Those news outlets who aren't talking about bitcoin won't have a choice as it continues to grow and keeps gaining more and more traction. Honestly it should be covered more than it is, but as with all new technologies we must give it time to become easier to understand and easier to adopt, give people time to trust it. People fear what they do not understand.

yeah it seems that the media is starting to cover bitcoin more and more with the current price moves
even here we have people who predict events for 2017 , I don't know if you are familiar with these and I'm not saying that I believe them
but one of them is a Lebanese and called Mike Feghali , he said that in 2017 we will see a new currency that will see the light and it will have huge impact in the world

most likely he did some researches about bitcoin  Smiley

Bitcoins is also in news in India because of the decision taken by their government and hence people are now moving towards saving money in the form of bitcoins and gold. Smarter people prefer BTC and stubborn people choose gold.

Btc is certainly not without its risks, but there is great potential.

I don't watch the news at all.  What I have is an old piece of shit television and a DVD player.  Haven't had cable TV--or any stations--since 2001.  If you ask me what's going on in the world, I could not tell you.  I get my news from conversation with people, which I try to keep to a minimum.  Occasionally I check yahoo finance, but that's it.

This bitcoin run has got to have made the mainstream news.  I know the financial analysts are looking at bitcoin.  Don't know what they really think of it, but any asset that's shooting to the moon is on their radar.  Guaranteed.

This boom, I think, is at least partially because newbies are buying in.  That's usually what happens in a bull market.  Scary.

I remember the time when I have just heard about bitcoin in the news in 2008. And I remember correctly that that time they were talking about bitcoin that it's some pyramid that will fail soon. So I didn't paid attention to bitcoin to the last year when my boyfriend started to interested in it. And at first I accepted it very sceptic, cause of I still had that imagination that I heard on the news about the pyramid.

I am very, very interested to hear where you heard about bitcoin 'in the news in 2008', simply because that doesn't fit my timeline at all.

Oh i see. I am little bit late knowing bitcoin . I had known bitcoin since last year at oktober 2015. My Friend told me about bitcoin because i ask to him how to good ways to looking for money by easy ways and he prefer me to join this forum.
Yeah i didn't know bitcoin from any news but my friend told me about it.

Most of the people here got to know about the Bitcoins in the same way. The main reason is coz people won't believe on something quickly which is shown on news channels these days. Huh

Even knowing that media has made a huge speculation around bitcoin, the most people were introduced to bitcoin from the faucets, i havent watched anywhere about bitcoin, in fact i had researched a lot till i find this forum, and till i believe i would get paid to post. Something i had been part in the past but adsense as always banned the website and took my investment away, anyway the thing is bitcoin is back to the 4 digits lets see how it will run along the year.

Is it possible for BTC to reach a trillion dollar market cap. If you think yes then how could BTC reach that level? What kind of utility will BTC have to evolve into to make that possible?
Nothing other than removing peoples negative mind set for bitcoin. Bitcoin is already capable of handling more than trillion dollar market cap easily as even 1 satoshi can be exchanged and if 1 satoshi can act as 1 cent, 1 bitcoin can easily be 1 milllion USD so obviously bitcoin marketcap be way more than just 1 trillion.

But then we really would need a second layer on top of bitcoin for people to use it, even if there was a bitcoin standard.

smart people invest in both and only uninformed or those with very little amount of money invest in one of these.

the experienced investors always suggest that when you are investing your money you should diversify. but if you have a very small amount, then choose one and stick with that one. and that is what most people are doing.

This is good news. More countries are supporting bitcoin, the greater the strength of the world economy. we must continue to encourage the government to accept bitcoin as a legitimate financial payment media.

Hmm, but I see or know that all of you are talking about the one thing that does belong in the category news. Because the news was also divided into two parts: written and oral. Where is the news you get comes from the oral oral, that is your friend. So, whether you know or any early knowing bitcoin. That certainly bitcoin just like with other places, that can give you an advantage if you want to work hard and not lazy

I'm surprised that a show like that would even consider legitimately talking about Bitcoin, but any exposure is good, whether its good or bad news.

I'm curious if we're going to see some people really start talking about Bitcoin sometime soon, and whether or not this is going to be an upturn in Bitcoin becoming mainstream remains yet to see, but it looks like good news so far.

The next wave of adoption will bring us much more exposure in the mainstream media. The question is when & why will this happen.

Hmm.. Well, why did the last 'wave of adoption' happen? And who can get hooked this time that wasn't last time?

It usually happen, when centralized services or governments make stupid decisions to limit people's freedom and then Bitcoin is used to

circumvent these limitations. Examples : MasterCard stopped tx's on Backpage.com and Bitcoin was used / Greece limits ATM withdrawals and

people turned to Bitcoin.  Grin

We should always keep in mind the possibility of such events in the future. We think that fiat money belongs to us, but in reality it belongs to the government. Even when we have cash under the mattress and don't use banks, the government still has the power to make this cash useless by constantly devaluing it or confiscating its purchasing power with just one sweep. I think it can be said that Bitcoin belongs only to free market in this regard.

In my view, the last wave of adoption happened when Bitcoin price started to grow from the lows of $200 in the fall of 2015. If it were not new people entering the Bitcoin world, what else could explain then the gradual increase in price that went on till well into the halving? The next wave should come when Bitcoin gets successfully updated and becomes ready to absorb this new wave of adoption.
