Bitcoin dominance is below 40%

Other altcoins gain dominance.

What do you think? It will correct like last year? I think we're going to have a big correction next days in altcoins price and market cap caused by an increase in btc price. But It will only recover 10-15% of dominance, not all.

If you look at the possible calculations then it is as you say. But look at the fact that currently Bitcoin still has the highest level of dominance and popularity. Bitcoin is still being developed and is now beginning to be applied to some financial sectors, I am sure if we can maintain this condition then we can see Bitcoin which is much better and can mean for our life in the future. Some Altcoins do show good prospects, but in the end we'll see that Bitcoin remains the best to be used widely in the future.

im beginning to believe that the dominace of Bitcoins comes to an end. Altcoins will grow a lot more than BTC will in 2018. Modern, technical usefull and innavativ coins will be implemented in business and will prove its worth.

But not all altcoins did get an increase.
This recent events might be just because of the holidays.
There could be a lot of reasons. Either they traded their investments from bitcoin to another alt or they withdrew.
Who knows?
If an altcoin gains a value it is because of the support and the marketing doing their jobs.
That is all.

Even if bitcoin will pump again, I am sure some of the altcoin like ethereum will maintain its cost.

There could be a possibility that bitcoin dominance might be slightly affected in the beginning of the year probably
because there are now many crypto currencies that are emerging on the market. Certainly, I think that bitcoin
would still continue to excel more than the other crypto currencies out there.

Part of it is because more alts are being generated, but soon everything will clear up. Whether in Bitcoin's favor or not .. it should clear up

In 2018, the price of bitcoin will increase again, but the market share will continue to decline. Because there will be more altcoin in the future, it is expected that this year will be more altcoin and a large number of practical applications.

yeah it is 40%, it is very hard to believe. i thought it should have been at least 5% by now but it is 40%.

Because many of the rest are contemptible junk with no usage or decentralisation. Anyone who thinks ten shitcoins should have same the value as the oldest of them all is primed to be raped by alts.

I can easily see it falling below 30% or more but this is no longer the same market and it's not in competition with much of the stuff out there.

Until Ethereum really took off, Bitcoin accounted for 85-90% of crypto marketcap. I think those glory days of Bitcoin are behind us. In mid-2017, Bitcoin's dominance was eroded due to blocks getting full and a bitter internal divide. This was reversed during the strong rally in the latter part of 2017, but has again started slipping. I don't think Bitcoin will account for more than 60% of crypto market cap (best case) in the future.

This is quite not surprising at all since it happened before, it is happening now and it can happen again in the future. This is just part and parcel of the kind of dynamic available in the whole cryptocurrency market. Aside from Bitcoin shedding some value due to the Big December Dip, the whole cryptocurrency world is accepting new entrants to the market on a regular basis so this can be a big reason why Bitcoin can be losing the dominance. Anyway, we should not be concerned more on whether Bitcoin remains to be on the top of the whole market or not...I would rather be concerned on its value or price. We are hoping that soon Bitcoin can be making a big surge towards the 20K level again.

i checked the https://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/ website the other day and i saw there are 1374 different altcoins are listed in there and just to think that bitcoin is only 1 out of 1374 (0.07%) and still has dominance over 40% of the market is unbelievable.

What do you think? It will correct like last year?

Bitcoin has a great adoption in relation to the altcoins and this will continue for a long time, but bitcoin will not always have dominance of more than 50% on the altcoins. every day more and more altcoins are created and the tastes/options of each person is difficult to predict and has the issues of transaction fee and delay in confirming transactions and this will cause that bitcoin does not have a domination of more than 50% over altcoins. Honestly, I do not even know why somebody still cares about that.

Why do you think that?

What goes up that comes down and stays down, however bitcoin follows something different pattern when it goes up, it does come down at times and then it shoots up to another level. Bitcoin was only a 1k last year at this time and look where it ended. People are confused currently, and they are being mislead and i feel it will be only a matter of time before it shoots up, and people run back to invest in it. So i dont really think that alts are gaining any edge over the crypto king.

I think it will be corrected, and the market will tell us what is the boss, and the bitcoin will be pulled apart from the second.

Yes agree with this but, Bitcoin will bounce back again and other altcoins need a strong technology that everyone supports and trust it.

Maybe, but I strongly believe that Bitcoin will give some of it's market cap to the altcoins. More and more alts are coming on the market and will take money from BTC and ETH.

Well, Bitcoin can't be the only one surging its price, some other altcoin needs to gain up somehow. It is really good that it happened for Bitcoin to become healthy.
