I've never been on a plane in my life.

Neither I have been on it.
The reason is simple you didn't have any means to travel through it but maybe in future, you will travel on it  Lips sealed

I think this is yet to be implemented in my country.  I haven't heard any news or travel agency accepting Bitcoin as payment for plane tickets.  It would be great if this kind of service will be implemented in my country too.  I bet for the first time I will ride a plane just to test this Bitcoin payment lol.

Can you purchase your first flight tickets with bitcoin?
A around the world ticket would cost $10,000 per seat.
So I do not think they will. Undecided
Usually a security deposit is required to make a purchase of those ticket if you are even paying cash or credit card. Incase you decide to cancel. You lose your security deposit. But if paying with bitcoin they can't get this amount from you. Tongue

Expedia did at one point.
I think I remember hearing them having a problem so they stopped accepting them for their payments for tickets.
But they started using them again. Do not know if they still do though. Undecided

There are few companies which allow to pay for flight tickets with bitcoin. I have never tried to pay for flight tickets with bitcoin. As I know Cheapair is old and popular company. Abitsky accepts only bitcoins for the payment. Don't know much about Destinia, users reviews isn't very good.

I don't think there's much difference getting flight tickets using bitcoin and using paypal and other mode of payment. Only advantage you can have is that if you have bitcoins in your wallet then use it to buy, otherwise just used your paypal or your fiat to purchase if you don't have bitcoins on your end.

Getting flight tickets using bitcoin is a great idea and i hope that here in our country we will have that kind of feature so it will be easy for different travelers and also those bitcoin geeks who want to travel and buy tickets without hassle. I'm looking forward for this kind of thing. I think just after a few years this will happen because bitcoin is getting more popular because of its price.

I remember there being a site which accepted bitcoin for air tickets. Does anyone remember their name ?
And why don't you try expedia .heard they accept bitcoin.
Great news for bitcoiners as this will help in resolving either bitcoin can be used and patronise by the elites and the big business own like air operators in our society. In future bitcoin will make things more easier than were we are today because people are looking for more ways of making transactions easy for them like never before and bitcoin stand for this.

This is one of the few services that we have for Bitcoin in my country. But unfortunately the prices are too high for me to afford them. The cheapest ticket is around €300-€400 no matter if it's Bitcoin or fiat. It's still appreciated by me though, because there should be people buying them with Bitcoin too, or others becoming interested in trying Bitcoin.

Though I dont have the luxury of buying airplane tickets but I am happy with this kind of news. It just shows that bitcoin is stronger than before and it is another sign that will lead to another price inflation in the market. Sooner or later other airplane companies will also accept bitcoin in almost every country.  I just hope that I will earn enough bitcoin so I can have a vacation abroad with family.

I've never been on a plane in my life.

Me too. I'm trying to build up good amounts of bitcoins so I might go to fly one someday.

Yeah I think It will be cool to be able to buy tickets with bitcoins directly even if I can just convert my bitcoins to $ to pay for the tickets hmmm well it will make the transaction more simple at least.

Some of my friends have done that and it's really cool to do as it will be a fast transaction and the conversion rates were pretty high at that time.  Grin

i had bookmarked this post, i came back to see if it's still possible to buy travel tickets through bitnet.

http://bitforum.info still does exist but bitnet was bought up by uphold : "Welcome to Uphold. The Internet of Money. Uphold enables anyone, anywhere to move, hold, convert and transact in any form of money or commodity instantly and securely. Launched in November 2014,..."

it is technically possible to build a website that allows to buy anonymously with bitcoins from any e-commerce website that exists, does it exist ?

I think that you can buy flight tickets through cheapair as I have personally used them, and my experience had been good with them.
I don't understand that how you can buy flight tickets "anonymously" through any websites, as you are needed to show your passport when boarding.
Correct me if I said something wrong.

yes correct, only the payment would be anonymous meaning it won't appear on your bank statements.

i just checked options payments for cheapair : credit card, bitcoin, western union and monthly payments

Nice feature but still not available in my country. Airlines companies are ones that usualy adopt and accept new technologies fast so accepting Bitcoin payment is logical step that will probably attract new customers and become a good marketing for the company.

That I guess would make it way easier to book flights. I supose they're just going to fix the price to fiat currency since btc price usually have large price increases.

But then again I've never been on a plane. Cheesy I've only left the city for a really far location once and then I was on a ship.
