Like so many parts of business life, there are usually only a few core winners who will dominate a market. You can look at some examples in tech - Google rules search, Amazon rules shopping, Microsoft and Apple rule software/hardware. Yes, they are not the only contenders but they can dominate large parts of their market and that gives them such a strong ongoing advantage. Bitcoin will always be king of the cryptocurrency market and while there are a few others who have reached high popularity, the general public will stick with the most popular and what they know. This naturally drives the value and describes the price action you see playing out.

I think it's possible and all those altcoins that are paired to BTC will also rise up when the traders see that the value of their token will also increase even when selling at a current market price. The Satoshi count doesn't go up but only the USD price.

Bitcoin dominance is indeed high, this is what makes Bitcoin analyzed very bullrun, and altcoins are bearish,
but not all altcoins are bearish, in fact many altcoins are bullish, such as XRP, Theta, Tfuel and Ethereum.
so this year has really changed a lot.

The price is still up considering how much they are a few months ago. But today made users panic and sell while their transactions are stucked up pending  Cheesy

i have never felt any difference between the "top" altcoins and the "bottom" altcoins apart from the size of their hypes. they all perform very similar to each other in the sense that whenever bitcoin price is changing there is a lot of selling in altcoin market where people convert their altcoins to bitcoin. for example last week when price was shooting up lots of altcoins were dumped. and today when bitcoin is again having a drop there is a lot of altcoins being dumped again.
the altcoin bull markets usually happen when bitcoin price is stable. and we may not see it for a much longer time since we are in a volatile state right now where price keeps testing $20k until it is broken.

I believe that there is a season for altcoins.

Exactly maybe it is not an altcoin year because by this time in 2017 when bitcoin was bull, altcoins were also in the bull picture which made many investors in altcoins to cash much profit by December before the bull stopped. This time has not been the same because bitcoin has been on bull a long time after the first quarter of this year but investors are yet to see any profit measuring to what it was in 2017.

But last bull run. Bitcoin trigger the momentum. Since we can observed that some alts don't gain during the bitcoin spiking, well I guess it's proven that bitcoin has demand based on the market volume. If there are altcoins that will trigger the Altcoin season then its definitely ethereum. Once eth reaches 1k to 2k price, I'm sure major altcoins will step up and produce a good volume. I can see eth will trigger the bull season this time. Maybe still rely on bitcoin but with potential of eth to drag some altcoins are highly possible to make another huge bull run.

When viewed from the dominance of Bitcoin which has risen again at 63%,
of course this makes the opportunity for Bitcoin to increase again, yup, today there are still many people who hold Bitcoin than altcoins,
and it is predicted that Bitcoin is bullish, but for altcoins this is an opportunity to be able to buy cheap

I believe that there is a season for altcoins. Just like what an altcoiner believes that most of his altcoin will pump. The only basis that I've got is during the bitcoin bull run and the alt season comes after it.
That is why it is possible for bitcoin to continue pushing its price higher and making the altcoin market bleed.

If this happens some coins like eth will see a massive spike at some point.

With the eth 2.0 stuff and litecoin potentially testing out mimblewimble before Bitcoin gets it (if that's still happening) I think we'd see a huge run on them too, it can be just after the bull run but probably won't be too long after.

Is it possible to have Bitcoin bullrun wherein altcoin continues to trend in red, we have witnessed that altcoins has been falling from grace in last few days wherein Bitcoin is steady (apart from today's dump) and heading towards $20k to set a new landmark. I am discussing about top altcoins here wherein we should not be considering coins with low volume which is manipulated consecutively.

What's your opinion? Will this be the year of only Bitcoin?
