How popular is bitcoin as a medium of payment for freelancers for their freelance work ? Do clients really pay to freelancers for their work in bitcoins ? Or they prefer other payment mediums like paypal which provided more protection to buyer.
The payment method to pay your client should have been discussed before the job. Yes, you can pay your clients Bitcoin if you agree, but most of the freelancing works I know pay in USD.

All freelancing companies cannot be the same, they should have different payment methods, and you don't expect all of them to use Bitcoin for payment, unlike this forum where you have to pay BTC for your service especially in the service board because it is a Bitcoin forum; therefore, any payment methods can be used, although if all of them can use BTC, there will be more adoption globally.

Today, Bitcoin offers a financial freedom for freelancers and a guarantee of financial freedom that ignores the various geographical restrictions around the world. A freelancer is able to receive his payment from anywhere in the world after completing his work thereby benefiting freelancers as well as employers benefiting from Bitcoin payments. If a freelancer gets paid in the conventional way, he has to take the help of a third party such as a bank, there is a financial loss due to various charges, but there is no need to go to a third party in the field of receiving payment in Bitcoin. Both sender and receiver can benefit. There is a downside to this though, as when paying in Bitcoin there is a possibility that a freelancer will be underpaid or overpaid due to fluctuations in value. However, it would be convenient to accept Bitcoin for easy payment method.

From what I've heard it's not entirely THAT famous but it's been used here and there by a lot of clients, particularly within the crypto industry. Some clients in particular sending them over bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for that matter cause for one, it cuts the middle man of having to convert the money to stablecoins or fiat just so they can use it, and it also promotes bitcoin in some way or another.

Also worth noting that the very thing that some of us here (myself included) about the signature campaign is pretty much considered free lance work already, so with that being said that we're getting paid as freelancers in the form of bitcoin or USDT, again this type of payment method is only primarily accessible if both you and the client are in the crypto industry, otherwise they wouldn't really dare explore that cause as we all know there's a learning curve you must achieve before you can really get the hang of bitcoin, or any cryptocurrency for that matter.

Oh well, I could see that in the future as more and more people get acquainted with bitcoin, and as more and more freelance jobs come from the crypto industry, we're going to get more people that are being paid in crypto.

Bitcoin is a medium of payment for freelancers I mean basically I do the job and join in the signature campaign and get rewarded in Bitcoin as a payment.
This forum services usually pay their freelancer using bitcoin or other form of crypto even outside this forum there are a ton of app that pay their freelance in crypto as a whole.

Sometimes you as a freelancer, a signature campaign participant, has no choice in payment method, or can say you mainly have no choice. The company and campaign manager, discuss and decide the payment method.

Some will feel happy by receiving bitcoin in payment and consider it as indirect DCA in Bitcoin, as a type of investment. Some will feel not happy because they don't want to see fluctuation or big change in value of payment in some minutes or hours or some days. Some will have to pay expensive on chain transaction fee, sometimes, to exchanges for selling.

But if we are talking about working in signature campaigns, it's not surprising that most companies here prefer bitcoin over other crypto, except when the network is congested which makes transaction fees for bitcoin highly expensive. Nevertheless, bitcoin is a great payment when it comes to freelancing jobs.
It can be explained that most of companies have service threads in this forum, accept Bitcoin as one of payment methods on their platforms. It means they don't have to purchase bitcoin and use it for payment to their staffs, signature campaign participants. They simply assign part of their business income to pay staffs and participants.

If you look at binance or other companies like Ether Fi or coinbase they offered their salary bonus in the form of crypto, Borderless, the fee is cheap so Bitcoin is the best In my opinion for paying services or other form of payment
Freelancers will only receive bitcoin as a payment for their services once the employer or the company agrees on it. It's always better to be transparent, but some laypeople who go into freelancers certainly don't choose assets that are risky enough because they don't understand how Bitcoin or crypto works.

