If we look at the price movements of top altcoins in the market that have increased in price, although not as fast as the increase
in Bitcoin which has now managed to rise to $ 21,300. But it means that investing in altcoins is also profitable, as long as you choose
top altcoins that have high volume. So this year is not just for Bitcoin, but altcoins are also this year worth counting on. Especially
altcoins such as ETH, XRP, LTC, BCH and LINK, their prices continue to rise following the price of Bitcoin.

Is it possible to have Bitcoin bullrun wherein altcoin continues to trend in red
This question is a bit tricky. Are we talking about the BTC price vs fall in price of alts in sats or BTC price vs fall in price of alts in USD
If we are talking in USD value, it's possible but rarely happens.

This is Bitcoin is the most commonly used base for most trading pairs against alts. So any increase in the BTC price in USD value means an increase in the price of each sat.
So when bitcoin price moves, altcoin prices move in the same direction

Is it possible to have Bitcoin bullrun wherein altcoin continues to trend in red,
What's your opinion? Will this be the year of only Bitcoin?
Proofing by the market historical data, yes will have Bitcoin bullrun and the altcoin market alway trend in red but later turn green after Bitcoin reach a specific phase. Besides, it already happening at the time of this post though the bullrun may come in different dimensions, it will certainly happen.

What's your opinion? Will this be the year of only Bitcoin?
If you look at the market for the past few months the entire market move higher along with bitcoin and when the price of bitcoin started to rally from $10k i expected everyone to dump the top alts but it never happened as all the top alts was rising along with it . In the past we used to see the alts going down whenever the bitcoin rallies but it is hard to predict what the future holds.

Since the dominance of Bitcoin has risen above 50%, it is a sign that 2020 is bullish for bitcoin and bearish for altcoins,
but not all altcoins are bearish, top altcoins like Ripple, Litecoin and Ethereum are bullish and DeFi tokens are not manipulation,
this is real because after halving gets investors into Bitcoin.

Bearish of altcoins has come to a point that every investors were tired of long term price declination. Many of us who owned altcoins didn't able to recover back their capital but went so down even though bitcoin progress was already gaining. The expectations didn't went to reality, unless top altcoins like xrp holders will remain trusting their coins platform everything will be back to track and pumping season commences on selected alts.

It's pretty hard to see the price of BTC is dropping slowly and to me it's not looking like a temporary dumps nor a correction majority of the crowd were so much happy to see BTC price was skyrocketing after 3years and I expected it will continue till January unfortunately this entire week was so dull and yes as usually altcoins are dependent on BTC so no comment on this Cheesy.
currently the price of BTC continues to soar so investors and traders continue to benefit and now new investors entering the market have understood the conditions of the bitcoin market which experienced price corrections relatively often compared to market conditions in 2018. of course this can lead to a rally that occurs in bitcoin. But of course we also have to continue to monitor and consider the very high volatility that is happening in Bitcoin at this time, in my opinion the bullrun that occurs in BTC will not always cause bullishness in altcoin prices, sometimes the opposite situation is that the price of bitcoin has decreased instead, altcoins are pumped up price.

When it goes down but tries up again and again you know that it is not ready to fall again. The current price movements shows that we are not at a situation where we are going down today, which means we are not going up neither so it is just trying to make a move some direction.

When it tries to break over $20k again and again and fails, it goes down, that means even though we try to go down we couldn't so far, and that could result with either one day we are actually achieving and going above and at that moment we will go up a lot, or we are going to just fail and fail and eventually go down a lot. I do not know which one will happen and I am a bit scared about it, but I really hope that we will have the $20k barrier crashed down and go much higher later on.

Is it possible to have Bitcoin bullrun wherein altcoin continues to trend in red, we have witnessed that altcoins has been falling from grace in last few days wherein Bitcoin is steady (apart from today's dump) and heading towards $20k to set a new landmark. I am discussing about top altcoins here wherein we should not be considering coins with low volume which is manipulated consecutively.

What's your opinion? Will this be the year of only Bitcoin?
I believe that bitcoin can have a bull run again after a long time of waiting. If the price now is stuck on below $19k, it will be no problem for bitcoin price because bitcoin will be back to $18k and $19k, and it will start a rally to the highest price. But I am not sure if this year will be only for bitcoin because the altcoin will get the same opportunity as bitcoin.

The top altcoin, such as ethereum, will have its time to increase like bitcoin, but I guess that ethereum needs more time to grow and break $700. Sooner or later, ethereum will increase, and when that time comes, the price will break $600. And like bitcoin, ethereum will also make ATH.

Altcoins are not in a bear market, have you seen the prices lately? It is really doing awesome right now and they are all at least 2x higher than they used to be few months ago. Just because there has been a few drops here and there you can't just call it a big drop neither, it is something expected. That is why I honestly think that we should be calm about this and just assume that everything will go up until we are proven otherwise.

It is like law, where people are innocent until proven guilty, that is the same thing in crypto as well because it is going up until proven to be in a bear market and goes down 50%, until that happens I will keep believing that it is going up. That is the only way we could see bitcoin going really high really quickly.

