Do you think Bitcoin could go to $6000, and in what timeframe?   And if it did, what would necessitate the value of other top altcoins going to the $600 range?

if the altcoin has any potential to grow that big then it will go there regardless of bitcoin price and it can even surpass bitcoin price.

but only if it has the potential.

also i think bitcoin can reach $6000 a little up or down but it will take a couple of years.

And which part are people forgetting where the total number of coins kinda has an effect on the price of one of them.

That's a stat that's a bit important.

I think it's most definitely possible. Time frame is the question though, if I had to make a prediction I'd go for 2020.

The value of fiat currencies are dropping, and inflation are slowly eating away it's value. In a few years, you will pay $300 for a Mc Donalds burger, and $600 for a Alt coin will be nothing new or spectacular. The $6000 price tag for a bitcoin will be a sad day, in an environment like that.

So yes, a $6000/BTC and $600/Alt coin is not totally unrealistic, but it depends what the buying power of a $ will be then. ^hmmmmmmm^

Do you think Bitcoin could go to $6000,

yes everything is possible with bitcoin but the possibility of $6000 is so little.

and in what timeframe?

if it happens it will happen in more than 5 years.

it will not "necessitate" anything because altcoins are not linked to bitcoin in any way!

think of it this way: are you really willing to pay $600 for a shitty pump and dump coin that has no usage for you except trading?
there is no demand for 99% of altcoins and the only so called demand is the traders buying them to pump.

Currently there is no altcoin with a total value of $600. Maybe if there is a coin which has 1 total coin in existence, which is heavily pumped, maybe Smiley

ANother day another  speculation again. Well we have the right  to express our opinions and views but  these things are repeating all over and over again. Back to the topic, i would assume that  price would definitely reach by bitcoin but it would takes time since $6k price is high to consider and  as we  saw the   situation  of bitcoins price of now  its still on $610+ and even going lower gradually.

$6000 is a bit high price but nobody can say it surely happens or doesn't happen!

but one thing is for sure, altcoins can not just rise up because bitcoin price has gone up. some of them may get hyped up and get pumped but it will never be to above $10 range.

the only way an altcoin can go up is if it really has something to offer and not full of hot air.

Well, if the price of bitcoin higher, then there would be also prices altcoin high, maybe if the price of bitcoin to $ 6000, but I think if the price of bitcoin rose as high as it is, then the price of bitcoin highest possible $ 800- $ 1000, it's because altcoin also instrumental make bitcoin prices to rise

I would guess that it would take at least 5 years for bitcoin to reach $6000. It could even be much longer. Right now there aren't a lot of people that really use it yet.

Why stop at $6000?

Bitcoin to go to $600000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.

There, I fixed it for you.

why the hell would alts automatically follow bitcoin upward? there's only so much steam they can gain without having to actually deliver something. bitcoin at that price level means something has broken through. dunno what it would be.

Hard to say anything about altcoins in general.

The amount of coins makes a large difference, and the rate at which they produce.

An altcoin like DogeCoin would never be worth $600 because there are way too many dogecoins and they get created too fast. But something like Ether could be worth more per coin because there aren't that many Ether I believe.

And bitcoin most likely will see $6000 pretty soon, probably at or before 2017

Many people think that the price will gradually go up. I think that they will be a turning point and everyone would want to put soe of their wealth in crypto. It will create a snowball effect and the price will go balistic

It could go. Or not. As said, no one knows. But what's almost certain is that altcoin prices won't keep up with Bitcoin if it goes that high: people will most likely be selling for profits on altcoins and buying Bitcoin.

well no one knows..
any mathematical estimate is based on pure guess and speculative numbers formulated in a manner that would confuse people into believing it was correct purely because they cannot understand it.

but seeing as bitcoin is at the $600 area and your looking for a price point of $6000 in the future.. lets just use some quazi-maths and just say
10 years, now u can run along skipping and dancing and happy someone told you a number you are ok with..
