Whether we go for yes or no that it should be held in classroom, one thing I know is that one cannot place something on nothing and that is the fact government will go a long way in making this possible if it will be taught in high school but in the university based on the independence that is being enjoyed in that part, then research will be going on in that area by students and lecturers alike but not to be taught in class because to best of my knowledge it wouldnt have been incorporated in the syllabus.

This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?

to teach bitcoins or to use bitcoins in teaching
one has to introduce several notions such as:blockchain, mint, decentralised money etc. etc.
think it can be used for things like IT or programming or cryptography but not math(or any basic stuff for kids)
simply because you cannot teach simple things using more complicated as a basis
I agree. Math is math if you wanna teach math it's all about math problems only teaching math is different from bitcoin. You can teach bitcoin using seminar. But using it in school lesson a very big no. We cannot do that because the learning focus of that is academics lesson not bitcoin lesson.

We dont need to teach Bitcoin in school as a subject. It can just be given as an overview once or twice to the students so they know there is another digital currency other than their own local currency. Bitcoin is not a big discussion so there is no reason to start it as a separate subject.
Not only is not needed but it will never be taught at schools, they do not even teach about how to manage your normal currency so they are not going to teach about bitcoin.

I think this depends on the interest of the Education Institution.  There is some curriculum (not about Bitcoin) in Japan that is not thought all over the world which I think is more beneficial than the  general knowledge that is thought in those years.  Aside from that if the Bitcoin Enthusiast propose a course outline of Bitcoin, and million of people supported it, it will be listed as  one of the course outline of some subject in higher years especially economics in Computer Courses  or those who are mastering cryptography as base sample or model program.

That is a much better proposals rather just using bitcoin as a prop in teaching at school a bitcoin curriculum is much better. If cryptocurrency is included in the curriculum the country that will implement it will greatly benefit when the time comes. Just like China who learned of bitcoin very much earlier and after knowing have invested in bitcoin purchasing huge volumes and as of this time they are bigtime millionaires. This simply means that if children are taught at an early age about bitcoin and cryptocurrency soon they will be rich kids. Remember always that knowledge is power.

I still don't get used to operate with many nulls in bitcoin but children should learn it from the outset because it's a future that already there

Well, you could use bitcoin as an example while teaching decimals, it is not against the rules I think. Besides, this could also enlighten some of your students that there is this bitcoin which exist outside their school. Somehow we might reach out some who could afford to still have time to learn.

I do not think this would be of a great utility. Also, I prefer people younger than adults to not be teached by force. You better talk about it in debates if there is this in your school than doing maths with it.

May be, it is but in my thinking, it is just like other currency, it don't need to teach. Because you never listen to anyone who is study about currency, we are only searching about any currency, so same like with bitcoin. But for me, it is a new way, where people can earn with interesting way, and you are right, IT professional definitely like it more than others, because they are all work doing on laptop, online crypto best use for all online professional.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
I doubt we will ever get there honestly even If bitcoin becomes known and used everywhere (speaking about math) but when It comes to IT/programming and how cryptography works then Its definitely that should be used and I guess there are already some courses in Coursera that does that , In fact I don't see better examples then bitcoin.

I think china teach it in school, but yes i highly doubt it also. 'Coz there is nothing to teach about bitcoin, if there is, it is on the financing field it teaches math and the origin of bitcoin. Also you are right on the programming thing, maybe they will introduce how bitcoin created and how to manage it. There are no special thing on bitcoin to teach, i will be glad if there is a course about bitcoin that teaches us to earn daily. But that is also in the internet so there is no use on putting it on the academic field.

In my opinion, most of the student in the classroom or in the school campus will not gonna be open minded about in bitcoin. Or in some instances bitcoin can be a hindrance to their study. I think it is much better for the students to focus their mind in studying n school not in bitcoin, unless if the student are open minded in opportunity like Bitcoin to anyone.

I think bitcoin won't be a hindrance for kids study especially when it is introduced in their Mathematics Class and at the same time Economics Class.  Just as what the early reply said, Bitcoin is best example for decimal topic, while in Economics it will be tackle as currency and difference between the fiat money.

I disagree with you. Students love to learn about new things and there is no doubt that most of them will try to figure out what Bitcoin is if you ever teach them about it. I used to be a college student when I first heard about Bitcoin. Then, I smashed all the internet in order to find more and more information about Bitcoin. Trust me, they will like Bitcoin

Isn't the point of education to learn new things? I think limiting the curriculum to only subjects that students are "open minded" too would limit the curriculum to drugs, sex and rock n roll. "Been there, done that" and , it doesn't work :-)

No, I don't think it's possible. The government is making the curriculum and only the approved subjects are being taught in a school, if ever it will happen then that would be the time that the government has supported bitcoin which I think the possibility is not quite good. Let's be realistic and we do not need teachers as the internet is more comprehensive than their limited teaching.
Well, it seems like you do not read the news very often. IN some university, students are being taught about the blockchain as well as Bitcoin. At present, learning about digital currencies are viral and it is easy to find a job if you have some decent knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptos. As you can see, there are thousands of project which pay a lot for people who know about Bitcoin and its techniques

He idea is good. But the example that you wrote sounds like for elementary school. I doubt that little kids need to know that.
But I think some education about bitcoin needed for people generally. Many people don't understand bitcoin exactly cause of they don't get it.

When i was on the elementary we are already been taught about currencies so i guess that there is no difference at all in teaching them this one as well. You just have to teach it according to their level of understanding like they dont have to focus on bitcoin too much but instead the math subject

but there is no point in doing that in my opinion.
when you teach about currencies to kids at elementary level you are teaching them something useful that they are going to need, and also they can easily see it in the real world being used everyday everywhere but bitcoin is not like that, it is mostly an investment not currency and as a currency it is no used much and there is not much real world use cases you can give them as examples.

You have pointed your opinion and i respect that but i think you just degrade the value of bitcoin( as you labeled it to only as an investment scheme and not a currency?) I would just like to remind you sir that bitcoin is considered as cryptocurrency or a digital currency which is pretty obvious. So there actually a huge point on why we should teach it to elmentary level. Most especially that we are now on the tech era

Yup! he should learn what is bitcoin really is, and in investing one should really have to use a currency and I think that bitcoin is definitely a good choice to invest with but not an investment scheme because just like currency it can increase it's value and eventually decrease it and just like currency there are many ways of handling it store and save can also buy some load of stuffs that you need and there are plenty more to say that most people needs to have knowledge with, I think he is thinking that way because in their country Bitcoin is not liable in purchasing stuffs and not many merchants are accepting it!

introducing bitcoin to the kids is a great thing, but teaching math combine with bitcoin is going to confused the kids, but you can introduced bitcoin in economic for new payment, digital currency and the useful thing that can be used with bitcoin and how bitcoin impact someone life.
Teaching new generation about bitcoin is a good, because who knows one day they can develop bitcoin further
