Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
So I guess that's a yes to posting the private key just to see what happens?

Sure, why not, but if that $0.03 would turned into over a million dollars down the road, I'll be huntin' your ass in the furry-afterlife (or is that furry ass in the afterlife?). A million dollars could purchase a fleet of small aircrafts or supply clean water to a magnitude of people.
I would vote against it.  What if someone finds out about it and sends some money without fully researching it and finding out that is has been closed and that the private key has been published?  Just my humble opinion.

We can predict what will happen.  If you publish it then it will end up in a lot of sweep scripts and if any funds ever get sent to it then they will be swept to another address by whoever gets lucky and has the fastest sweeper.

Once again this is why we can't do fun things - somebody comes along and presents logic as to why the fun haz to be nipped in the bud.  Cry

Reads like it's a no-go, Rassah, thanks to Burt's astute input.

If the private key gets published, a lot of people will know about it, and not too many people will have not researched enough, not to send a small amount. People will be sending small satoshi amounts to see what happens, but the balance will likely remain zero and everyone will see that.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
I wonder if I should reveal a long held secret about Bitcoin100... and publish the private key of the address?

It would be interesting to see what happens with such a well known address.

I'm a fuckin' idiot! The secret that Rassah was alluding to IS the private key to the Bitcoin 100 wallet. I first read it as something nefarious pertaining to some other address, albeit guessed at the reply's true intent. No wonder Rassah and edd kicked me out of the Bitcoin 100 as venerated nefarious actors have claimed - because my critical thinking has critical issues in conjunction with supposedly being a thief and a racist.  Cry

That outta the way, if there's no objections, I'd love to lock this thread, deleting but saving all the last comments pass Post #99, whereupon they'll be archived as one post with, or then a last Post #100 - in the spirit of Bitcoin 100 - to say the final thanks you and goodbye. But feel free to post till then, for I'm well-versed on how to fix shit or simply let them be, in spite of BurtW thinking that he had to school me a solution.  Tongue

Since this is a moderated thread you can delete a few entries, including this one, get it back down to 100 and then lock it.

For those like BurtW who think I'm an idiot and winks here>, I quickly thought of that option. That outta way, let's wait and see what FurBall had up his sleeve kept from us and perhaps even me.

Hmmmmm.....

.... inquiring minds would love to know!

Great! Now we're opening up a can of worms at the 13th hour.  Roll Eyes Tongue Thanks to Rassah, he fucked up my plans of locking this thread at post 100 in the spirit of Bitcoin 100. Cry

EDIT: Shit, I just realized I'm logged in with the wrong account (not Phinnaeus Gage; thanks to having it on GG's watchlist).

Does it have anything to do with that kind anonymous donation that made the media rounds? Or just the private key to Bitcoin 100's wallet [address], thus giving some broke-ass sig campaigner the opportunity to steal the remaining $.03 in its coffer?  Grin

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
The below table depicts the links to the txIDs that Bitcoin 100 doled out to Roger Ver and the two endowed NPOs, Jason King's Unsung and The Water Project.

Unfortunately you forgot to take the fees into account. I left Roger out for the last transaction, sent here

where I cleared out the wallet to send all the remaining funds to him. Due to lots of tiny inputs involved, that transaction ended up a bit pricy, with $2 worth of transaction fees. But from what I understand Roger is used to dealing with really high bitcoin transaction fees, so hopefully he'll be ok with it.

No, I didn't forget about them pesky tx fees, even mentioning paying Roger last.  Tongue But it's all good, bud. I've updated the table in the OP linking the BTC payouts to the txID.

Thank you again, Rassah, for handling the financials of Bitcoin 100.

Merry Christmas and a crypto-prosperous 2017.

Bruno Kucinskas

PS: Leave it Rassah to leave $0.027 worth of bitcoins in Bitcoin 100's coffer.  Tongue Tongue Tongue Hey, maybe one day the scant coinage will be worth thousands.  Shocked

EDIT: @Rassah: Jake is verified and Roger provided his address to both of us via PM, thus dole out the remaining bitcoins as depicted below as one tx or save Roger's payout for last so that he incurs the scant fees. I guess it really doesn't matter, eh?  Smiley

https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/uk/london (I visited the site to see exactly what time it was GMT, whereupon I noticed that it was less than a minute till Midnight, so I waited, than snapped a screenshot, in case anybody is wondering if I planned such beforehand, which was not the case, else I would state such)

Bitcoin 100's remuneration process is officially close to any users who've once donated to the cause but failed to reply to any of the four PMs I've personally sent them. jake262144 is the only user needing to be verified, in which his chances look good thanks to theymos' efforts. VERIFIED!

The following is the current standing of what I'm now officially instructing Rassah to remit the stated bitcoins to the corresponding addresses, crossing my fingers that he doesn't mess it up.  Tongue Tongue Tongue

EDIT: sethsethseth has been verified and jake262144 has logged in and PM'ed his address (seen in table on OP), currently going through a simple verification process with the help from theymos (I sent him a PM). EDIT: theymos has replied to my PM resulting in it's looking good for Jake, albeit a [definitive] reply is now needed from the latter so to fully verify.

@Rassah: If at all humanly possible, please be available for a couple minutes on Christmas day so to remit BTC to Jason King's Unsung and The Water Project to their respective addresses which I'll post on [late] Christmas Eve. Reason: As a symbolic gesture à la a Christmas gift.
ve been PM'ed, none of which have logged into this forum since the onset of this remuneration process.

I know Jason really well and keep in touch often. He's a friend who lives nearby now, and we jointly own an airplane together. Also he owes me something like $12,000. So...

The table in the OP has been updated reflecting the last payout. Jeremy West has successfully been verified thanks to him complying to a minor hoop I had him pass through on one of his social media sites leaving to date only sethsethseth who has replied but not yet verified. Re the latter, we'll give him till 1-1-17 to comply to the verification request else his due 0.4378 BTC will be equally divided between Unsung and The Water Project no earlier than on 1-2-17, we/I assuming that his user account may have been compromised now controlled by a nefarious actor, with apologies to sethsethseth is such is/was not the case if by happenstance he/she misses out on being part of Bitcoin 100's remuneration process, duly hoping that I/we are being fair in that regard.

Tomorrow, the 24th, is the last day we'll accept PM or post replies from users who've kindly donated to Bitcoin 100 over the years. Again, apologies to any of those unfortunate enough to miss the remuneration process after a series of PMs were sent to all parties warranted a refund, depicted in the table on the OP of this thread.

@Rassah: Feel free to remit to Jeremy at your earliest convenience, but no later than on Christmas Day as I've PM'ed him that such may be the case. EDIT: Pay sethsethseth also, he, too, just now verified at the 11th hour. jake262144 still needs to be verified, hence no address included below but can be seen in the table on the OP.

EDIT: Rassah, minorman logged it and replied (logged in prior not too long ago, thus was virtually instantly approved), and Jeremy West logged in and replied, but is currently being reviewed, albeit see no problem with him at this penning. Feel free to remit to the users depicting bitcoin wallet addresses below the corresponding BTC depicted in the last (right) column like you've been doing. AND, please try not to mess anything up now that we're so close to home (read: winding down [if you're not versed in baseball]).  Tongue

Along with apetersson, blobbie has now been verified with the help from theymos (he apologizing for being behind), leaving only sethsethseth to return to this forum and claim his reward (he's social media et al. heavy, whereupon he'll be easy to confirm if he returns - I'll try to blast him through one of his available channels).
