Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value.

Take paying a cup of coffee for example. To pay your coffee with bitcoins, one must get bitcoins first, either by mining or buying bitcoins with other kinds of money (*cough*fiat*cough). It ends up being a quite complicated process, don't you think?
Until we reach the point where paying for a cup of coffee is as easy with Bitcoin as it is with cash, we will never get mass adoption. And as far as I see it, there is no way of simplifying the acquiring of bitcoins.

Bitcoin can not really replace fiat we know that bitcoin is a very good currency in this internet and has a asset and any many alternative coins if you are going to or if there a chance that bitcoin will replace fiat then how about the other currency ? Is bitcoin gonna cut out the entire relationship with fiat?

The very first thing is that bitcoin is not going to replace fiat, atleast not in early future, because we can see that bitcoin is still not well-known in all over the world, though there are people using it from every corner of the world but that is not enough to make it replace fiat, it will need to be discovered by everyone living on earth in order to do that, and also the limited amount of bitcoins can be a hurdle in the way too.

I would say, when the day comes bitcoin as a centralized money and if all the government announces we can use the bitcoin any kind of transaction like paypal. Then bitcoin will replace the fiat and It will become the leader for the all currencies and transaction mediums.

It's possible but for now it's not.. bitcoin need to be introduced worldwide even in some remote areas of the country.. their technology should be updated to have people from these remote areas can access the internet.. and it will take some years before this will happen, but the idead is good but it's not possible for now.

Yes because they have different uses. One is for online while other one is for real life transaction daily. Though bitcoin is becoming popular , fiat also remains the daily currency being used. Each I think will remain.

Yes that is right to say that currently bitcoin needs fiat, as we can see that bitcoin is not yet so much introduced in all over the world and that is the reason that bitcoin is not give as such facilities as we are expecting from bitcoin, but hope that a time will come when all the people of the world will be using bitcoin and then bitcoin will no need of fiat any more.

Wrong. Fiat dont really need bitcoin. Of it does please provide some proofs that it does need it. I havent read an article like and I would love to see it until the end if there is one.

So is it that hard to ban the Altcoins too? What about a low that would ban the cryptocurrencies themselves? This can be done very easy. I lived with this idea that Bitcoin would be disallowed by the governments, but it looks like Switzerland wants to accept it at their Central Bank! This is a bad and a good piece of news for us... Bad because Bitcoin was meant to be anonymous, and good because it's going to get popular so the price will go higher.

If Bitcoin gets banned, other cryprocurrencies most likely will die on their own eventually or will just lead a pathetic existence (as if they don't lead such existence right now) since without Bitcoin by their side most people will quickly lose interest in these currencies. Really, what's good in starting to use some altcoin and pour money into it if it will get banned in absolutely the same way and as promptly as Bitcoin was banned before once this altcoin gets some traction?

Though this is unlikely that Bitcoin will get banned any time soon

what you don't realize is that when government hypothetically bans bitcoin they will ban usage of all crypto currencies. that means there is not going to be any place in your country that you could use bitcoin or any other crypto currencies (that includes altcoins). this usage can be shops that accept bitcoin payment or even trading.

and if you want to use them only online with things like VPN or TOR then people will stick with bitcoin because there is no point moving onto another altcoin which has no usage anywhere else.

Bitcoin is just made by computer and i think if internet was gone bitcoin is useless so fiat will be still needed.
Honestly bitcoin is just alternative payment for some stores or here online. we are choosing bitcoin because of good benefits that the price is increase and not stable.. bitcoin is growing right now and many stores are created locally like in paris that has 20 stores added that accepting bitcoin as payment. but it is not a good reason that bitcoin replace our fiat..

Fiat has been in wide usage only for a few hundred years, with varied success at that. Before fiat, gold had been money for a few millenia. Now gold is no longer money (though this is debatable), but it is still traded for fiat. Could gold be used as money today? There is no doubt about it, absolutely. Would it need fiat? Why on earth if it had been money for so long without any fiat sticking around? Then why would Bitcoin need fiat if it essentially mimics gold best features but without bluntly copying its drawbacks?
