Whoa, all the true Legendaries are showing up. I'd like to just say hi everyone. Bitcoin 100 was started before my time, and I did something else, and a few other things.

Be careful with really old members showing up to collect that have been inactive for a long time. The forum database has been leaked and many old accounts have been showing up recently... I would hate for some scammer to get a donation refund from you and this good project.

Thanks so kindly for the advice, bud, but I have taken that into consideration, having my own way of knowing who's who. Case in point, I'm having some doubts about the Bees Brothers' submission.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

I'm perplexed, bud. The only time you've ever mentioned Bitcoin 100 (or Bitcoin100 for that matter) on this forum was above. To be fair, if you can provide proof of donations, we'll be more than happy to make things right. You shouldn't have any issues with anonymity given 1NastyFRkeUTmMdbMmzggDVTQA6r3ibUoX's history, but if you do, please PM me details to help in resolving this minor issue.

Collectively, all the donors contributed to 83 good causes (minus any rogues making it pass the vetting process). That said, I look forward to your reply.

Bruno

I don't make it a point to publicly announce all my charitable donations.  I'm perplexed why anyone who donated to a charity would want a rebate (I certainly do not), or why you didn't choose another worthy cause.  Sorry if that was off topic.  There is nothing to "make right" with me.  My last donations to the Bitcoin 100 were back in 2014, so I'd like to believe they found their way to a charity.  I see the https://www.austinfoodbank.org/bitcoin I have more recently donated to is no longer in service either.  There seems to be a lack of Bitcoin charitable donation options these days...  Also, I don't control the NastyFans public address you posted above.

https://www.austinfoodbank.org/bitcoin this is the only food bank i saw upon searching

Since there were no other suggestions, I have donated the entirety of the BTC held in escrow to the Austin Food Bank.  Thanks to those who tried to make this a success.  It is possible something like this may be tried again in the future, but for now I'm bringing this to a close (I don't want to hold the escrow funds forever).

https://www.austinfoodbank.org/bitcoin can now be found at https://www.centraltexasfoodbank.org/bitcoin using the same BWA 1ARxKuBArW8XzJQNGoRC5RZBVqhb4Tx5yx.

Not only did they change their name, but expanded: Bastrop County food pantry to benefit from Austin food bank expansion

Quote
Austin-based Capital Area Food Bank has taken on a name – Central Texas Food Bank — one that more accurately reflects the organization’s founding role: carrying nutritious food to the hungry in 21 Central Texas counties, including Bastrop.

The Central Texas Food Bank will operate out of an expanded, state-of-the-art facility in Southeast Austin and is expected to open June 20.

President and CEO Hank Perret said the shift would benefit all the organization’s partners, including the 13 pantries that serve populations in Bastrop, Elgin, Smithville and the rural areas in between.

“We are going to have a lot more food to distribute to people,” Perret said.

The new 135,000-square-foot facility has a production kitchen, 15 loading docks, seven times more fridge and freezer space and nearly three times as much dry storage space.

“Today we are not hitting all the people that are food insecure,” Perret said. “Now, we’re going to be able to do that.”

I haven't kept up to date with the Bitcoin 100 thread.  I'm saddened to learn that funds are being sent back to contributors.  As someone who has donated anonymously over the years, I know I'd rather see the funds donated to a charity or pro-Bitcoin entity and not sent back to users.  I'd hate to think my donations never made it to a good cause and instead were sent to other members.

Hey Phinnaeus Gage,

Blast from the past! Smiley  I haven't been here on the forum in forever, and I've abandoned /r/bitcoin as well, so now I'm like a Bitcoiner without a home... an orphan lost at sea.

But that's okay, I get to see most of the good ones at conferences/events still. Hopefully you and I can perhaps meet some day.

Thank you for putting together the Bitcoin 100, and for winding it down in such a professional manner. You can send anything of mine to:  1HRLDNg1jZrHqeYQudiePjhTk68XHsuaYB

See you at the moon, my friend.

Hey, bud, it'll be a pleasure meeting you some day. I still recall how I admired your writing style back when, aspiring to become a wordsmithy myself one day. I've added your address to the list.

Later, Erik.

This is a nice surprise...  I was half worried someone would come to us and say hey.. you haven't given the whole 25 btc  Smiley

nice work

jim

I just checked, Jim, and your original pledge was 20 BTC, not 25 BTC as you've alluded to. That said, kindly remit to us 18 BTC, whereupon you'll receive a handsome reward of 0.8756 BTC (according to my Leroy Fodor math).

Seriously, thank you kindly for your support and PM reply. Your address et al. has been added to the list in the OP.

Bruno

Thanks, edd, and your address has been added to the list as well. I doubt that there'll be any major discrepancies with most of any combined smaller ones covered by the last 15 BTC adjustment I've devised and outlined, specifically designed so to make sure all who've contributed are satisfied.

Oh, I'm sure you were very thorough and this does seem to be the best way to satisfy everyone involved.

Two-plus-weeks of thoroughness in fact, in which unintentional minute errors may still have occurred, but, again, financially covered via late and/or non-arrivals making up the expressed 15% pool (reads like word spaghetti, but hopefully the gist was not lost).
