And how do your critics feel now?

Do they still continue with their doubts over Bitcoin or they have already changed feathers and are now one of us?

If they are truly a critics then I would understand that they can change their stance seeing that the price or adoption is growing. But if they are a complete hater, regardless of bitcoin going from $3,000-$100,000, they wouldn't understand a thing because they are going to be closed minded.

Or perhaps they are neither a critic nor a hater. I have encountered a lot of people who are discouraging me to use Bitcoin and get involved in it. But they do not know what they are talking about. Their basis is some poor information they got probably from social media and some friends who are as ignorant as them. They simply need someone to give them proper education on it.
right, most of those who enter the head are negative news about bitcoin, so they are afraid to learn it. they are afraid without understanding, and I think this is like a fool, because they don't open their minds widely

An ignorant man is no fool really. He simply needs to be informed or to be enlightened. The problem is that they knew or have heard or read Bitcoin first from sources that are not reliable, and they failed on digging up some more that is why they stayed ignorant. Well, if they closed their minds on the process, they are fools. But if they are still open for more elucidating information, they are still potential Bitcoin supporters.

The biggest investors which I considered whales isn't vocal about this, and it remained so confidential along the developments of cryptocurrency around the world. Their ability to be discreet about the raging challenges in bitcoin, made them more observant on the recent market changes.
We can't have an accurate predictions each time the value of bitcoin changes, so it's better to stay calm and just wait for future price outbreak which is very surprising.

That's quite inspiring. The criticisms you have received made you a strong person now. See, you have been motivated and determined by your own goals and that is to proved that you are right about Bitcoin. I can't blame you for thinking that Bitcoin is an easy quick money, well at least you have realized that it is not. Since it is volatile and there is no particular sure time when will it boom.

The moment we entered here, we should be ready with all the risks. Now you have learned your lesson and guess its's not only you but we (bitcoin holders) had learned too from our previous believes and mistakes. Let's just continue to grow inside. Bitcoin is a good investment, just know "when" to buy and sell.

Don't worry about what others say about it and your dedication to it. It is quite a job to believe in bitcoin, I have had bitcoin in my consciousness for years now and it is taxing...no pun intended.  Many people doubt the early stages of any technology and bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are no exception.  Long live bitcoin!

Good story here from you, and I make a conclusion if there is someone who tried to know more how bitcoin before then he will back again although he has lost his money in the past. Many people there who got lost their money but they never come back again and make a judgment that cryptocurrency especially bitcoin is scam but that is not true. They just need instant profit and spent a lot of money but they just fall to lost it is horrible thing.

Actually, I'm not someone who has spent a lot of money to bitcoin and never got big profit from it. I just spend my saving money and store them on bitcoin with my hoping the money will increase, although I never targeted how long it be. With those thing I can be able to having more patient, letting my money decrease when bitcoin fall and I wasn't tempted to sell them when bitcoin got increased. Because I believe bitcoin will be useful in the future and I can proud to many people there who haven't had any bitcoin especially some people around me who underestimate again bitcoin in the past.

I want to give my opinion in every part that you said because we are experiencing almost the same but.. yeah.

I was criticized before about believing in bitcoin and its potential to become profitable as I do some work and browsing in some place where I usually work. By participating in this forum and trading using various exchanges, some of my colleagues, family, and friends ask me why I believe in a volatile currency that they consider a bubble, an investment that aims to fool people.
Fuck those who are doesn't have the right to criticize what you are doing. I know we are living in the same country and I know how our countrymen thinks. "THEY HAVE AN EMPLOYEE MINDSET AND NOT AN INVESTOR MINDSET" and that is the reason why some or most of the people you know are criticizing you. Fuck them and don't even listen to them. If you know that you are doing the right thing then just continue it.

I sticked in campaigns (particularly weekly campaigns) and save as many bitcoin as possible. I wait patiently and I think $9k market price is quite profitable already.
When I saw that altcoin bounty campaigns isn't profitable for me anymore then that is the time that I decided to try my luck in Bitcoin paid campaigns and then when yolodice accepted me, I decided to just focus on this campaign and not on altcoins anymore. For one and a half year, I focused on my current signature campaign since I saw that I can earn more Bitcoin here. Thanks to yolodice, I have earned some money to be used to invest into other investments like stocks and bonds.

