I really don`t know can bitcoin disappear or not, all I know that people from here will panic, more bitcoins more panic. Outside this place I don`t think people will even notice something like this to happen. When they see bitcoin disappeared and many people lost money, they will just say "did we tell you to not mess with that things?"
I notices what people talk here, and nobody say that will disappear soon, so this thread is just something imaginary. OP had some dream and he sheared with us all he saw there. I don`t believe this will happen in some near future.
To me it doesn't matter whether it's named has bitcoin or whatever .as long people using the internet for their transactions there will always be a need for some .
As nothing is assured with bitcoin as well other digital currencies anything might happen. In my view even if due to some sort of reason bitcoin gets disappeared, something similar to bitcoin will truly arises and grows high.
1st thing the bitcoin will not disappear as they can be kept in cold storage so there's no point saying it can disappear :X

bitcoin cannot disappear because right now it is just too big for that to be honest
yeah, bitcoin is a huge thing at the moment and it can only grow in the future as more and more companies will be accepting it so people will adoptHowever, there is also a chance that bitcoin can have problems and the devs cannot fix that problem. I'm not saying that it will happen, but there is a chance of it happening. Not everything is 100% the same. The only thing that is constant is 'change'.

Bitcoin have a bright future and it already well developed and it already spread in huge numbers and there are lot of investors to it then it would be impossible for bitcoins to disappear unless if the world would suffer global internet loss permanently then thats the time bitcoin would be dead and also to other things that rely to internet. Instead attention investors new to bitcoin is beneficial, they become more understood and understand about their doctrine after the bitcoin, then automatically invest using bitcoin. But I think it cannot always rise - some day will all pop like a bladder.
nah bitcoin will never become scam why? because many investors are using bitcoin currency where they can trade, gamble and invest because here they can double their money in easy ways because of gambling and for those saying that bitcoin will disappear soon don't believe them they are not the owner so how could they say the bitcoin will become scam soon. for me as the year past bitcoin will become useful and more reliable bitcoin cannot disappear because right now it is just too big for that to be honest

Even if BTC disappear it will make a history and everyone will remember how bitcoin has been useful, however for now bitcoin is a tremendous currency online it will continue to be useful as long as there is still BTC available.

I don't think it will happen but I also think YES to your question, it certainly can happen. Its all virtual and with that the vulnerability is there of course. And people will surely panic, you'll see some heart failures as well if that happens. But hopefully and probably it won't. And if bitcoin is a scam, what will happen in world?

I don't see any possibility of bitcoin being unused because if they're scarce then there would be more demand of it as it human psychology proves that the less we have is the more we want.
The lesser it becomes the more people want to have a piece of it? Just like rare items or paintings and others stuff that are hard to find?
I was thinking the same thing. Why would the increasing mining difficulty break down BTC's value? I have seen the progress how mining difficulty was increasing and BTC's value was going up in the same time. I think, there are more important factors than mining difficulty at a crypoturrency and BTC's current value proves that. There are several altcoins that are easier to mine than BTC and are their values better than BTCs? Nah.
There are too many miners nowadays that is why it is becoming harder each day.
