In my country Bitcoin adoption is still very poor and many people are still not familiar with it. I could say that is still depending on not very big number of enthusiasts and very few businesses that accepted Bitcoin. I think that some better promotion is needed as well as education of people. Also, government and regulatory institutions didn't defined their attitude towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general so that is also a problem.

In my native country people are proposing ridiculous drafts how we should be jailed for 10 years for dealing in cryptocurrencies.
Even holding is a sin for them, maybe the government proposing to start their own cryptocurrencies.
You must be from India then. This is just a stupid proposal and nothing more. I doubt the government would actually think of alienating its tech savvy citizens in this manner.

I haven't seen any places accepting lightning here either , but I hope in the upcoming days it is going to improve for sure ..
The Lightning Network is not even fully operational and is still undergoing testing which is why its adoption rates are low around the world. It might take several years down the line for the rates to pick up.

In the country where I live , it's sure not illegal but the government is not supporting the Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies that much , only doing what is needed for people like us to use it.

In our country the government is neutral in regards to cryptocurrency. Thwy are just warning people of the the potential investment scam that are usong crypto as a front. We can freely trade, buy, sell, and use crypto without hassle. There are also merchants that accepts bitcoin as payment.

although a lot of people doesn't know about bitcoin in our country and most of them who knows about it still consider bitcoin as a scam.
other than that the adaptation of cryptocurrency in our country is great the exchange site exclusive in our country is government approve(KYC is optional)
and the banks are cooperating they are also trying to make a stable coin so our country men who are working abroad can
send their money faster. I know it sounds progressive but bitcoin in our country bitcoin still have a bad image because of the scams
our fellow country men did and a lot of people doubted bitcoin because of this.

We're lucky in our country because we're free to join blockchain and to use cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is actually being accepted by most merchants here even with electric and water companies. We're even paying our tuition fees with Bitcoin and ethereum here. More merchants are actually planning to adopt crypto here and I could say that the progress of Bitcoin and altcoins in our country is continuous.

Bitcoin is spreading like a wildfire in every country although we can't stop those other countries where their government ban Bitcoin since they don't know how good it will give them in the future. But people on that area are still using as long as they do have some merchants who can accept to trade with them. In my country, Bitcoin is adaptation is widely increasing some of them even use it as a source of payment for some services they do.

In our country I could say the adoption is not that much because a lot in our place see bitcoin as a scam. When they here bitcoin they will really say it is scam and most of the people in our country is close minded, whatever explanation they will not accept it that is why it is really hard to convince someone to invest.

I think it's hard to stop the growth of Bitcoin. The government can do anything they want but they can not stop people using it. How are they gonna trace someone who will use TOR/VPN.

I think there are 5 to 7 countries who are publicly unfortunate to get the benefit of cryptocurrency. Sooner or later they will change their mind.

I agree, it is very hard to stop the growth of bitcoin most especially now people are interested in bitcoin and I think a lot are already inform about bitcoin. In our country, before they are very afraid to invest in bitcoin because they think it is scam but as the time goes by and as bitcoin holders educate their friends about the uses and what bitcoin can do, they started to invest little by little and I have friends as well who is asking me about investing so I think bitcoin's adoption is increasing in our country.

Here in my entire country, people are aware of Bitcoin, both bad and good image of it. They marked it is a scam, for those who have bought at last ATH. But for the people who gained profits, they all think positive about it. In my place, only people who were curious about new techs do only know about Bitcoin, one time I have met a guy that worked in our electric provider and he is mining ether and monero, so I was happy that there are people like him in our city. Also I met a guy working at the computer center, he bought Bitcoin and he was happy that he knew I was also engage and this and we exchange information. So far it is a good outcome, I hope there are more people to engage in the Bitcoin Network and adoption is nothing impossible.

No, am not based in USA but somewhere in Asia where adoption seems to be more exciting though we still have China and few smaller countries adamant in their strong negative stand on bitcoin...though of course in China if one has the money there are many ways to own bitcoin. Only time can tell if these countries will eventually put forward a compromise formula so they can open their respective markets to cryptocurrency.

I think most of the country who hate (government) Crypto are from Asia (including South Asia). Some of them as far as I know:
Bangladesh
Nepal
India recent time from the news I heard.

I hope someone will bring a complete list.

In our India today is say it is illegal.And170 lawyers tried to stop Bitcoin in India (Which I don't like). And 6-7 Indian companies are trying so hard not to allow such a big mistake. We do not want all Indian users to close Bitcoin in India. But our government is doing it. But we know that it will not be permanently closed. !!!!!!!

Bitcoin is not valid in my country. It is not legal to deal with Bitcoin. A few days ago, two people were arrested in Bangladesh for trading with Bitcoin. It is not legal to deal with the cryptocurrency in our country. In many countries of Asia, the cryptocurrency is not valid as long as India has been arrested several days ago. The cryptocurrency in these countries is still not legally acceptable and is not popular.

in my countries where cryptocurrencies only get permission as digital assets, people are permitted to conduct exchange transactions but cannot be made legal payments, because legitimate payments only apply to national currencies. This law indeed limits users from buying and selling goods transactions using cryptocurrency. I feel that this greatly inhibits cryptocurrency growth in my country. but I still support this step. as long as the cryptocurrency is not banned.

This is for members outside of the United States of America since things going in that country are all on the news but for those countries who are usually outside the radar of the mainstream media, I would like to get updates which can be good and bad, favorable and unfavorable with bitcoin. Here in my country, we have no problem with the government as regulatory bodies are not hindering the growth of cryptocurrency and in fact we have many more exchanges already approved and they can start doing business in 2020. Reading the news in other countries, I am feeling lucky to be a resident here.

What about in your own native land...how's bitcoin adoption been going on? Is there a bright future in there or maybe is it facing a gloomy and cloudy prospect? Let's talk...
Here in my country bitcoin is very well accepted and we can spend our bitcoins freely,we can buy cellphone load recharge, gaming pins, paybills, cashout to banks and many remitance centers.Bitcoin usage here in my country is pretty good, you can spend your bitcoin on the main things you need daily.

Same goes here in my country, we can do all said things above. In addition, I think many people even teens are involving themselves to cryptos. They are aware of the good things bitcoin as well as other coins can offer to them financially and in their daily lives.  The government here is not against it so we are not having any issues about it.

Well, yeah, I know what you mean. And we should be thankful to be situated in a country not closing its doors to financial innovations even if there were some money scams which utilized bitcoin as the mode of payment.

In what country you live?

Most of the countries that doesn't have strict rules or haven't established specific law about crypto, transactions are smooth.
