Looking forward to this! Hopefully we can hit the goal of 500 merchants! That would be a HUGE step forward.

Can't believe I didn't see this thread until now.

BitBrew will be participating again this year, of course.

All Things Luxury will definitely be interested in partaking again this year. We were really impressed with the results last year. Glad to see the community is still behind this great idea!
Can't wait to see your deal this year! Smiley

Damn, it would be awesome if someone would organize a party in The Netherlands.

You should set it up! I know there are Bitcoiners in the Netherlands, I've met a couple!

I know, I met a lot during the European BitCoin Convention and I would gladly set one up. I just don't have the funds, nor the time, nor the skills required to do such a thing Tongue

All it takes is a Facebook group, somewhere to meet, and a couple invites Wink
Well I might do it if nobody else does. We'll see.

Hello Bitcoiners!

Bitcoin Black Friday officially launches on Nov. 29th.

This is the second annual event. We had a Bitcoin Black Friday last year and had about 75 participating merchants. Here's a rundown of Bitcoin Friday results from last year. http://codinginmysleep.com/bitcoin-friday-results/

Everyone had a great day... Let's do it again, but bigger!

This year we're aiming to get 500 (Yes, I said 500) merchants signed up and offering deals on their websites ONLY for Bitcoin users ONLY on November 29th.

For those of you who didn't participate last year, Bitcoin Friday is a one day sale two weeks before the great American pre-holiday sale: Black Friday. It is a chance to prove a couple things:

  • Bitcoin is not only used for buying drugs. Huge this year with all the news coverage of the Silk Road closure.
  • People will spend bitcoins, and not only hoard them.
  • That the Bitcoin community treasures its Bitcoin merchants and appreciates their work and contribution to the Bitcoin economy.

Last year we had a couple spontaneous Bitcoin Friday parties erupt (looking at you Bitcoin Kiez and Room77 Wink). This year Bitcoin Friday will hopefully be sending packages of goodies (from BF participating merchants!) to groups that host Bitcoin Black Friday parties. Think Bitcoin Friday t-shirts, Alpaca socks, and other Bitcoin-related items. If you're interested in hosting a BBF party, let me know over PM. I'll be promoting this portion of Bitcoin Black Friday more in the next week.

So, I'd love some feedback on how the project has developed, please reply below with suggestions for this year's sale!

If you're interested in signing up for an alert when the sale begins, or listing as a merchant (it's free!) go to our website: http://BitcoinBlackFriday.com
