With revolut you cannot deposit your own crypto. You also cannot withdraw crypto bought with revolut. Sounds like a joke but I am serious about this. Revolut team confirmed here.

I like Revolut's option of offering premium accounts and cards. Just sad that I do not qualify for an account. But thinking about it, this is not easy even for their customers. They probably have strict limits and I can imagine they operate like a bank or even PayPal. If you start withdrawing lots of money, they will freeze the account and start asking for documented sources of funds.

What would be nice is a bank which exclusively caters to crypto users. There is something exciting being developed in Singapore and it looks promising: https://getchange.com

It's already in place https://www.revolut.com/fr/cryptocurrency?lang=en or at least planned in the next following days but I think we can start to use it already. They are in partnership with 2-3 exchanges like coinbase. But you need to be a premium user or referer at least 3 users, and to be a citizen from the European Economic Area

I do not think that they will be able to serve their cards to some other countries outside than Europe as it is only the card providers who decide that to which countries they give the cards. That is why none of the card provider is able to to provide without the rules of the card providers which is visa or mastercard.

I don't believe it's exclusively Visa's move and decision to restrict these cards to certain parts of the world only. I'm convinced governments played a role in this decision. Visa has an interest in maximizing revenue and with that comes product expansion. You can't generate revenue by limiting products to certain countries only.

It's probably the US again, putting pressure on the EU and the UK which in turn orders Visa Europe to keep an eye on Wave Crest's card business.

Hi Everyone,

This ban or restriction is unfortunate. Just when I ordered my Crypto card and was getting use to it. Wavecrest drop the bomb on us! It's smella like government and corporate banks tightening the rope on crypto. Whats astonishing is that most if not all of them are connected to Wavecrest!

It was very convenient for myself and others, to load my master or visa debit card with crypto to spend.
From what I have read so far on this thread, is it only wagecan that offers this service that's not tied to Wavecrest and does issued crypto debit card worldwide outside of the European Territory?

I heard Wirex is working on a solution, just no official date as yet. There must be other options available now?

I recommend using the WageCan golden card. I have it and it works flawlessly. The card is not issued by Wave Crest. WageCan operates in a stable jurisdiction with a sound and solid economy.

There is a KYC process which is easy and not complicated.

Another card provider which is also sending replacement card is cryptopay, although now they will ask for complete verification before sending you bitcoin debit card.

Will check wirex too.

Recently found about okpay.com debit card which actually supports bitcoin deposit. I will order that one too..

Well, they returned the card fee (and DHL fees) for both my USD and EUR cards so this is a solid indication that they intend to discontinue the contactless cards. I hope they will find a replacement card system quickly. And hopefully it will be a lasting and stable one.

These are sad developments. I still have full faith in Cryptopay. Their cards (and that iOS app!) never failed me. Wave Crest's cards were really good and solid. Sad to see Visa restricting the rest of the world. Visa, being a US company... there might be a connection there. Just healthy speculation on my part but the government might be playing a hand in all these deals in an effort to tighten its grip on the bitcoin community.
