So someone has bought these obscure TLD's and now they are reselling them for $5000 a pop. There must be some really gullible people that would fall for this or else they won't be doing such a stunt  Grin

These prices seem hugely inflated to me. And what countries are these domain extensions from or they have run out of ideas and just adding random ones now?
Oh yes, the prices are hugely inflated. It's just because they're trying to make easy money with an obscure domain with a popular internet item.

I think they're adding new domain extensions now, I can't think of any country that would have those domains.

Does the average internet user really give a shit about the last 2-3 letters of the website they're visiting? As long as it turns up on google and chrome don't send me away from it then I'm game to give it a visit. The whole domain fetish world lives in another dimension.

Basically these people are just sitting with their hopes on that someday somebody will actually buy their domains.Fact is,these domain are not really needed for a stable business to run nice niche traffic .There are lot of examples as such. All the domians with bitcasino or bitcoincasino are booked and being resold, fact is,a lot of other gambling websites with no bit or gamble in their names are doing quite well.SEO is all that matters.

Correct, those are not actual sale prices, but the asking prices of domain "investors" who are trying to resell.

Wow, It would be a waste if someone actually pays for .gq or .gq extension for $5000, even if it's for bitcoin domain itself. Their not attractive and professional since most known brands use either of (.com / .net / .org / .info) only and all these new extension (there are few others that are pricey as well) are pretty much nonsense.

Wait, but were they actually sold for that price? I seriously doubt that. You can announce any price you want but the question is who will buy for that price. I'm surprized they didn't set the price to $50k or $500k  Smiley

Each country has different rules for its domain name, some are really expensive to have, usually the worse the country is the more expensive country code domain gets.

never gone through any of those ga or gq tld or never seen them. It is always high priced like if you search for bitcoin.xyz or facebook.xyz both will cost you 5000$ but for othername.xyz it cost less than 1$. From this it is sure that bitcoin niche is similar to facebook niche. Good for bitcoin
