I have just downloaded this version  but it's fine. I do not know what is your problem?
The wallet synchronazing will take 5 days or more to update blocks. Please be patient for it.

but the SHA256SUMS.asc at https://bitcoin.org/bin/bitcoin-core-0.14.0/ gives this: bitcoin-0.14.0-win64-setup.exe
415693ed81cfc4960bbfcb815529003405aefbf839ef8fc901b0a2c4ef5317d0

that file is giving me this:

Quote
f2 60 d5 2c f2 fe 91 c4 be 99 ed 6f cf 8a a0 de 66 9f f3 26 c5 da 92 0b 7e d3 a3 e2 ec 98 1e 0a

for "bitcoin-0.14.0-win64-setup.exe",  exactly the same as using the certUtil command, redownload the SHA256SUMS.asc file again, maybe you misclick something Smiley

I am definatly not getting that, getting f2 60 d5 2c f2 fe 91 c4 be 99 ed 6f cf 8a a0 de 66 9f f3 26 c5 da 92 0b 7e d3 a3 e2 ec 98 1e 0a by putting in

certUtil -hashfile bitcoin-0.14.0-win64-setup.exe SHA256

Where could i be going wrong?
That's the right hash. Your Sha256sums.asc file is bad.

Thanks achow101, I got the sha256sums file from bitcoin.org, i would have presumed that it would be right Huh  where are you getting the hash from ?

Could someone post a link to the SHA256sums.  I am using this command: certUtil -hashfile bitcoin-0.14.0-win64-setup.exe SHA256  which gives me: f2 60 d5 2c f2 fe 91 c4 be 99 ed 6f cf 8a a0 de 66 9f f3 26 c5 da 92 0b 7e d3 a3 e2 ec 98 1e 0a

for the next release, please ... introduce the scheduled saving of mempool (like every 10 minutes or every blocks).

the node don't save mempool when ... it crash suddenly.

If your node is crashing suddenly then you have worse things to worry about.

The mempool saving was originally written so that it wrote it periodically but writing 300 MB every N minutes is not good for performance or write durability of your media.  I suggest fixing your crashes, losing your mempool state is the least of your worries. Tongue

Poor Franky1 keeps spewing out his paid daily FUD, seems you dont like this awsome update, you cant say that about BU isnt it? jealous, no?

Look how many people working with Core..and you telling uss how Centralised they are LOL, while BU is in control of the Chinees Mining Cartel ..kug kug...a handfull of people Roll Eyes

it doesn't matter how many work with core if their contribution to core is meaningless, the core dev team is made by very few people, the other are a bunch of wannabe "i want to be notorious in this nerdy world"

Guys and Gals let's stop with this fighting over petty things.... The most important thing is, we have loads of people contributing positively to the

development and even "translation" of documents and they should all be rewarded with some recognition. Look at the movie credits and you will

see even the water boys are being thanked for their contribution. This in-fighting over petty stuff is causing delays in solving the real issues...

Blockstream or BU ......everyone is making some contribution to this experiment and the history will reflect that....   Wink ... Thanks for the info.

Franky has never contributed any code to anything, yet mysteriously thinks exactly like a programmer.

In other words, could Franky be a former Bitcoin programmer in a Franky mask, twisted and bitter that the other Bitcoin programmers didn't want him to ruin Bitcoin with destructive "ideas"...... it's not unlikely.

The list of those particular deadbeats is short. I imagine it's not the first time Garzik, Andresen and Hearn (has anyone ever seen Franky in the same room as those 3? Cheesy) have gone 3 ways on a conquest (note how Franky reveals his bizarre fantasies/proclivities about "stroking innocent sheep", likely an actual past-time of the real "men" who run the Franky account Grin)

In essence, the Franky account is, in private, a bunch of neeky man-babies arguing over who gets next turn with their inflatable sex-doll

And for the circus trolls I need to say: wtf someone bringing you a bottle of water from the springs and if you have any doubt you could go and test or boil the water, it doesn't necessarily mean that people will never drink any water just because a particular person was involved in delivering the water.

Kinds of people having the audacity to undermine one's voluntary contribution should not be taken serious at any level of society and often are the ones without any accomplishment of their own.

my point is that we should care more about THE CODE.
many times people say "core is made up of hundreds of people contributing"

but if those contributors are just spell checking, for example "GitHub" instead of "github" and not actually contributing to the CODE and RULES of the bitcoin network. thus it must be highlighted that core is not made up of hundreds of people really contributing. and instead just a dozen CODE contributors and a hundred spell checker contributors.

core should not over emphasis who is involved if they just have random shills who intentionally add a full stop or capitalise a noun just to fluff the numbers up a bit. as thats not true "peer review".
if the only thing these spell checkers are reviewing is the comments section of documentation and not the code itself its not truly helpful to the network or security of bitcoin.

i personally would applaud and hope lauda (when/if he learns C++) done something that helped the network and/or security of bitcoin. i just have a gripe with all of these people try to take a high ground for things that dont matter to the security of the network.

my method of being frank might be harsh. but my motive is to ensure better standards for something that has world reaching security implications to millions of people.

I haven't update my core wallet since ever and running version 0.13.0 now what do I need to do exactly? will I have to download blockchain again?
No, you don't have to download the blockchain again. First off, in case that you didn't already back up your wallet.dat, do it now! Secondly, download the appropriate version for your OS. In the case of windows:
1) Uninstall Bitcoin Core.
2) Install Bitcoin Core 0.14.0.
3) Start and point it to your datadir (where your blockchain and wallet is).

In the case of Linux, you just have to download the file and start using it. Alternatively if you're using PPA, then you have to wait until Matt updates it.

I only run it 5 or 6 hours a day and to store my coins and rarely sending anything from that wallet.
Am I still helping the network if not updating my client version? I'm dumb in technicalities and if there will be any need for me to even copy paste a file I wont upgrade Cheesy (joking of course)but I'd appreciate the auto update option in any program.

Stop trolling and useless ad hominem.

so is lauda a part of the core team now? can people that have no real skill in c++ just join the dev team and pretend to be the core team? isn't this dangerous i don't like it, they can influence the core for bad changes i think, really bad
No, and no. Nice signature spam.