Only bitcoin haven't performed well in this year. Though bitcoin have done better than alts but many altcoins price also increased enough in last few weeks. Top altcoins like eth, ltc, xrp, xlm price increased significantly. Most often you won't see bitcoin bullrun and altcoins bear market at same time. And if it happens, altcoin price also get pump after that. At some point bitcoin price shows stability and alts shows good upward move.

See how crypto market was at the beginning of this year. Historical Snapshot - 01 January 2020. Few top altcoins price have increased much in percentage than btc.

Bitcoin bull run will come. You don't have to worry and make sure you are ready for the coming.
Even if the price is now still below $19k, it will increase at the right time, and bitcoin will rise so high if that happens.
The next target for bitcoin will need to break $20k so that the price will have the time to get the next bull run.
Maybe this year will be for bitcoin but in the next year, bitcoin will still increase, and altcoin will follow to increase.
The top 10 altcoins will have a chance to increase, but the other altcoin list will have the same opportunity too.
But unfortunately, we don't know which altcoin can increase first, but ethereum will have that chance.

It happens numerous of times already. In fact, it is normal to see the altcoins getting negatively affected by a rising Bitcoin. That is already acceptable because people would normally shift to Bitcoin while the rally is ongoing. That adds to the decreasing prices of altcoins. But there are also times when the top altcoins are also increasing in prices simultaneous with Bitcoin. That could mean only one thing and that is the entire cryptocurrency market is really bullish.

I think this is the year for both Bitcoin and top altcoins. We don't count the shitcoins.

I do not think it is possible for bitcoin to moon and altcoin to dump simultaneously; the realistic part is that not all altcoins will react to btc pump; but most altcoins will definitely improve in prices and volume; if you compare this recent bitcoin bull run; prices of etherum, litecoin, waves, and even stellar xlm; were improved. It is up to you to hodl the right altcoins; identify the right tokens by doing your own research.

Don't worry about the price of the altcoins because they have right time when the value of altcoins turn into green so it means that is increasing.

Maybe this is the year only for the bitcoin and for the next year when the altcoins bloom but the important is we are experiencing rising to the price of the bitcoin and not both dump the value and high possibility in the year 2021 is the year of the both bitcoin and altcoins that makes a lot of profit for us.

it seems that we are moving towards dark days, days when we will see major bleeds in the markets and altcoins will be the main protagonists of these big dumps. Bitcoin is struggling to stay above $18,000, but I don't think it will be able to resist for long and then it turns into $17500 and the danger zone is $16,000 if it drops below $16000 we will see $14000 again. I'm looking forward to buying it on the dip if there is a big dump.

It's possible, when altcoin whales and investors suddenly shift to bitcoin because that is where the money is. I don't think it will be sustainable though. as far as I can remember, when we have a bull run in 2017, the dominance of bitcoin is around 40%-50%. But currently we are way above at 60%. So it's a long way to go to see this kind of scenario, it could happen though when bitcoin really goes on dramatic rise in the coming months.

I believe that there is a season for altcoins.

Exactly maybe it is not an altcoin year because by this time in 2017 when bitcoin was bull, altcoins were also in the bull picture which made many investors in altcoins to cash much profit by December before the bull stopped. This time has not been the same because bitcoin has been on bull a long time after the first quarter of this year but investors are yet to see any profit measuring to what it was in 2017.
2018 first quarter seems to be the altcoins year. Although there were ico projects in mid-2017 that was also making a lot of noise and investors raked money from it.
The price is still up considering how much they are a few months ago. But today made users panic and sell while their transactions are stucked up pending  Cheesy
That's what happens when they only look at the recent price change but don't look at the past months.

In the larger bull run that will likely take place during the next year, pretty much everything will rise a lot. Bitcoin will make huge gains, as will Ethereum, but so will many altcoins. Many altcoins will make much larger gains than Bitcoin just due to speculation and them being tiny in comparison so relatively little money is needed to boost them. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the Altcoin market will all flourish in the next year. Altcoins may go through pump and dumps since they are nearly all just betting chips, but the whole altcoins market will rise substantially as bitcoin does.

I do think Bitcoin will grow even larger than it is now, in comparison to the altcoin market, because Bitcoin (and to a lesser extent Ethereum) is what institutional investors are interesting in. Institutional investors will have zero to very little interest in coins outside Bitcoin and Ethereum, maybe just a few more like LINK or some in the DeFi space will get a little institutional money, but the rest are just schemes for traders to make money, not stuff that big money is gonna risk their wealth in.

I expect over the next few years, as this bull run plays out and we move into the next market cycle, Bitcoin will maintain a 65-70% market share, Ethereum will move up to perhaps 20%, the next 5-10 coins that actually have relevance will have 5-10% market share combined, and all the rest will get mostly wiped out an have like a 5% market share. So while Altcoins should do very well in the next year, overall we should see Bitcoin and Ethereum eat further into the altcoin market. Trillions of dollars will be coming into Bitcoin this decade, while the altcoin market should only see a tiny fraction of that amount from traders and retail investors.
