I would like to add Zadar from Croatia on this list.
As you can see here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/croatian-post-office-now-offer-crypto-exchange-5168879  state owned Croatian post started very important pilot project in local post offices in Zadar (very famous tourist area by the way).
Now, we can go to the local post office in Zadar and exchange our crypto to fiat, what is really very convenient for users, specially tourists from other countries.
I can generally say that the government is friendly to the crypto market and we already have several crypto companies in the country.
The tax office has already given instructions on how to pay crypto earnings tax and if the crypto funds are kept for at least 2 years in the wallet, no tax will be paid as this is then a long-term investment.

How is Japan's none of the city published here ?
Because we know how Japan has been so friendly when it comes to cryptocurrencies, we are more likely to run into stores accepting cryptocurrencies and at the same time I think it is the first country that have been so okay with the idea of cryptocurrencies.
I think even Japan should have been in the list.

Japan might have an influence in the cryptocurrency knowing that the creator of bitcoin sounds like a japanse, but not necessarily means they are putting much of their time in cryptocurrency and even utilizing bitcoin to their local lifestyle.  There are exchanges from japan listed on here: where they can buy Bitcoin. But in comparison to other country, the difference is the implementation of Bitcoin as well as the push that they can get from their authorities.

I would like to add Mexico to the list because two months ago the Fintech law comes to bring some order in the cryptos and now you can have bitcoins in the correct way.

It's a legal coin but there are not much products to buy with the coin in the country, So is good for trading, gambling, and web business...

This is not a complete list. Definitely here, less than half of all existing Bitcoin friendly cities

Such usefull information. I'm so glad in seeing these kind of active places where bitcoin has become an important currency.

That will also bring new investors to the market, new users and more adoptation making it a more interesting subject to measure on real world currencies discussion.
The more people it gets involved the more government will think in using it as a legalized currency product for fiat involvements.

We are seeing a more positive side from those cities as bitcoin price has become so more stable above the 6k dollars.

I don't know if you're following Jack, CEo of Twitter? Lately he's been to Nigeria, and one of his reasons he went there was about bitcoin. And from what I've got to know, that country is friendly to bitcoin, people that are living there are freely making use of Bitcoin without having any problem with the government, and cryptocurrency keeps growing there.

I believe that would be the same for some other countries in Africa, there will be lots of them that are friendly with bitcoin and we just don't know it yet. And not only Africa, there are lots of countries that are accepting cryptocurrency and users have no problem with it. So, these countries you have mentioned here are not the only ones that are allowing their citizens to make use of cryptocurrency.
You better not trust Nigerian government that much if you consider the type off tyrant president that they have now and the reason why you might think they are friendly with the bitcoin is because they have still not had time to pay attention to it which they are busy dealing with their oil and corruption, if bitcoin become so popular in Nigeria with the little that I know about them , I hope that their president will be able to underhand it and not see it as threat as he is seeing everything as threat to him even to his vice president.

Nigerians are the ones that I can really say they are very friendly to cryptocurrency and they respond to the use of it because I have so many friends there but I would never trust their government.

Africa is friendly to cryptocurrencies in general. I know about the positive experiences of Dash, TRX and Bitcoin in Africa. Nigeria is especially good at that. I am sure Africa will dominate the adoption of crypto around the world and i think its pretty good!

I have been searching for topics that will somehow help empower the bitcoin community. I have been previously posting bitcoin friendly politicians and the list of their names in this forum. Today I will share to you bitcoin friendly cities. This maybe a boring topic but its better to read topics that can inspire the bitcoin community rather than negative and threatening topics.

The list is courtesy to https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/042415/10-cities-leading-bitcoin-adoption.asp

1 San Francisco, U.S.
2 Vancouver, Canada
3 Amsterdam, the Netherlands
4 Ljubljana, Slovenia
5 Tel Aviv, Israel
6 Zurich, Switzerland
7 Tampa, U.S.
8 Buenos Aires, Argentina
9 New York, U.S.
10 London, U.K.

After reading the article published by investopedia.com the common thing that makes these cities bitcoin friendly is the presence of merchants accepting bitcoins and the existence of bitcoin atms.
It seems like bitcoin has been garnering respect all over the world from time to time. We should expect that sooner or later, bitcoin will be dominating the world making revolution to promote the convenience and advantages of using it. We are currently in the time of transition where the use of fiat is getting close on being outdated. Expect it that sooner or later, crypto will be used in many transactions and will be included to the everday life of many people all over the world.

