What authority does Bitcoin Development LTD have to apply for a world record for bitcoin? They do not represent nor own "bitcoin" as in the protocol itself.

From what I can see it looks like the OP is really just trying to get donations (see the donation address on the OP).

cha ching. i think this guy gets it.

i do laugh when some people try to explain how doing things costs lots of money. when all it costs is a few emails to the right people
What is even more concerning is that people actually appear to be donating to the OP. It is very sad as to how gullible how some people are.

Maybe, but we will not give up until Guinness Headquarter response it. Thanks for your advice

2. The world’s highest valued encrypted digital currency;

I don't think Bitcoin would qualify for that one because it is not encrypted. The USD probably qualifies more as an encrypted digital currency more than BTC does.
Bitcoin uses Cryptographic hash functions and digital signatures, but not encryption per se.

[/quote]I think there would probably be a way around this. Or maybe someone could apply for it to be some other world record.

Let the chips fall where they may.
What i have problem with is objectivity. If it's freakin egg and spoon race, than do not let someone glue god damn eg to spoon, or someone compete with custom made spoon that can safely carry eg in any position you like etc. Spoon is a spoon, and egg is a egg. "Most users on one game server" is exactly that...not freaking login server!

I lost faith in the Guinness Book of records when they started allowing geographically-distributed "x people doing y" type records. How can they be sure that x exceeds the number of people in the world randomly doing y independent of the record attempt?

Yes, we are worry about that before. But some of them should be succeed. Like "the world’s largest distributed computing network"
Wonder if it can break the record as the most valuable asset ever in 10 years, if adoption gets serious and price per BTC goes nuts.  Smiley

Please check the details we update. Glad to receive your advice..
It is not important which category BTC appears in. We are talking about positive promotion, getting BTC more positive press and consequently more users.
Really hope to see this.
