Bitcoin is already universal virtual currency, widely used in all over the world.
Of course, we are not mainstream yet but coming closer to this goal.
In the long term I'm sure that everybody will accept Bitcoin as standard payment option because other payment services can't offer to users what we can (fast transaction, security, anonymity, no banks involved etc.).
Yes, there are people using bitcoin all over the world but "universal" kind of implies that everyone uses it, and that's nowhere near true.  I would also argue that bitcoin isn't getting much use as a currency.  No one buys stuff at the grocery store in bitcoin, gas, utilities, rent, sex toys, all of these things are paid for 99.999% of the time with fiat.  Bitcoin has a loyal following, yes, but people just don't want to spend it.

It is possible in the near future that bitcoin will be a universal currency since even in small tradings or investments that we have right now we are using it globally.  What we might be expecting from now on is the multiplication of the number of bitcoin users so bitcoin can spread along with the number of users, the more users we have the more bitcoins we can circulate and accumulate.

Is it possible to make Bitcoin as our Universal Currency?! Just like English as our Universal Language. Since Bitcoin is known worldwide and accepted internationally do you think it is possible?

Is it possible if almost half of the people in the world using it. And if this bitcoin can help all user. English language is our universal language because almost all of the country knows it. If there are many user have bitcoin wallet in worldwide it is possible. Bitcoin is known in all country but if only few people use it theres no possibility that this coin will be universal Currency.
Yeah .that's the point there not all people use or don't want to use bitcoins .also the factor that not all are using internet maybe in the next few years to be universal currency.

No I wasn't making any statements related to blockstream or the blocksize debate.
Can a guy make a joke at the expense of another worthless repeat question posting
by a nub account without having to revert back to the blocksize debate?

My apologies. I was insensitive to how that allusion might be perceived.

I'm sure it could happen. but not as fast as today. bitcoin could become the currency for the entire world and is recognized by all governments of the countries within 20 years. I am optimistic that it happened and it will become a reality. bitocin future is so bright.

Yes it takes a long time before it happen, but the possibility is always there, we just need the right time for it to happen.
Once the central banks, government have it's agreement to use bitcoin as a universal currency.
So that, where ever you will go you use it.

Not sure if we'll ever reach a point where everyone uses Bitcoin and nothing else. It's not impossible but I just don't see it happening in the foreseeable future. Anyways Bitcoin is doing just fine as it is, more people are joining everyday and it is already being used all over the world. No need to hope for greener pastures, we're living the dream right now  Wink

Bitcoin is the universal currency for now, but it's only a few percent of the total people in the world. Bitcoin must make a revolution, and that can make many countries in the world to interested with that. So, it a real progress for bitcoin to make a future of the the revolution.

still a ways to go, more people must begin to accept the currency, if we are to compare with English you have to be able to pay with BTC in the majority of restaurants and hotels, for example, and the currency needs to stabilize.

Yes, Bitcoin already a universal currency. Well, almost. It can be used wherever you have a smartphone \ computer and internet. But not all countries have the Internet! In some countries Bitcoin prohibited.

But I hope in the future, in connection with the development of technology, the economy, and technological literacy of people, Bitcoin will be available everywhere, as you said as English language.

Definitely. Bitcoin is designed as a universal/global currency because it can be used anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access. It has the potential of being a universal currency, and it IS a universal currency.

I can send funds right now to anyone on the forum whether they live in Asia or Europe. It doesn't matter. That's the beauty of BTC.

It is all up t the people. If they will like and will use it more and more for every purpose then this aim is every day near its realization. This behavior will obligate all the Governments and the Central Banks to take in consideration the legal use of it as a normal currency. At least this is the only way I see possible the "accomplish of this duty". The same was even with English. Was people that has given this status and not some Government or Institution.

The scaling question will always be with us, and I am not sure the solutions provided by the Core developers at this stage, would manage to handle such a load. To be honest, I doubt if even one of the other currencies would be able to serve that role. Yes, they can print money without limits, but people like diversity and own identity; so I doubt if this will ever work.

I think one day it'll be possible to be up there so that BitCoin will be universally accepted as a regular currency. Time will tell though.

Yeah that's for sure that one day bitcoin will be use by more countries and they will adopt it as universal currency.
And that's the bitcoins way in the future and we can't stop it.

just like English which is not being used all over the world bitcoin will never be used by everyone in the world. although bitcoin is already a Universal currency meaning it can be used by anybody in any country, but it doesn't mean they are going to leave their fiat for bitcoin.

Is it possible to make Bitcoin as our Universal Currency?! ...

It already is.
Bitcoin is currently used within the United Federation of Planets and also within the Empire & the Trade Federation.
We are all emailing and requesting that the Rebel Groups and the Jedi accept Bitcoin as well, but they still favor PiggyCoin.

And why should we rebels follow the lead of the Empire and settle for a coin with 10X slower block times and associated with the Trade Federation? (Is that another name for Blockstream?) Piggycoin! For freedom!

But i can confirm that the Spaceballs Universe now accepts Bitcoin as well.

We are on our way fellas! *Moon launch detected*

yes its already done BTC as a universal currency because BTC have been used in many other trading's. However BTC still have some competition with other currency or banks to stand as a universal currency. We do have to spread or use BTC to popular this in all the region.
