i opened http://thrucoin.com recently.

still some way to go on improving it, but it's available for use now.

lol. "The Amount to Send must be at least 1 BTC."

are you serious?

At Not@las how much is the fee for http://thrucoin.com he said he recently opened the site?

'Recently' was 1 year ago, please check the date on the post.

Thrucoin is now officially up for sale, as I really don't have time for it. That includes domain + website. Any active escrows at the time of sale will be finalized before any new owner takes over.

1 BTC seems like a reasonable minimum ... in January. That should probably get updated. If the person running it is not paying enough attention to update things like that, then you probably do not want to use their service.

If anyone needs escrow  person to person  for btc, ripplex xrp, or USD  I will help.  I won't charge you but accept tips.  PM with your amounts.

Not to be rude, but who are you and why would anybody trust you more than any other random guy on the internet?

My concern really was that my reputation could be damaged by buyers trying to scam me. Cheers, CZ

Then GPG and the blockchain are your friends:

Quote
Make sure both parties agree to the terms of the trade with signed messages
This allows either party to go public if the trade has become sour and stops your trading partner from claiming the details of the agreement were somehow different.

if there was a reliable way to track and prove irrevocably that the BTC had ben sent to the buyer [but] with BTC addresses being nothing but a random number of letters and numbers it's impossible.

It is not impossible.  It is fairly simple and straight forward, actually.  You are describing a standard contract.

I'm suspecting your concern isn't that there "isn't a reliable way to track and prove irrevocably that the BTC had been sent to the buyer" but instead that as a seller you are taking the risk of seeing a chargeback or other reversal when you accept PayPal, credit card, Moneybookers/Skrill, or any other reversible payment method.

That's a different problem entirely.

It is not impossible.  It is fairly simple and straight forward, actually.  You are describing a standard contract.

The contract between buyer and seller defines payment terms and simply says that delivery of the bitcoins is completed when N BTC are sent to the Bitcoin address X and all transaction(s) in which the coins were sent n have N confirmations.

This contract can be signed (physically, with a pen) and sent by mail, fax, e-mail attachment, whatever method is legally recognized in the two jurisdictions.  In certain jurisdictions, a digital signature (e.g. GPG) is acceptable as well.

It has been accepted that Bitcoin would benefit with the inclusion of a payment protocol which would lessen the need for an external contract like this, however that protocol has not yet been implemented.

If you are looking for escrow, there are several listed here:

Thanks. If there is a dispute and no agreement in sight, will i get my money back? (Like PP does)

if we really can't reach a resolution and all avenues have been exhausted, the only fair thing left to do would be donate the funds to a charity. the seller must also be protected from buyers claiming unjustified refunds.

this is really how the site should be set up, and i must apologise again for not putting the time into the site's development.

@payb.tc: What if i deposit an amount and the seller won't deliver? Are my btc lost in escrow?

i am happy to mediate any dispute, although i haven't updated the site to specifically mention that.
