BTC has no competition because most of the other cryptos don't possess the neccessary qualities to bring something better than what BTC has. They are just kind of in their own thing but they cannot make a difference on a global level and that is why they can't go to another level. So BTC will most likely be the number one crypto for quite a long time to come, for me the most interesting question is which will be the crypto that will have the chance to surpass BTC and how long will it take

There are hundreds of cryptocurrencies out there, and it would be naïve to think that none of them has any good improvements.

I think the problem is that most of them have many points of centralization, and certain improvements could be implemented in Bitcoin if there was a consensus.
It has nothing to do with that, honestly there are many better cryptocurrencies out there that has the potential to replace Bitcoin, the only problem is that Bitcoin is the Father of all Cryptocurrencies in which it was the first one out of the market and will certainly have the largest market share of all. The problem is that this Altcoins had a bad timing entering the market becauae Bitcoin is currently dominating and still growing with a lot of potential. Also we cannot have 2 or more Cryptocurrencies dominating the market because as consumers would need to adjust on more of them instead of one (what I mean about that is that is stores or any business will need to take time to adjust not only to Bitcoin but also other altcoins as well for the consumer's benefit) which will lead to a lot of confusion on both consumer and seller.

Not just other cryptocurrencies, but for instance, I would say that Bitcoin has become its own competitor since many other types of purposes are popping up in the markets to take their share through getting those proposals approved. Bitcoin needs to get all these internal problems resolved, else a third party will win the battle between the two.

At what time do you think it's best for altcoins to enter the market? I think right when bitcoins was launched there's already a possibility that an altcoin will pop up but the idea will be almost as if it was copy+pasted, thus, useless.

If it was bad for altcoins to enter the market because bitcoin is already dominating the market, then there would never be a good time for altcoins to enter since bitcoins will always be dominating unless a God-like coin comes in (which is again, an altcoin).

I don't think having two or more coins makes people confused at all because if so, we should already be confused with all the fiat currencies that we have in the world. They simply have to add Ether or Dash or whatever major coin they want to accept and have the conversion algorithm ready as well just like how they did with bitcoins.

Bitcoin has no competition in what race?

speed?
scalability?
remittance?
acceptance?
utility?
brand recognition?
most nodes?
carbon footprint?
anonymity?

There are many races, and rarely one contender is best at all.

OP needs to define question please

Blockchains solve many problems, and you are correct, bitcoin is solving some better than most.
Since the question is ask in the general sense I think the OP means that all the factors need to be added together and took into consideration in that way but you are right if we begin to see each factor separately there are things that other coins do way better.

Banano, Bitcoin has dominated not quite a race, but more like Bitcoin dominated the World Olympics so heavily handed that it opened up a new Coliseum to welcome and invite all competition to come and TRY.

There is no altcoin that has worked even nearly as well GLOBALLY as the store of value that Bitcoin is.

Bitcoin is nearly an unbreakable store of value solidified by the beautiful COMBINATION of being decentralized with limited small blocksize, immutable, cryptographically secured, scarce as it is limited in supply (21mil ceiling) and established over many many years. Its not one of these features, its not a combination of two or three of these features, but ALL of these features that make it the most secure store of value that can be transmitted globally through a communications channel. Any altcoin can beat at one of these features, i agree with you there

I certainly agree that Bitcoin is above all competition presently

Obviously, in the field of competition where it actually matters, i.e. in popularity (or adoption across the world, if you please). Though I cannot possibly agree that Bitcoin is anywhere near being an "unbreakable store of value". It is absolutely not a store of value in the first place, not even close to that, let alone "unbreakable". Gold is an unbreakable store of value by any metric, while Bitcoin is likely one the best vehicles for speculation and profiteering. As you can easily guess, being a speculative asset (and a highly speculative one at that) doesn't go well with being a store of value, mildly speaking

At a moment I don't see any competition to bitcoins as it is ruling the digital world and altcoins cannot be compared to bitcoins as they cannot be used for shopping or converted to fiat and in that case bitcoin holds upper hand over the altcoins.
Certainly, bitcoin is the only coin in a crypto currency which can be concerted into fiat vice versa. However, it's not impossible that a crpto currency coin can have ots exchanger since the market of crypto currency is spreading annd developing.

Bitcoin is king at a moment but in future we may see some new currency that holds better benefits and features then bitcoins and if that happens then people will diversify their investments towards without bothering about bitcoins.

According to the communities different views that the main competitors of bitcoin was the altcoins, the currency who make a copy cat of bitcoin. But we all know that bitcoin was an open source to any business aspects actually,  Wink
yes that can be right but still there is no alt coin which can compete bitcoin evern there is not a single alt coin which we can consider the main competer of bitoin, all of the are stil too much fa away from bitcoin.

Bitcoin is only digital currency right now and I don't see any competition to it at a moment but things may change in future when it may get replaced some new and innovative currency and till it happens enjoy the ride with bitcoins as it will never disappear.
It has competition from many government and security agencies i just hope bitcoin get's equally distributed around the world so that the bitcoin controller china can stop manipulating the price of bitcoin.
It is natural to think that those countries where there is a greater amount of wealth will tend to get more bitcoin than poorer countries so it is natural that china hold a good amount of the coins but the amount they hold is going to change as more people in other countries adopt bitcoin.

Bitcoin has a lot of competition and without competition it wouldn't stay on top of course. Bitcoin would still be the mother of all coins, though there are a lot of assumptions that a certain Altcoin will replace Bitcoin but those are just speculations. Not one Altcoin yet has come close to what the value of the Bitcoin has today, but we won't know for certain. A lot will happen a few years from now but I do hope Bitcoin would still remain on top.

two years ago, the conclusion may be right, but now, the community is totally broken, bitcoin is not the best anymore

And which is the best coin out there?

At the present time, this is completely wrong, because, bitcoin is weakening in the branching process. There are a lot of strong altcoins, which are popular, ETH is a typical example, bitcoin is competitive and is out of date compared to what was before. I feel this is quite bad, and the main reason is the greed of the miners, they are destroying the bitcoin, but they think that is the way to make them rich, stupid.

I don't think you could say that Bitcoin is weakening with its price being over 1,000 dollars per coin right now

Barring November (or December, I don't remember which month exactly) of 2013, Bitcoin has been at prices higher than 1,000 dollars only for a few months, and all of them (except for just one month, or rather a week or two in 2013) are months of this year. I don't think it is very honest to demand from Bitcoin to be constantly growing so that we could consider it as the best kid on the block. If you disagree (or someone else comes to disagree, for that matter), show me another coin that has been rising for over a year and a half

Yes there are some altcoins are giving good competition to Bitcoins. And those coins are growing very fast in the market. At present situation, the Bitcoin have more value, and people think there is no competition, but in future, it may go wrong.
