It won't exist because all of the speculation and profit taking will have driven it into the ground.

I don't think we will see 10,000 this year. I know that has been the patern but the Market Cap of Bitcoin will be a drag on its valuation. Its easy to go up 10x when the market cap is small. However for Bitcoin to keep up this pace A 10x Move will push us close to the $100B in market cap....that's real money and its going to take a lot of mass adoption to move us to that valuation. We may get there in a few years but don't expect bitcoin to put up the gains it has in the past.
Bitcoin value will be 1 000 000 $ for 1000 Bitcoins, I guess. 
By that time either Bitcoin will be the world currency, or else it will no longer exist.
I believe in Bitcoin. That said, I don't believe Bitcoin will be around in 2040. It will be replaced by something else in the same vain, that is more efficient, accessible and secure.
I am officially giving my opinion that Bitcoin as we know it will not exist, or if it does, it won't be the major cryptocurrency in use.
Cryptocurrencies are here to stay, but I doubt Bitcoin will be a major player in the long run.