I am surprised to see 3 cities from US. I thought Bitcoin is not popular in US but list shows many merchants across popular US cities accepting Bitcoin. In Asian countries I think Japan, South Korea and Sigapore are major contributors which are not there in the list.Vancouver is a big business hub of Canada, its great to see that merchants in Vancouver are pro Bitcoin. I am sure list will grow with next bull run.
I am not surprise at all, because as fas as I can see there are a lot traders and investors in US, aside from US we can see that ASIA is the next to it, specially Japan, they have one of the advance technology among other country as well, there could be be no doubt that sooner or later they will completely adapt blockchain technology in every companies in their country.
Well, yes. I am expected that the US is one of the most have a lot of investors who had to adopt blockchain technology. Since they are fully developed country there are too many rich people who can afford to spend money when it comes to investment. Aside from that, South East Asia also is a Bitcoin or other crypto-friendly city. But I dont think China before they are against to Bitcoin but now they are adopting blockchain technology.

A few unique measurements were utilized in gathering this rundown, including the quantity of bitcoin shippers in the city, the quantity of bitcoin ATMs, and the populace size comparative with bitcoin movement. Bitcoin maps like the community oriented one offered on coinmap.org enable you to see current bitcoin-tolerating organizations by city or nation. So also, Coin ATM Radar shows the areas of bitcoin ATMs over the world.

Here are the 10 driving urban communities, positioned arranged by the most grounded bitcoin nearness as of mid-2019:

1. San Francisco, U.S.

2. Vancouver, Canada

3. Amsterdam, the Netherlands

4. Ljubljana, Slovenia

5. Tel Aviv, Israel

I heard they were wanting to build an island that ran on #BOTCOIN I doubt it is true but just curious if you have that on the list or not lol. It would take alot of BTC to build bitcoin island. Also I did not know that New York was Bitcoin friendly either!

I was actually expecting Japan as before those guys had good feedback about bitcoin but then I guess other countries like Israel had taken it away. I must say that the adoption in these 10 countries was insane, I mean look at the numbers, it tells everything.

Bitcoin has been around for more than a decade now, but it still has not reached global acceptance as a method of payment that many early adopters had hoped.

Well I guess, we need another decade or perhaps even more for us to reach this.

Japan is really a highly accepting country when it comes to bitcoin, in fact Japan didn't backed down and abandoned bitcoin despite of the move of the other two asian countries against it, specifically China and Korea. During those times when China implemented the banning and usage of cryptocurrency on their country and Korea prohibiting anonymous transactions, Japan remained unbothered and unshaken.
What I think became the reason why Japan isn't included to the list of the most bitcoin friendly country imspite of their good reviews and adoption to it, is because they only have few bitcoin ATMs on their country.

And admit it even us, bitcoin enthusiast, don't use those Bitcoin ATMs.
There's a bitcoin ATM right near me and I would have used it if it were functional, but it wasn't.  I probably would have tried it out but wouldn't have used it more than once since the asking price for bitcoin was waaay above the market price and to me it was kind of a rip-off.

There might be bitcoin-friendly cities, but there ought to be a larger measure of crypto-friendly cities.  I'm watching a youtube video right now that shows how Dash is being adopted in Venezuela, and there's even a Dash-themed coffee shop there.  I don't really know how much adoption Venezuela has seen, but it does look like Dash and probably other cryptos are actually being used to purchase things.  I'd call that pretty crypto-friendly, though I don't know about the friendliest city in that country, probably Caracas.

Anyway, it's a good list but probably doesn't accurately reflect popularity around the world.

i agree the cities will only be a bitcoin friendly if the local merchant start to accept bitcoin
I do hope that in the Philippines, even though it's not yet confirmed it was a bitcoin friendly country, ATM services should be opened to different City around the country. On that idea, it has a good effect on the demand so people can be properly oriented with digital currency if it would be openly accessible anywhere.
our country is a bitcoin-friendly country we have bitcoin wallet where you can pay utilities transfer bitcoin trough bank and send without fee within the wallet but until now there is almost none or only few local merchant accept bitcoin as payment
i just wish someday local merchant will start to accept bitcoin for payment and our country will be listed as one of the bitcoin-friendly country

For me all the countries on the list have proven they are developed countries and recognize bitcoin or legalize by accepting bitcoin as a transaction tool, this is something that can pump crypto to develop even more advanced in many other developed countries, maybe a few more years a bitcoin ATM will spread in all countries and become the main transaction tool

I do hope that in the Philippines, even though it's not yet confirmed it was a bitcoin friendly country, ATM services should be opened to different City around the country. On that idea, it has a good effect on the demand so people can be properly oriented with digital currency if it would be openly accessible anywhere.