But of course, the payment options of PayPal and Bitcoin or crypto will be optional options and adjusted to their interests.

If the relationship is associated with a person who does not understand how bitcoin or crypto works then paying using Paypal or using the FIAT system was previously an option for them.
Bitcoin is actually considered unique and optional because of the advantages it has and people understand how bitcoin or crypto itself works.
Interest will be determined by the extent to which they understand and people who are not familiar with bitcoin or crypto will definitely prefer the previous existing payment system.

and about privacy, this is a bit of a conversation because some companies certainly need their KYC as a freelancer so they know what their profile is and the skills they are good at.

But some companies that need freelancers also don't need any details, and the most important thing is the results of their work.
It's a matter of choice whether they need KYC or not although it is still a matter of discussion so that the company knows the details.
But there are also companies like the one you said and they don't require KYC at all because they will test jobs through skills and have previously gone through a specified selection.

This depends on the options given by the freelancer. If I'm offering a service, it's expected of me to have payment option and if Bitcoin is something easy for me to collect, I don't mind to receive it through Bitcoin. I will convert to whatever currency I want later or leave it that way and hold until when I'm ready to sell. Some client though do give option to pay through Bitcoin which is not bad, it's all about understanding between the freelancer and the client.

There are some clients that are very stubborn though, asking for payment with Bitcoin makes them see you as a scammer, they will ignore you even though you are expert in the service they want and this is because they are ignorant of Bitcoin and some of them are scary people, they will pay you and then ask for refund later with bad review, many gigs platform are guilty of this and it's very bad. Bitcoin solve all this kind of issus, once send it can't be reverse.
Yes that is right as a freelancer it is important to offer different payment options including Bitcoin to make clients happy. Some clients might not understand or trust Bitcoin but others like it because it is easy and secure. Some clients might not know about Bitcoin and might think it is suspicious which can cause problems. But Bitcoin transactions are final so clients can't ask for refund falsely. By accepting Bitcoin freelancers show they are flexible and knowledgeable which builds trust with clients. It is important to clearly discuss payment terms with clients to avoid any issues and ensure smooth transaction.

Do clients really pay to freelancers for their work in bitcoins ?

They do pay in Bitcoin if the freelancer desired to have his job paid in Bitcoin since there are options of payment given when the job is posted and Bitcoin is one of them,.

Or they prefer other payment mediums like paypal which provided more protection to buyer.

If the job poster does not want or no intention of scamming the freelancer, then they can opt to any form of payment.  If the freelancer desired a Bitcoin payment then I believe the company won't hesitate to agree with the freelancer if it was also given on the option of payment.

Depending on which currency the freelancer is wanting to pay you with or what you want which ever way you want it ,you need to accept one . When you are in the cryptocurrency sphere is best with Bitcoin but outside cryptocurrency any of the above is accept,if you have to use PayPal,then after the payment, you have to transfer it from your PayPal wallet to your Bitcoin for safety purpose .

It depends on where you live and what the policies are in the agreement because in the end paying via bitcoin for now is not as easy as imagined especially when we live in a country that has regulations that bitcoin is still only a commodity not a legal tender.

If indeed the country already has regulations for bitcoin then indeed it can be done with some agreements between officials and employees, but in fact for now not all countries do something like that because it will actually violate and slow down the adaptation of bitcoin if we force it.

Everything becomes legitimate when there are regulations and the country is ready for bitcoin adoption but when bitcoin is still considered a commodity and only legalized as an investment tool as it happens in my country today, I think it is very risky to force the will by giving bitcoin as a form of payment for its workers because in the end this relates to the applicable law.

Even the sites allow Bitcoin payment, I believe many people will choose stablecoins over Bitcoin because they can't take the volatility.

After all whether the jobs pay in Bitcoin or fiat isn't matter, but how much they want to pay and how stressful the job are two biggest reason that most people looking for.

