BULL RUN until 2030
October 11, 2016, 03:01:14 AM
i do agree that bitcoin cannot replace fiat. and that fiat cannot be completely eradicated and i don't see it happening anytime soon especially now when bitcoin is still under development.
but i do have hopes in the future that it can be used in daily life as easy as paper money.

I also believe that fiat will still be used. Many still do not know about Bitcoin. It will take much time to until Bitcoin becomes equal to a centralized exchange
Some might know bitcoin but we cannot expect that they will be interested with bitcoin, the fact that bitcoin is only good for online transaction it has only limited features, fiat are both for offline and online transaction so fiat is more dominant than bitcoin and it cannot be replace by bitcoin.

Yes, got you intrigued, didn't it?

Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value.
However, it cannot and will not replace current fiat money that the entire world it using. It just cannot.
Take paying a cup of coffee for example. To pay your coffee with bitcoins, one must get bitcoins first, either by mining or buying bitcoins with other kinds of money (*cough*fiat*cough). It ends up being a quite complicated process, don't you think?
Until we reach the point where paying for a cup of coffee is as easy with Bitcoin as it is with cash, we will never get mass adoption. And as far as I see it, there is no way of simplifying the acquiring of bitcoins.

Mining is complicated, but you can give same example with fiat - as you have first to print them, and so on, bitcoins are already generated, so it is nothing hard

Behind every fiat there is a nation wit a government.
Behind bitcoin there is just the bitcoin community.
I do not think that bitcoin or any other decentralized cryptocurrency can ever be a replacement for fiat.
At least not the major ones.

I believe that all the Bitcoin will replace centralized currency. Bitcoin is the currency of the future. Sooner or later it will happen, and this will benefit people

I think people will be using both alot in the future, some people want their currency to be fully backed and regulated.

i think fiat will eventually die, but not before a few generation will die too, we need new people to use new technology, not old man that can't understand it, bitcoin will be big, in 2100+ i believe

Well I think we wont be seeing that change if that is really how long it will take. Better just make use of it now while we still can or pass it up to a new generation children and grandchildren.

If i am not that futuristic person then i would surely thinks as you do as well but when every time that i am going to think about it i could always say that their would really be a possibility. I was able to read some article not so a while ago and it was all about the radio, the article discussed about radio being obsolete because of the fast technology era.

this bitcoin never can replace and take over fiat money real money
because bitcoin is nothing physic only digital curency
and no high regulate in all country
just because bitcoin digital currency instead of cash, but it does not mean bitcoin can not replace fiat? though it sounds impossible,
but I think if bitcoin is used by most people in the world, it is not possible fame of bitcoin could exceed fiat right ?

yes i think its hard, but if for some reason bitcoin is going to be worldwide and all country accepted bitcoin then it can be possible. but i think its need long time before it can happen and we have to wait.

I think bitcoin will be widely used and accepted in future but its hard to believe that it can ever replace fiat as fiat has support from the Government and the society and it also holds huge market cap.

Agree even though bitcoin would be  progress much  on the  future  but as you said  it wont possibly replace  fiat anytime soon because  fiat is supported by government and  almost of people do use this  for a long time already and  they would intend to  switch  quickly to bitcoin   is not easy thing to do and  not all people are knowledgable  on bitcoin.

Fiat system is worldwide. Imagine one country changing it. If a strong country will start then the others might follow but I doubt that will happen. Their strength can be seen through the value of their fiat so if they change that it is like they are saying their money dont have value anymore.

Which makes country maintain their fiat even if its value starts to fall, that's their pride.. Bitcoin replacing fiat is not possible, the world has too many currency and I think that's the number one reason... The only possible way I think for bitcoin to replace fiat is when a strong country adopt it as their currency and colonize other country and change their country to bitcoin, which is very much impossible this days...  Smiley

Agree that bitcoin can only use in online transactions and fiat is much usable in our daily living even though we can do more profit in bitcoin and it will be more popular in the future fiat is still remain in the world.

Indeed, it would still remain and  fiat couldnt be  replaced  by any  digital currency  out there  even  bitcoin. As you said bitcoin is  only used  online  transaction  maybe there are some   merchants  do accept  in physical form  but its not  fully adopted  to be  considered  to  be succesful  just  like  on  fiat.
I agree with you though bitcoin will be popular and used by many stores as a payment option, but I'm sure that bitcoin will not be able to replace fiat, I think bitcoin is nothing but as a payment option or commodity investment alone will not likely replace fiat

From the current status it is obvious that bitcoin is no more only a commodity for investors or a payments  option alone but it is becoming a usual currency and on internet people are readily going to adopt it and are leaving other fiat payment systems. So I think it will replace on digital world.

Bitcoin will surely rule the digital world in future but it doesn't have that high capacity to replace fiat as in real world people will prefer to use only fiat as its easy and convenient for them.

disagree , as technology grow so fast people need an economy solution more than just fiat
and bitcoin come with the most modern currency with its benefits
i put a faith in bitcoin that one day people will used bitcoin everywhere just like fiat now
we are just not ready yet to accept this big thing, that's why you and many people around here sounds like pessimistic.
