I believe that the future stars would be altcoins, because a coin with 7 TPS would not be able to get mass adopted for payments. A bunch of altcoins are already created to replace fiat money in a lot of industries like payments, travelling, mobile and much more.
Development that is happening right now is quite a lot fast. all sectors can use blockchain technology. and in my opinion this is a big profit for investors. regarding later payments that will occur the transition to cryptocurrency itself still requires time and trust for its users. but this can be done in the next few years.

Only bitcoin will be the chance of mainstream by 2024.Bitcoin is the widely using cryptocurrency around the world. So in few years, bitcoin will be used as the FIAT in many country. The next chance will be to the Ethereum. But I don't think, XRP will sustain till the end of 2024.

If we talk about good possibilities, maybe it is right, cryptocurrency will be mainstream in 2024 because we can see some big companies already make their own cryptocoins, like start with Libra from facebook maybe can followed by other companies. But, either good or bad possibilities can be happen in this kind of business and we must prepare for anything that could happen in future.

The possibilities are endless and who knows it will be soon than the expected year into this thread. What I see is not really for bitcoin but somehow for the technology behind it. But 2024 might be also too early if it's really be mainstreamed, remember there are countries that aren't pro yet with it.

I think that this will inevitably happen before 2025. The popularization that began in 2017 continues to develop in big steps. Every person in the world already knows about cryptocurrencies.

Maybe a lot know crypto at that time, but I don't think all of them will use crypto in their daily lives. Those who are residing in rural or remote areas will still prefer to use their fiat money, I guess. There is a large percentage living on this Earth that are not yet tap by electricity, so I doubt they will be part of this blockchain revolution.

Who knows that will be more in demand by 2024? Let's not close the doors foe these coins, and yet if technology became more advanced during thas year nothing is impossible to happen. Blockchain is not a stagnant technology, that's there's always software updates due to ongoing developments. Fiat money will be just an option in the future, and digital currency will be more valuable.

Actually no one know, what will happen on 2024.But by considering the demand of cryptocurrency, we can predict only one thing. Bitcoin and Ethereum will be their in a market till the sustain of cryptocurrency in the world. Because the price of all other cryptocurrency is depend on bitcoin and ethereum.

I think 2024 is weirdly specific. It's difficult to predict even one year ahead, but certainly we are moving slowly towards mainstream adoption. For ETH though, I would say mainstream adoption of smart contracts is inevitable, but is still a long way off. Smart contracts are still largely confined to crypto, and things like ICO launches. However the potential of ETH extends far beyond that, into the automation of a decent chunk of the job market. It will happen, I'm sure, but I can't see it in 5 years.

Empowering crypto w/ sustainable energy
I own all of them, so I hope I didn´t invest into bad crypto-coins.
My idea is that Bitcoin will be the store of value, Ethereum will be the platform for applications and XRP token will be the currency for payments.

How plausible do you think this is? https://tipestry.com/topics/5cdf21bef8abf15fcdee649a/sneak-peek-2024-is-absolutely-the-year-bitcoin-becomes-mainstream
I would think we would become mainstream by 2021 or 2022. By mainstream, I don't mean 100% adoption or the extinction of the dollar. What I mean is, Bitcoin being used more and known by consumers.
No, I do not agree. Many people use Bitcoin only in crypto market. Today, there are still many people using fiat money and even people in big cities still don't know what cryptocurrency is.
To become the main currency, I think Bitcoin and the top alts need to have certain price stability.

I dont think xrp can be mainstream by 2024, i predict binance coin can replace xrp in your list, binance have dex, margin trading and IEO growing every months..
XRP will never lose its grip being a third coin in the coinmarketcap. And course BNB will step up into 4 or 5 spot. If the speculative mainstream happen in 2024, all i can say coins have no limits in that amount.

I suspect that Binance owners will do everything to make token better for most people than Ripple. BNB can really become an XRP rival. yes, now, BNB  has a lower position, but it got it in the shortest period of time. Binance Coin can do impossible and climb higher. As for the mainstream, Bitcoin will be popular for long, and in 2024 it will be also in the greatest demand.

It's going to be mainstream but I don't think it will be that early, we are still reading a lot of FUDS and arguments against Bitcoin and other top cryptocurrencies, so I don't think it's going to happen this coming 2024 although Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are always making headlines in mainstream media.
I think bitcoin has become mainstream right now. it's just that it might take time for ETH, and also XRP. although both coins are famous, the face of cryptocurrency is always known as bitcoin. when developments regarding bitcoin continue to be profitable and continue, it is likely that ETH and XRP will also become mainstream in the years to come.

Every day new investors are understanding and investing into cryptocurrency as it provide the best way to invest now. People are now preferring to hold bitcoin than stocks, bonds and gold! Before 2024, I strongly believe that bitcoin will to some extent utilize it potential and people will start to used it as money of the internet. Currently we can say “bitcoin, ethereum and ripple are now  in mainstream as people keep discussing them all over the internet and media house.

We have to keep in mind the cryptocurrency market grows as tecnology does. It will not stop using local currencies, but there are chances that cryptocurrencies are more used at spend time. As an example we can see the services offered by MintMe and how its number of users is increasing.
There are so much people that are gradually getting use to making payment digitally, which is why you see PayPal, alipay and the likes of them still thriving in the market. With time, people will prefer to make use of cryptocurrency as the main digital means of payment, most especially that of bitcoin digital payment. I actually do not see them stop using local currencies, but I see a balance between the two of them.

Let us take the present situation as example, there are sometimes we will want to go out and would hold some cash to be able to buy something in a store that is yet to accept payment electronically, while also we have some places we go too where will prefer to use out debit or credit card, this is same way there will be a balance between bitcoin payment system and local currency system.

Does anyone remember Ecu?Ecu was, Money of EU prior to Euro. Why was it a failure? It was a forced and theorotical money with almost no liberation for the EU members.
Well, there are many conceptual altcoins most of which are just therotically useful but no use at present and will just disappear and be forgotten in the near future. Some of the altcoins will pass the test of time and be used widely in future.ETH,XRP and/or a few.The total of crypto money will be less than 10.There may be digital coupons or discount digital cards etc but as a currency as a money the total number will be less than 10.

BTC will be the first survivor. Why because the founder cleverly dissappeared assuring he/she will not create a problem for the BTC.However, the other founders may have some genius, egocentric ideas for the currencies they developped.Because they believe the  currencies belong to them.

Founder who gives 2-3 percent per year to the app developpers and community will make his currency survive.

It won't stop using local currencies and I agree that time will come that it can be more used by the us. The mainstream is already becoming aware of this and just imagine that the gov't of US is starting to be aware of different crypto businesses such as exchanges, launching of Libra (which people says that it shouldn't be called a crypto) and ICOs. They are becoming aware of it and the attention that crypto gets from these large institutions is impressive.

I totally agree. And that's why I have more BTC, ETH and XRP in my portfolio at the moment. Of course, I have some small altcoins but the percentage is not too big. By the way, we don't need to wait for 2024 I think in 2022 these 3 coins will dominate the cryptocurrency market.