If company A offer to pay in BTC, but they only pay for $500 with high pressure while company B offer to pay in fiat, they willing to pay for $1,000 without high pressure, if you're the employee, which one you will choose? Roll Eyes

not all freelancers will use bitcoin as a means of payment, and they have to make an agreement first so that there are no parties who don't like using bitcoin as their wages, but currently bitcoin is familiar to all people and they already know how much bitcoin is worth Nowadays and on average they are definitely tempted by bitcoin, so for freelance work I am sure I will accept payment using bitcoin.
Indeed, an agreement must be reached between the two collaborating parties to determine how payments will be made. Bitcoin or PayPal is actually an attractive alternative for business people, especially those who work online.
maybe not only those who work as freelancers offer their services. those who have a real business offering goods or services can also accept payments in Bitcoin as long as the deal is attractive to both parties.

I once reached an agreement with a computer repair service. fortunately, they are also interested in Bitcoin and even have a local exchange account. we agreed on a price and payment was made in Bitcoin.
I'm sure there is no problem with freelancing with Bitcoin. but usually, the party who pays already has their terms and conditions with which they will pay their freelance workers.

PayPal is one of the major payment means used by freelancing sites and international companies, which already is trusted by Millions.
Bitcoin Payment is accepted and trusted, it depends on the freelancing sites you're working for and also if the worker is okay with it. If we are talking about Protection I believe Bitcoin with her decentralised nature is more than PayPal.

Do not know because we work not paid with Bitcoin and in our place Bitcoin is only a commodity asset.
For workers who come from and work in places that are allowed to use bitcoin, in my opinion rather than receiving payments through Paypal, maybe using Bitcoin better, safer and fast.
For me I think payment in bitcoin will be better, safe and fast for freelancers but client have always been in charge to decide the method of payment that will be used for freelancers. But I think bitcoin will be of better option if clients and freelancers agrees, the most important thing is for client to have Bitcoin for payment which I don't think freelancers will decline bitcoin as payment. In this time that we are most workers will even prefer to recieve bitcoin as payment for their services for many good reasons.

Since bitcoin is getting more awareness and widely accepted by many people,  I believe with time it will be the fastest way of payment because it serves as a universal currency that can be use anywhere you found yourself.

Just as the majority of people have responded, payments of services will depend solely on the agreement between the parties. But you can rarely receive Bitcoin payments from companies outside the crypto industry. One can easily receive Bitcoin payments from this forum because it is designed for crypto discussions.

You don't expect to be paid with Bitcoin when you offer a freelancing service to a company whose major financial transaction is done through fiat. They will have to incur extra costs and go through some processes before they can convert fiat to Bitcoin to enable them to pay you. But it will be easy for organizations that receive Bitcoin or altcoins to easily pay a freelancer with cryptocurrencies. So PayPal provide more protection to buyers than Bitcoin? I don't think so because you need to go through KYC to operate a Paypal account. Bitcoin through P2P will be better to protect privacy.

If others could use it as a medium of exchange for their goods and services rendered online, what makes you think it can't be suitable for freelancers? Because, inasmuch as Bitcoin is a the world's most used cryptocurrency, let's not forget that it's fast, secured and a good store of value for long term investment plan. Hence if you know any freelancer, you could recommend him to use Bitcoin for receiving payment for goods and services rendered for client across borders. Bitcoin is the best and remains the best.
High transactions fees, lack of Bitcoin education and price volitility might be some of the reasons why organization might prefer using fiat. High transactions fees due to the clogging of the mempool might make fiat payment options cheaper.

Things like that usually depend on an initial agreement before a freelancer starts doing their work, because if you just stick to better protection, of course there are many wallets that can be relied on to receive and send payments to someone because it's not just PayPal. So no one will be able to fight the popularity of Bitcoin in any way, including in terms of payment for important work such as that done by freelancers today. And you yourself can look at it thoroughly so that you can have a little more real comparison with Paypal users just for something.
