Yay a $30 jump overnight not bad eh?  Cheesy I didn't check the price this morning but apparently it's really there and we have passed the $475 mark guys! I think this price increase is just a small pre-pump and the real major pump before the halving hasn't started yet. If people cash out their alt coin investments and buy back into Bitcoin I guess the value of the alt coins will substantially decrease and we will see a lot of angry Ethereum bag holders complaining on the forum in the next 40 days or so  Grin I would recommend holding your Bitcoins at least till the end of the year because anything could happen to the price of Bitcoin with a market so volatile. Better to hold than be sorry later on  Wink

Wooh! At first I din't believe this post but now when I checked the rate, it's really $475 on blockchain. Just wished that I had saved my bitcoins earlier when I had 0.4 BTC in my wallet but now I have 0.1 BTC only. I don't think it's because of halving.

I hope your right OP I did just add more last paycheck before the halving
and would love to see it back around 600!!

lets do it, I mean once it breaks 500 theres no reason it cant go back to that
tested level

but I would sell half at 600 as I think if it hits 600 it will drop cause people will
take normal profits

I'm not willing to sell anything until we hit at least 1000 USD. If I have to wait a number of years then so be it.

yeah the rise proves that i was right once again when i said the fall in that past few days is the best opportunity for us to buy bitcoin $10-$20 below price before it starts rising again.

the trading volume is through the roof!

This is the typical FOMO I would say!
China started this pump, probably due to capital flights out of the YUAN, and the other exchanges started to follow.
It's great we are moving up, but I wouldn't get too excited for now.Let's see how things will develop until the end of the week.

Yep, we are flying right now. Think we might take this to $550-600 and then stagnate again

That would satisfy me, rise up to 550-600 just before the halving then rise up to around 800 once the effect of the halving has taken place, limited coin supply etc.

I'm certain we will achieve that, and much more. Because if there's something bitcoin price likes, it's the domino effect of price increase fueling more
and more users who then push the price even more. I smell another hype coming our way. hodl the door ^^

looking at btc-e.. it seems
that as of 00:00 (time of graph) on ETH/BTC tab the price of eth started to drop.
then as of 3:30 (time of graph) on ETH/USD tab the price of eth started to drop.
also as of 3:30 (time of graph) on BTC/USD tab the price of BTC started to RISE!

which is where other exchanges BTC/USD prices start to rise

it seems that something happened to hit ethereum's speculation negatively that happened 3 hours before people started buying back into bitcoin

(by the way i have noticed sometimes that btc-e has been the starting point that other exchanges follow(emphasis: sometimes))

I was a bit surprised by the surge of bitcoin's price. In a matter of days, it went up from $440 to $475, and now stabilizing at around $470. While this is good, I'm still hoping there will be another dip coming so I could buy more. Was able to buy a little at $439 and then suddenly this price. Are we in for an exciting rollercoaster ride?

It will cool off when transactions don't go through, it seems to already start happening, unless all the action happens in some exchange.

Also, volume is still very low...

So what do you guys make of this? Bitcoin value has been steadily climbing the past 48 hrs. A little bit more and we'll have passed the highest Bitcoin has reached in over 20 months! Any predictions?

It's more than likely that it's caused by the halving block reward but ... people should understand that they shouldn't sell just after the big price increase after the halving otherwise this will cause a huge price decrease .
I personally won't be touching my coins unless it reaches something like ~1200$ or more .

Not surprising really on China it reached $480 this is the best time to hoard bitcoin after the halving we will stedy increase of it's price I think everybody is anticipating this ,let;s see how it goes after the halving what would be it's effect in the market..
