Bitcoin should apply for the biggest valuated asset, going to cents in 2009 to 1000 in 2013.

The record is for “the world’s largest distributed computing network”?

I wonder if this is really the case? It seems to be the largest network of computers hashing SHA256. that's almost for sure.

Well, it is the largest.. so that technically makes it a record, right? Smiley

Almost? It is the largest one. Distributed computing network? I don't think so.

I'm pretty sure they could create a record just for that.  Guinness will create a record for anything...there is probably a record for the longest time spent sitting on a toilet.

To me that counts as computing. Projects like SETI@Home and Distributed.net have held the title at some point, and they are not doing general computation either. Record supercomputers often have a mix of CPUs and GPUs that, while programmable for anything, are not necessarily optimal/fastest for every possible computation.

Also, mmmm....Guinness....Tongue
