Well, in my own opinion, i thnk this is really possible to happen. Because it is obvious that Russia itself is very fond of the technology but just cannot allow it yet because of all the danger of illegal things being done inside Russia. Or maybe they are just studying the technology and are planning to create their own crypto currency that they, themselves can control and regulate. That is just my speculation though.

Yes, i totally agree with this opinion. Not sure about own cryptocurrency for now, but anything is possible in future.
I hope nothing will change their mind and interest for new technologies and they will not forbid cryptos.

Will see!

Eh. Very disappointing to hear. You are always hoping that your country is doing well. However, there are good projects in Russia

If your Russian ICO has no criminal element then you have nothing to fear, trouble is 99% of all ICO's on earth are SHIT designed to scam pensioners, and GOV if it has one job, its to protect the elderly,  from the young criminals.

Of course the criminals go after the elderly cuz "Thats where the money is".

There is no criminal element actually) we just want to make event industry more profitable

We all know that cryptocurrency and Russia have contradictory relationships.

Russia seeking for the way how to regulate cryptocurrency, for example, some of Russians officials claim that bitcoin and cryptocurrency should be considered as "goods" and not a "currency". Also, they banned well known Russian media about cryptocurrency. They still don't want to legalize Bitcoin explaining that this currency is used for money-laundering and illegal business.

On the other hand, there are a lot ICO campaigns in Russia. Almost every week the crypto and blockchain events are organized. And Russian crypto community is quite big.

Do you believe that one day Russian government will legalize Bitcoin and join cryptocommunity?

Russia will be second to China in crypto

It's a natural fit, there will be more miner in Russia, with access to power

Russian Math&CS ppl are the best in the world, so they can work together on BTC 2.0

They will smash the 'criminal-shit' ICO biz, just like China did,

We hear that Buterin (ETH buttboy) recently met with Putin

***

Russian Currency backed by BTC/GOLD, Chinese Currency Back by BTC/GOLD

USA becomes worlds largest lepper colony ( V for Vendetta )

***

A lot of this bullshit would just end if ppl actually traveled to CHINA & RUSSIA,

Eastern Europe ( bulgaria, czech ... ) are like the wild-wild west of crypto

Well, Russia is a country that doesn’t have a large economy a country which is controlled by predominantly one party in government. This party, Putins Party, wants control over everhthing in the country and doesn’t want to lose the profits they’re able to extract from the country

Bitcoin is a problem for them, I see it being regulated very very soon!

Do you trust russian ICO projects?
Now many people are convinced that Russian ICO projects, as a rule, are fraud. Many in this forum say that they will never again participate in the ICO if there are Russians in its team. The Russians in ICO themselves have compromised.
As for the crypto-currency crisis in general, the situation in Russia is not good either. Representatives of the authorities say one thing, but they do something else. And even their statements about the crypto currency are contradictory.

Yes, I do believe that the Russian government will legalize Bitcoin eventually. They have no other choice unless they want to be like North Korea, isolated from the rest of the world. There is a strong Bitcoin community in Russia and I'm sure some of those guys have ties with the government.

The development of bitcoin is indeed not accepted in all countries, many countries which until now still do not know about bitcoin, but for russia, I'm sure one day the Russian government will use bitcoin.

Who can really say for sure? They've been very contradictory in my eyes. Their first statements were quite supportive and enthusiastic about the technology, then they came out with their plans for their own digital currency and all of a sudden, criminals using Bitcoin is a concern.

Russia is pretty authoritarian though. They even have internet censorship in place, so Bitcoin being outlawed amidst criminal use concern is likely to be in the cards.

Bitcoin in Russia is going to be legalized. However in last years there is problem with freedom. Let's hope that Putin won't make taxes for wallet owners and won't kill freedom of mining.

I think is naive to think that Russia will legalize crypto in the nearest future.
It´s just used for money laundry

Dont agree with you in 100%  to your mind - countries which already accepted bitcoin also used for money laundry?

It's like a situation where they don't like it but they will have to accept it in future and they know this, blocking BTC won't bring anything good for them.

I'm getting fucking bored of Russia's never ending flim flamming.

One day it's the greatest thing ever, next day they're going to slit the face of every crypto user in the land.

Let's wait for some actual laws and then judge. Until then they can french kiss my sphincter. I've no more interest in what comes out there.

I do not know much about Russia. But there they prohibit protests, they block access to sites. Putin holds all power in his dictatorial hands. The principle of bitcoin is freedom. Russia will not allow the currency to develop without their control. Control bitcoin - lol.

I think Russia likes the technology and really wants to implement it, but can not do it with the current crypto currencies because they can't handle tax on it. It's a problem for a lot of countries but Russia took action immediately by banning the whole thing. If they would find a solution for it, there is a change that they unban the coin. But I think chances are bigger that they will just invent that own regulated coin and implement it in the society. I read somewhere that they already found a crypto currency that they will use as a substitute of Bitcoin.
Putin is now cornered like a rat. He will never make a step which is aimed at weakening its power. In Russia at the power that the KGB will never be legalized cryptocurrencies. I am sure that this right will only have those who belong to the caste of his friends. All other Russians will be put in jail for using bitcoin.
That really depends on who is in control of it, as cryptocurrencies doesn't have to be decentralized.
If they create a coin that they are able to control, than it wouldn't weaken his power but either increase his power.
Then I think it's possible to legalize that particular cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin and Russia are not in good terms before. But I saw on the news that bitcoin is now legal in that country. But the Russian government considered some restrictions so they implemented different rules and regulations about the use of bitcoin. For me, that is already good as long as it is not banned.

As far as i've heard, Putin recently said that Russia will legalize crypto, even though central bank doesn't want to agree with that.

ICOs and crypto are very popular in Russia, most of succesfull projects are from Russia so maybe soon this country will become really progressive in this area and will be a 'heart' of crypto and ICO, why not?
