This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?

In my opinion, most of the student in the classroom or in the school campus will not gonna be open minded about in bitcoin. Or in some instances bitcoin can be a hindrance to their study. I think it is much better for the students to focus their mind in studying n school not in bitcoin, unless if the student are open minded in opportunity like Bitcoin to anyone.
If this will be implemented, Bitcoin will be a seperate subject. Because even us new members or even the old members barely now the concept of Bitcoin. Only a few people fully understand Bitcoin. But I think it will be impossible because it would take a lot of time to master Bitcoin or even understand it. But Bitcoin can be independently studied by students if they have the will for it.

He idea is good. But the example that you wrote sounds like for elementary school. I doubt that little kids need to know that.
But I think some education about bitcoin needed for people generally. Many people don't understand bitcoin exactly cause of they don't get it.

No I don't really think that it would work. Bitcoin is barely known to the world and it wouldn't make sense to randomly use it to tech Maths some day.

However, this idea could work for subject like economics and perhaps IT.

to teach bitcoins or to use bitcoins in teaching
one has to introduce several notions such as:blockchain, mint, decentralised money etc. etc.
think it can be used for things like IT or programming or cryptography but not math(or any basic stuff for kids)
simply because you cannot teach simple things using more complicated as a basis
I agree. Math is math if you wanna teach math it's all about math problems only teaching math is different from bitcoin. You can teach bitcoin using seminar. But using it in school lesson a very big no. We cannot do that because the learning focus of that is academics lesson not bitcoin lesson.

We dont need to teach Bitcoin in school as a subject. It can just be given as an overview once or twice to the students so they know there is another digital currency other than their own local currency. Bitcoin is not a big discussion so there is no reason to start it as a separate subject.
I agree with you mate that it is not needed to make or teach those students in school regarding bitcoin I guess overview is enough unless your country uses bitcoin already.
i think they should teach about bitcoin just as currency, because in future bitcoin will be use as currency for shopping, therefore if they get some good knowledge about bitcoin then it will good in their favour.

Just like we are studying binary numbers in our computer classes as these are used in computer calculations we also have to teach about blockchain and bitcoin in computer classes. If students from their beginning will learn about bitcoin then they will be very efficient when they come in professional field.

I don’t think it is necessary we can use fiat already for anything of that, and for cryptography you can use pen and paper, you can use it to rise awareness but that is it.

That's can't possibly be the case. Let say that you want to introduce the pupils from elementary school to decimals you have speaking to them about things they know, they can see and they can hold. Of course they can understand that 1 cent is 0.01 USD because they have seen it. There is no reason imo speak to them about bitcoin with a goal to learn maths. Maybe in 16+ years old in the lesson of economics or something like that where they will speak about money a well informed professor would introduce them in bitcoin payment system. As far as it concerns the IT computing lesson the way I see it is cryptography algorithms and things like that are an advanced lesson for high school.

Do not think it will be used as the OP said. But, for sure, in the future Bitcoin will be quoted sometime during the student life, whether in history lessons or talking about economics, this will be a subject on the agenda.

Its not time for bitcoin in the school. Why would children bother with economy in the schools? Its ridiculous, bitcoin should be like its now currency and currency should be in studied in college like part of economy. With so much connections with technology, also this departments can study blockchain.

I think BTC should be thaught in school maybe from High School.

There is a lot of useless junk that kids learn in school, but BTC would not be one of them.

They should all learn about cryptography, as part of math lesson, but there should also be a separate class for economics (austrian economics of course).

But also a separate class that for Bitcoin and cryptographic consensus systems, blockchains, decentralization ,etc.

But that will never happen of course ,because govt doesnt want you to know about them, especially not about decentralization. All they want is centralized central planning communist powergrabs.

So you wont learn in school, anything useful.

I find the idea of bitcoin used as study help very interesting and needed. But who is gonna teach kids with the help of bitcoin analogy when most people have no idea what BTC is?
We need to increase all social awareness, and we will find bitcoin in our math books instead of standard and ancient math problems constructed around counting apples.

yes, good idea
i think if this is happening people dificult to learn will easier learn bitcoin , people not interest about bitcoin will interesting with bitcoin ways trought discussion in classroom

it does not really matter at this point. because all the information is on the internet. we can find it easily. learning through the internet in my opinion is more understandable because we could have a lot of references about bitcoin.

the goal in class is to teach something. if it is math, then you should teach math. if i count with apples or satoshis is not important, but the focus should be on learning math not on learning bitcoin.

That makes sense, but you'd be surprised by how literal kids can be when they're trying to learn decimals. That apple isn't one tenth of anything other than a box of ten apples. It's one apple. You don't necessarily have to explain much more about Bitcoin than what a Satoshi is, and maybe how to obtain some Bitcoin, for our purposes.

Well this will fall under the category of decimal places, regardless if bitcoin is used or not.  They can even use fiat currency for it.  But for exposure sake, this is a good way to introduce bitcoin to kids especially if you always use the term BTC or Bitcoin in that whole topic.

If I go with your maths example, then I hardly agree with you that it will create any difference. I personally hardly remember any situation problem from my Maths classes.
Well if we talk about core Bitcoin study then it would be good. "Money" is important study under Economics if blockchain added in it with Bitcoin as case study then it would be positive modernisation!

If bitcoins are mentioned in classrooms from teachers side, then they should be integrated when the fiat systems are mentioned.
And it should not turn out to be an advertisement event for crypto currencies. Just an impartial information that something like bitcoin exists. Maybe including some benefits and disadvantages.
In maths, it's hard enough to keep up with the numbers. It would be too much if kids had to calculate in units they do not know what it is.

Yeah I agree. You are meant to go to school so that you can learn life skills before you get a job and survive for yourself. Children definitely do get taught about currency and maybe when Bitcoin becomes a global currency, children will be taught about it.

Children definitely do get taught about currency
[/quote]

Yeah, first they get told that pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters are money. Then are told that a paper "dollar" is equal in value to 4 junk metal quarters. Once their brain is scrambled with that nonsense they are ready to be fed the lie that infinitely increasing accounting ledger entries in a bank's computer are equal in value to the paper dollars.

Then, once you get them that mentally retarded, you tell them that the government spent more than they could take in in taxes AND that the government could have digitally created (but didn't) so now they (government) had to go out and "borrow" some previously created digital accounting entries (while they were still minors and not voting) and now the children need to pay off that debt they inherited.

Also, since the kids are now in debt, what's a few more tens of thousands on top of that so borrow a ton of digitally created computer entries to get an "education" so you can get a good job (so you can pay off the debt).

I love the way they teach them currency.

Bitcoin is a digital currency which based on internet. As a virtual currency I could not find any specific reason so that we need a study in school.Even It not possible while Bitcoin are limited some few of countries. Many countries central bank has warned against dealing in Bitcoin, also saying anybody caught using the virtual currency could be jailed. So there no particular reason need to teach Bitcoin in school as a subject.