So I help to pay bills in our home, buy necessary things I need, and support myself without the help of my parents. That is what other's saw in which I find an achievement. All criticism turns into opportunities that I am happy about as I've helped to induce market adoption in bitcoin.
When I started joining altcoin bounties, I have earned enough to buy my own smartphone.
When I started joining Bitcoin paid signature campaign, I have earned enough to buy my own computer and traveled with my couple last year.
I also started to give some money for my sister who is now studying.

Take all of their criticism to an inspiration and just focus on what you are doing as long as you are happy with it. I don't share what I'm doing since nobody will understand it so it will be useless even I share it.

Bitcoin is in silence and in a constant movement because it is lying on its break. The demand is not that high because many people aren't believing on the potential of bitcoin to become the universal digital currency. If that happens, maybe the demand becomes high, most especially when people are determined to buy and sell bitcoin quickly. Despite of many criticism, they can't put bitcoin down on the list. We all know that it is the most populat and most efficient digital currency around the world, although it is very volatile.

so for us who thinks quitting upon criticism, doing bitcoin related stuffs in silence is what we need, rather than pushing people to believe as they will just resist and counter you back with bitcoin being scam and fraud.
Indeed sometimes its better to keep mum on how you make money in crypto rather than share it to people who dont believe or thinking that btc is scam.

When I had the opportunity to earn huge amount by investing in btc year 2017 I tried to introduce it to my close friends because I want to share them how im earning. Unfortunately their first impression is not good and they discourage me to not believe everything online because its likely a scam and I will lose my money.

But I didnt listen instead I decided to keep it to myself and keep going, now im still here and enjoying the things I had because of my hard work.

Taking all these criticisms enables me to remain patient and continue investing and doing work such as bounties and campaigns. I realized, bitcoin do really is full of scam and frauds way back before when I haven't seen the beauty of it yet. I have joined many campaigns, lose more than 50 dollars in trading and investment but I didn't stop.

So for us who thinks quitting upon criticism, doing bitcoin related stuffs in silence is what we need, rather than pushing people to believe as they will just resist and counter you back with bitcoin being scam and fraud.

I am sure that your story can also be the story of many of us here in this forum. There is really that beauty and benefit of waiting for the right time. While BTC should be considered as a currency, we can not deny that many of us here are looking at it as an investment, much like the real gold. People who are not good at trading has this opportunity to hold on for Bitcoin and just wait for the right time for it to ripen and harvest some possible profits.

We also have to understand that many people have the wrong information fed on them about Bitcoin, and so they are afraid that they can be losing money...well as an investor one has to do some diligence and the same thing is rue with Bitcoin. The scams actually has nothing to do with Bitcoin just like we don't call a pyramiding scheme using the USD as its medium exchange to be a Dollar Scam. In every industry, there will always be scammers or people who are making it their business to fool others, and with the cryptocurrency industry this has become a big playground for many of them that is why we should be careful.

I have been through the same struggle especially during the bear market. Those people that asked me to explain what bitcoin is during bull run started to act oppositely.

I cannot blame them for turning the table and going to bandwagon because of the situation of bitcoin during those times. I have decided to remain silent and every success that I achieve with the use bitcoin, I dont brag or boast it on social media. Well, I guess those people that looked down on me and probably to most of us here will start to look differently now towards bitcoin.

I'd love to taste the fruitful success of bitcoin silently but if they are to ask me about bitcoin again, I guess it wouldn't be the same treatment that I gave them before.

My condition is almost the same as you. I have been criticizing from the beginning of the crypto journey to now. My friends and neighbors mocking on me that I did not sell at the high price, I am holding bitcoin for nothing as they believe bitcoin price will be dumped and so on negativity. I decided to tell them that I quit bitcoin things, now my focus on study only, let's do party. Now they know I am unemployed, I have no money and honestly, I am enjoying their feelings! After hanging out with them when I come to the home, I start doing Bitcoin staff until I sleep! I have a plan to gather bitcoin as much as I can, later I will show them! I tried to teach them but they ignored, so, I am happy with myself! So, let's work silently in Bitcoin and make them jealous of sorry!
Haters and criticizers are the part of every job. Whatever you do or whatever you have, not all people will talk in favor of it. Not only you, has even successful investors face criticize and hatred. I would suggest you to take all criticism as more motivation and work even more hard. In the end the results will surprise the haters, they will understand the value of Bitcoin and its benefit in trading.

i once one of those people who talks about bitcoin all the time with friends. until the long bear market ruined how they look at me since the number of scams being reported on televisions. i became silent after that since my old friends will remind me on facebook whether how i was doing. i have to defend BTC is legit and the scams are done by scammers using BTC. i never strike a conversation again about BTC and stopped sharing crypto information since, my photos where i wear some crypto designed shirts are still in my account though.

