Just tell me how big the ship has to be and how many days you want to sail!

Also since it will be a BTC ship internet will be included in the price!

Let's book a boat let's book a boat lets book a boat yey ahoooooy Smiley
Nah, I know a lot of organising has to go into this BEFORE booking the boat!
The ship has to be BIG, I'm thinking at least one indoor pool, tennis court...mini golf would help...

for this you need at least 100 "high rollers" and 200-300 budget travelers

high rollers = people who will spend around 10-15BTC/day
budget = people who will spend around 1-3BTC/day

no tickets ..... as it will be hilarious to tell some people that they have to pay 39BTC to board the ship and then ask them for more money ...

and to make it all inclusive you will have to charge them all with 50 BTC at least ... how many people you know will pay 50 BTC to get on this ship?

Hold on a second, what? There are cruise ships going for $300 for 3 nights, all inclusive, that's only 1 btc atm.

A pool was created specifically for this.

It helps when planning something like this to know that people actually have the funds. BitPools helps with that.

you dont need to be locked in the cabin to use the internet. the invention of laptops, tablet pc's and smart phones cured that.

I meant the whole point is networking with other people, not shutting the world out.

i never said shut the world out. im just imagining the average passenger usually buys 10 minutes internet time just to say hello on facebook to family back home and send a quick picture or two.

imagine the internet costs/speed of people sending payments to buy a bitcoin T-Shirt onboard or to offer bitcoin faucet like giveaways to other passengers / interested parties.

yes alot of talking will happen but the lack of ability to show-off bitcoin, to actually use bitcoin without hindrance, is an issue that must be atleast considered.

kind of like setting up a different type of networking event and finding out the ships projector is not working. the little details cant be ignored or presumed to be capable of running during a cruiseliner.

i say this as i was on a cruise and found trying to just view the blockchain was an issue.

EDIT:
ah i just read your not experienced with organising, ok well hopefully someone more organized comes along that can see all the pitfalls and find solutions BEFORE booking the boat

Sounds like a blast, now how would we buy our tickets in bitcoin?  Wink

Well first we need a lot of ppl to be on board (no pun intended). Then we would have to find a good cheap deal for a ship. We either all buy in fiat individually (on the same ship), or we rent a whole ship in fiat and pre sell tickets in btc, but I can't organize it as I have no skills, it would have to be someone with experience. But if it goes ahead I'm definitely going and taking maybe 2 or 3 friends with me, that's 4 tickets secured so far  : )

Bitcoin conference/networking aboard a cruise ship,,

That  more liked pleasure, not a meeting

There are loads of businesses already doing this, it's not a new idea of mine. You can mix work with pleasure. As long as everyone is open to participate and network and socialise, not shut the world out and trade all day.

great idea for the social side, but one stumbling block.. and if you ever been on a cruise ship you'd know it..

internet/speed and costs.

I know but why do you care, it's quality networking time, conferences, etc, if you're gonna lock yourself in your room and trade btc all day long then why even bother coming along?

Bitcoin conference/networking aboard a cruise ship? Good idea? It wouldn't be that difficult to organize plus it would be more fun than the ones @ the Magic Kingdom.

Thoughts?
