It has always been so, there is nothing surprising in it. All coins are traded in pair with bitcoin and for some of them, it is the only trading pair. The mood of investors and the entire market largely depends on the price of bitcoin. But it is also a great tool to manipulate the price of other coins. At this stage, the market is highly influenced.
Being the first blockchain and as such first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin tends to be the heart of all coins, as its increase leads to that of Altcoins and vice versa.
Hm, I would say altcoins are following bitcoin only when it moves in a very fast way - drops down or pumps dramatically. When the movement is slow and steady alts are not showing much price dependence. You can look at the charts. For example now, when bitcoin price movement is nearly dead some alts are showing quite a good growth.

As we all know it when bitcoin price goes down, most of the coins are heading down too. That's because bitcoin it is the Heart of all coins if its sound then all of the coins are good, if it's Bad then all of the coins are going down too. most of the time other coins are following the bitcoin price. just look up the market right now.

yes I think that bitcoin has been like mother of altcoins and altcoin prices depends on it , Bitcoin doesn't have a good blockchain in compare with some new blockchain coins like gochain , But still it is the first and I think we need a replacement.
BTC has not even gone mainstream yet. Mass adoption should take place for other coins not to follow BTC's footsteps anymore. It has become the trademark of crypto currency itself due to the popularity it gained through the years. Who knows it could be overtaken by something better in the future?

You are right BTC has dominated the crypto market as this is always popular, yes in this bearish market it is struggling but it will recover and change the market. BTC is trending in every aspect as it has a wide range of supporters. BTC has a bright future ahead.
Yes , I also think that the Bitcoin is the core of this whole crypto ecosystem. And somehow Bitcoin own the market. More than half of the market cap is in Bitcoin. And if you compare to next two positions holder coins ethereum and ripple Bitcoin has 5x-6x larger market cap than that. So we can see that people like love and believe in btc. And for this huge market cap, circulation and daily high volume, somehow Bitcoin manage to control market trends. So when Bitcoin goes down people start to panic and the whole market goes down. And some time when Bitcoin grow all the alts grow sometimes they dumped. That's it. And I think when Bitcoin is stable alts grow better. And yes again I agree Bitcoin is the brain of this whole body crypto system.
You can give that nonsense explanation, or you can get the logical explanation, which is that most alts are linked to bitcoin or ETH, that means that there is no exchange that allows you to change for example Venq for Fiat, is always venq for eth or bitcoin and then for some fiat currency, that's why the price of alts and btc is so linked

I agree with you that Bitcoin is the heart of all altcoins. Because, we know that if the cost of bitcoin is reduced or increased, then the price of other altcoins also increase and decrease. Not only that, the whole crypto market is active for Bitcoin. So, we can't imagine crypto world without Bitcoin.
I would rather say bitcoin is the brain if all coins as it is even more important than a heart. Up until now , since biycoin hit the 20k mark it has gone down about 3× its all time high. But check other coins, most of then have gone 10-20× below their all time high if not more. Bitcoin is the head as it occupies 50% of the entire market cap
