Woohoo!  Will definitely have a bitcoin Friday party in Cleveland, OH, USA at the only restaurant accepting bitcoins (for now)!

Which restaurant are you talking about?  I believe The Wine Spot and The Tavern Company both do.

RIP Mommy
Well if noone ever spends their bitcoin then the overall bitcoin economy will not prosper which will lead to a long term lower value for your bitcoin that you have hoarded.

There is NO "bitcoin economy", if everything is being instantly converted to fiat. Once businesses close the goddamn loop and pay suppliers, employees, rent in BTC, THEN there will be a bitcoin economy.

28th of November. I'll make a new thread for the event tomorrow.

How many are you aiming for this year?

Blockchain is busy with transactions: http://www.bitlisten.com

I wonder how the number of transactions today (Bitcoin Friday) will compare with a typical Friday?

Made my first purchase!

Even though QT failed to generate a confirmation in less than the necessary 15 minutes..., and the shopping cart timed out.

Same - first purchase done!

And where does it say that LiteCoin can handle more transactions then Bitcoin? It doesn't matter that LiteCoin has "faster" transaction. It needs to have more confirmations then Bitcoin before it gets accepted.

EDIT: Changing your post and removing the Litecoin part doesn't help.