Bitcoin is a currency not an investment. At least not in the traditional terms. Buying bitcoin means investing in the technology not in stocks. Bitcoin is not a stock ev n though it's traded like one in exchanges. Learn the difference. You will never profit if you can't learn the difference. If you invest in bitcoin to make money then I'm sorry but you deserve to lose it. Believe in the technology and invest in it. This obsession with use value will make you lose money. Besides you said you bought at 5k? What's the price now? Exactly...

You need to hang out with a higher class of people. Being brought down for your ideas is not love. Don't waste your time with people who don't love you and will put you down. They only serve as a distraction of your true goal. Never listen to others. Listen to yourself. You know what is and what is good for you. Now go there it and do it!! Believe in yourself!!

That was a fascinating story OP. I think everyone has the same initial reaction when hearing something about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Almost everyone of us might have experienced the same thing over and over as well. If others oppose what you are doing, sometimes working in silence is much better and at the end of the day, you can proudly show them that they are wrong about what they're thinking about bitcoin. You just gotta show them that they are wrong for not believing and that you made the right decision for sticking and believing in bitcoin.

Things take time and effort to learn, the same as trading. Losing is part of winning. And risking is also a part of earning. Just like what I've said, I've also experienced being doubted by your family on what I am doing but after they have seen the fruits of my hard work, they have learned to understand and support me.

If you don't have time for short trading, then you might hold your bitcoin for long term, to be honest trading is quite dificult if you don't have any knowledge. I agree with you that we don't need to tell and pushing people into bitcoin, just do what you do. Anyway I disagree that trading is only for those who have so much money, you can do trading with small capital and if you are good in predicting the market then you'll get the profit.

You can also short for long term, despite how silly it sounds. Shorting isn't like day trading where you have to be online all the time. When the asset is in a long downtrend, much like Bitcoin was in 2018, you can enter a long-term short position and wait for a reversal.
Those who don't have time should do some swing trading. It's much easier. You only look for big moves and set your buys at possible levels of support without going all in.

trading is for those who have much time
that is not true, trading can be adjusted to your time, if you are a busy person and don't have much time you can choose long term trading, You can trade once a week or even once a month, even the day traders can still trade even if they don't have much time, I am sure, there are no traders who trade every second unless they use trading bots.
I agree it will depend on you on how can you manage trading.  But if you really want to get huge profit through trading then I can say you must really give time on it to monitor its value.

Criticism had been my watch word, doing anything in life without criticism means your aren't doing something good and profitable. Just speaking from experience, several times last few years, I was confronted from my own house about Bitcoin: guess what? They have all turned to be cryptocurrency enthusiasts and have seen the future I couldn't see in Bitcoin.

The silence of Bitcoin to me; is the best silence to be giving to an ardent doubtful mindedness being. Presently, manya who stood against Bitcoin yesterday have turn to be preachers of the good gospel of Bitcoin, because its in silence mode. The silence mean a lot to those who believed in Bitcoin. Am happy to be the very first in the family to know about Bitcoin.

I rarely tell anyone about my Bitcoin investments for a couple of reasons.

First of all, most people don’t understand Bitcoin and think it’s a Ponzi scheme so I don’t want to deal with explaining my reasoning for believing in it.

Secondly, if I convince people that it’s the real deal and they invest and the price drops, they will hate me for it.

Thirdly, I want to be careful about bragging about owning Bitcoin because the IRS may want to crack down on us. Don’t get me wrong, I am fine paying taxes on my profits.  I just don’t want an IRS audit.

I stopped paying attention to what people are saying about Bitcoin. I honestly don't care. I can see that some of my close friends who were skeptical at first are slowly changing their attitude. Nobody close to me is into Bitcoin so I used to get questions like 'how are you shares doing?' or 'how many Bitcoin shares do you have now'?
Those same people have been doing a bit of research and instead of calling Bitcoin a 'company' or 'shares' I am now getting questions like: How easy is it to mine bitcoin? and 'Why are people mining'?

I think it will take long time before Bitcoin can be considered a real opponent to traditional payment methods. We have scalability issues that need to be addressed, we have high transaction fees that happen during bull runs, long confirmation times, etc etc.

But in the words of The Great Kobe Bryant: We have to keep moving, one step at a time.
Rest In Peace!
