according to exponential growth I have no doubt its heading to 1000 within a year,

at that point which alts do you think would survive aka not worth like 1/10 value of the current price.

you have no doubt? damn ur confident...then sell ur house lol

but anyhow to the question, any alts we keep alive will survive. obviously many of the lastest round of make to mine will die.

told you, but this is happening quicker than I thought it would be around July or so

Anyway, we are heading to at least 1700 by 2015

yes
There will be room for altcoins in the future. BTC has the focus now, but I remember the sudden interes in altcoins in March 2013. It will happen again. Just hold for the longest time.

The world has visa, then mastercard, amex, discover and what not as alt-visa. They have like 0 innovative over visa, just different kinds of benefit to users, still able to force merchants to take them.

Wait till bitcoin technology merges with surveillance technology - the goal being to watch the watchers while protecting your reputation and defending your innocence. Morality written into code, no victim no crime. GPS warning you of local customs, dark allies, buyer beware. Bitcoin/GPS inviting you to sanctuary, rest, safety - but not broadcasting your name and address to strangers either. You travel unimpeded because you're tracked everywhere you go. Twitter, Like's, Favorites, +'s all piggybacked by crypto code shielding you from the eyes of strangers but tagging your & theirs location, time & date in case there's ever a reason to go looking for bread crumbs.

The ability to 'unplug' but be prepared to be questioned and impeded during travel. Get in an elevator, look at your phone and see that 9 out of 10 occupants are geo-tagged, everyone is going to be looking around like someone farted. I'm not saying I'm for this or against this. I'm just saying I see it.

LTC (because of marketing), SXC (because the next client will have direct connection to cam sex sites) and FRK (because the developer is also a Ripple developer)

Sexcoin will live on, because, well, sex sells. <_<

I can't argue with that.

yeah but i can pay for porn, prositutes, sex clubs etc. with dollars.  Huh

Except you can be tracked with dollars. Tongue Nothing worse than buying a sex toy and then the FBI busts you thinking it's an IED.

not with cash  Wink

In addition, I happen to know 100% that various banking/financial institutions are looking to become involved in the altcoin sector for this very reason.

Well to be honest the banking institutions are interested in cryptos, but not to support our alts (them they want to destroy) but to start their own.

Twitter @realmicroguy

I think that alt-coin isn't needed, bitcoin is good as it is, sure it could be faster with comfirmations, but besides that I see no downside

I think what we're going to see is the emergence of competing digital currencies, probably a handful or so. As the Bitcoin POS infrastructure is rolled out it will be easily adaptable to accommodate altcoin currencies. In addition, I happen to know 100% that various banking/financial institutions are looking to become involved in the altcoin sector for this very reason.

If you read back over Satoshi's posts in this forum, you will see that he too would be supportive of these alternative coins based on his monetary philosophy.

I'd like to say litecoin but current situation can't allow me to say that. Well, let's hope.
i think this rally will lose steam eventually, even soon, and then LTC will recover, IMO.
