The main reason for bitcoin to get popular in the field of gambling and porn is due to its anonymity. Peoples don't like to disclose their identity when they like to get some adult entertainment or when they like to play in casinos. But the same anonymous feature had made bitcoin a favorite option for hackers and criminals too.

Unless you are taking every precaution to not be traced you'll be easily be caught, people tends to mistake and think that bitcoin is anonymous which is not the case, for an average bitcoin user, everything is related to their wallet(s) address, every transaction they do can be traced so what's left, is to link the address to it physical owner.
To be clear I'm not saying that every gambler is at risk to be caught, of course stats don't have the resources to track small gamblers, I think the resources would be spent on getting the big guys and the gambling services.
