What more can you expect from Bitcoin. It is indeed the gold of cryptocurrency. A few hours ago it even reached $13k USD. But now it's again at $12.3k USD.
Altcoin is not exactly lagging behind. Yes, its price is not increasing as rapidly as btc, but still it is growing. Of course bitcoin does have an impact on the prices of altcoins.

Bitcoin dominance was above 70% above before the pump on Dec 2017 and I'm not saying that it may happen again but to what I feel right now it's less likely.

I think dominance will rise to over 70% again. We haven't reached 20K yet. If the Bitcoin price goes back into an upward trend from here, we will soon see 70% again.
But here's the catch. It won't go upward. I expect sideway action or maybe even a major correction to 9k levels. And that is the time when altcoins will shine.

I believe this is the result of bitcoin sole bullishness,I personally admit that like others are selling altcoins and adjusting our folio to put on Bitcoin as we see the potential profit continuously since the Facebook Currency has been deployed to market and now getting big advertising and favor Bitcoin solely.

Until bitcoin stabilized at one point of price we cant expect alt coins to bounce back so to my guess btc stabilizes at 11500 dollars then we can expect alt coins to see some price movement

Finally, bitcoin is back to its bullish mood and already reached $13k before pulling it back. The dominance might be the result of many investors transferring their altcoin funds to bitcoin and a significant numbers of institutional investors that buys bitcoin for the first time. Altcoins, as expected, sffered again in the gains of bitcoin as their funds shifted to the leading cryptocurrency that is now having the momentum. But I believe that altcoins will recover again when price go into another cycle again.

I don't have to worry questioning the dominance of Bitcoin as it has been dominant even before.
As it continues to increase of even stay at that range, that would limit the growth of altcoins but like the last bull run, it started that way and eventually drop. Maybe time will come dominance of bitcoin will be 30% again, that time we shall see a great run for altcoins, but I'm not expecting it soon since bitcoin bull run is just starting.

I have to say it's incredible how BTC are gaining more dominance, at least I don't have a large portfolio and I'm holding more BTC and ETH, for the ones who have more alts, this is time to think about selling and enjoy BTC rising, or wait until alts grow up again

If most of my portfolio is made up of alts, I would be selling them without any delay and moving to Bitcoin. The trends are clear and it is only going to solidify once the bull rally matures. Even the well established alts such as Ethereum are unable to keep the momentum, and the lower ranked alts are faring much worse. My advice is to cut the losses and move to BTC.

altcoins such as ethereum are just big not established. they are centralized so they have a lot of money to advertise it and also do pumps. with the hype they got where they are which is not dying off. in the end these coins are no different than the rest of them and it is going the same rout of decay over the long term.

I wouldn't call Ethereum as a centralized currency, but you may be having better access to reliable information compared to me. I would definitely label XRP as a centralized crypto, but ETH has too many users and its mining is very well distributed to assign it such a label. Also, unlike the case with many other alts, I would not call the creator of Ethereum as a money minded individual. Obviously he benefited financially out of his invention, but his main intention was to create a better cryptocurrency.

Nevertheless i think potential alts would rise along once Ethereum also starts rising, even though it has been rising steadily alongside Bitcoin.

I personally wouldn't hold my breath on this. Bitcoin dominance has been trending up since last year, and that may mean that people have smarted up and realized that a lot of alts are just pumps and dumps. The market has matured in a sense that the big names have been established and have rendered a lot of alts technologically obsolete. Bitcoin has also reached the mainstream's attention, seemingly for good this time, while alts' only market are niche traders. I seriously doubt that any alt will be able to keep up with Bitcoin's growth going forward.

Bitcoin has over dominated the market, showing the level of trust and confidence investors have for bitcoin which is good for any right-thinking investors. ETH has not been able to follow the bitcoin pattern, largely due to the fault you pointed out. I expect ETH and some altcoins to gain massively after the stability of the bitcoin.
That's the same thinking that I have right now, when Bitcoin reached it's temporarily stable value and stay for a while for sure investors will try diverting their profits, top Alts needs to be watch out and if you have spare money it's best to buy and store those good projects and wait for the pumped.

The dominance of Bitcoin is growing day by day as many crypto investors who join into the purchasing of ICO Coins have realized that most of these altcoins turn out to be scam projects so why not invest your holdings all into BTC. Nevertheless i think potential alts would rise along once Ethereum also starts rising, even though it has been rising steadily alongside Bitcoin.

Bitcoin accounts for 75% - 80% of the total market volume. Growth is growing. It is pushing all Altcoin behind. Bitcoin becomes so fast that many Altcoin investors suffer when all Altcoins are negatively affected by it. We need to limit the rise of Bitcoin because it generates that it will create a domino effect.

I don't agree with you on the volumes. As per coinmarketcap (I don't know how much reliable they are), the BTC volumes are less than 30% of the daily crypto volumes. This is very interesting because we can take this figure as a proof that more and more users are dumping their alts (including BSV and BCH), and shifting to Bitcoin.

BTW, the dominance now stands at an astounding 63.2%, and during the past 24 hours the exchange rates for BCH and BSV have gone down by -9% and -17% respectively against BTC.

im stucked at alts as well, i lost %60 of my protfolio. but this is not a good time to leave now.im telling that because if someone think about it, its not a wise choice.i dont think alts going down more. my opinion at least.

Correct Man especially ETH and XRP which is also growing up slowly not like BTC bull run which made only this June but this altcoins are still promising even though  it's left behind by bitcoin , so we just keep our holding for this particular coin .

Eth and BTC are really all that deserve any attention, Bitcoin is golden and eth has its smart contracts and willingness to adapt. Bsv,bch are bullshit propped up to try and stay relevant. Ripple is dead especially when Libra eats in centralized lunch.

bsv, bch should disappear in this community. nothing good to offer. just raking money from gullible users.

That’s why they are not pumping much because investors knows the real worth of the altcoins. Its the game of BTC and ETH, which they really deserve to make a new ATH again. Altcoins can only follow bitcoin maybe on the middle of bull run, but for now focus on bitcoin because the price can still go up to $20k after the dump for 2 days or more the price will be high.
