Once a criminal always a criminal, by any means any stuff can be used in exchange for a crime, drugs, sex trade. Bitcoin was a new fad for criminal thats why many people think that bitcoin are used by criminal, and i oppose that idea, even pretty girls can be used as crimes. Not just bitcoin but in any form of crypto currency can be used as crimes. Criminal will always find a way on how to make deals in any form of exchange.
its not only now, it has been used already on its early days and guess what Fiats are also used in crimes, governments officials used fiats to do crime and illegal activities.
We told that Bitcoin used in Crimes but it is not a bitcoin fault. Do you thing we can't any blame with any knife because knife used man and those man kill other man with knife so we can't blame knife because Dr use knife for a good work if some one used for crimes it is a very bad for those people who used bitcoin in crimes. I Thing in a short time Bitcoin will be a track and government got his tax .
Using bitcoin wallet has also a transaction record/history. We can also see their transaction with other people especially when it is also connected with their facebook account. Unless they uses their spare account for crime and don't put their real identity.
The Bitcoin team shall surely take note of this nefarious attitude of some BTC users and will do something to checkmate them. I know it is possible to use Bitcoin for crimes.
I don't think that it is a new thing anymore, Bitcoin's price was jump started by these kinds of illegal activities hence it was link as some sort of "drug money" in the past where Bitcoin is the main medium of exchange for buying and selling of drugs online in the dark web. The price right now is irrelevant as even before it was priced below 100$ Bitcoin is being used in drugs and hyips. Right now the prices are rising making it more attractive for criminals to hunt their prey online.
bitcoin were used in crimes even in the old days. it has been the currency in the dark web pioneering the silk road in 2011. it is used to buy drugs, hire asssins and stuff that are illegal.
i believe so! this may use with drug dealing, hitman for hire and some transactions that need no evidence in payment. most politiicians that are corrupt can make bitcoin as their bank too !
Its not only Bitcoin, there are other currencies more anonymous then Bitcoin, like Monero for example, since there is no public "ledger" or block chain. Block chain transaction is only visible for people that send money and for that transaction. But Monero has long way to go until becomes Bitcoin(i dont think that will ever happens, since BTC is FOUNDING FATHER)

i think bitcoin is used in crimes for few years ago because its easy to them to make transfer in bitcoin than using the money and they should not worried with anything that will happen. i remembered a movie title "hacker" (if i am not wrong) and in that movie, i see the bitcoin is transfered to other people and imagine maybe its like that when someone is using bitcoin for any of crimes. and maybe in out there too many crimes like drugs, gun and many other is using bitcoin too for the payment.
This is really dangerous. How smart criminal people are, that they use bitcoin for crimes. It is sad to say that there are people like this, bitcoin is a greatest thing that you can have, why they are using it in crime, or maybe they are uaing it to buy drugs, which is possible. Well, now I get it why government are not in favor of bitcoin, because it is untraceable. If there will be a solution for this, hopefully there is, it will help the community of bitcoin, to avoid this things which is not good for us. Maybe, one day, if it crimes using bitcoin becomes worst, there's a big a chance that bitcoin will be banned worldwide, but I'm praying for it not to happen. Bitcoin already helped many of us, and may it continue helping us for many years that will come.
All the fiat currencies are used for criminal activities for drug dealings, money laundering and duplicating money so no one can blame bitcoin technology, in other words it is tougher to do criminal activities with bitcoin than traditional currencies as the bitcoin network is on the mark of police investigation after the wannacry ransomware attack worldwide. Duplication of bitcoin is not possible unlike traditional currencies.
well indeed all fiat currencies can be used for illegal activities but remember that the govermement can control fiat currenies in form of banks but in case of bitcoin which is decentralized and the transactions are irreversible bitcoin can be a way to commit crimes without getting caught by the government easily
Actually there is no problem that bitcoin used in many crimes because its money after all and we all know all kinds of money like fiat or any currencies can be used by criminals if they want so whats the big deal? Some said that they used bitcoin in crimes because its untraceable but its actually not, blockchain transactions can be traced if you're committing crime using bitcoins.
Of course bitcoin is used by some criminalls because Cyrptocurrencies cannot be traced and they are decentarlized. Because of these situations, terrorist organisations use bitcoin in their horrible attacks.

Ever since the value of Bitcoins increased, the criminals have found it more and more difficult to acquire Bitcoins. And another factor is the emergence of anonymous currencies, such as Monero.

That's how Bitcoin became known by public. It was first used in Deep web to purchase illegal things/activities. And now it was introduced to the public. Because of its anonymity feature, no one can't track the identity of the user/owner. Because of that government are worried that Bitcoin may use by criminals in money laundering. Actually, on this time that is possible that those criminals are already doing money laundering.
And you thought, since the appearance of the network, fraud and aiding in crimes have already begun to develop, but here a whole area, and even uncontrolled, is just a sweet place for criminals. So some countries do the right thing, protecting their country from crime.
Yes indeed there are still some people there who use bitcoin as a crimes acts that can tarnish the good name of bitcoin as a digital currency that was supposed to be used for more positive things to gain profit. It sounds sad whenever I know that somebody has using bitcoin as a crimes acts, hopefully the number of people like this can be reduce until nobody doing it anymore.. to overcome this, it takes action from the governments that can be more controlling it I guess.
Well, every form of money is used in crime, cash, credit cards, any money. So we can't say that Bitcoin is the only one and that it is bad for that reason. It is not Bitcoins fault that criminals use it because it is untracable. Money is money and we can not stop it from being used for illegal purposes.
Yes I agree with you if some are using bitcoin for crime it’s not a mistake of bitcoin it’s a mistake of criminals because if you study bitcoin in detail it teach you about trade, business, mining, etc. it change a life of common people around the world and bad people are also using other currency for crimes so I think it’s not an issue that bitcoin is using for crimes.
