I see this as hidden advertising of GameCredits, because it totally does not belong between news of Kinguin and Steam. In fact there are dozens of cryptocoins that focus on gaming and GM is just one of those smaller markets. It's also very volatile so price can go down 300 - 400 % easily, ofcourse it can grow too it's speculation.

I personally just started using bitcoin to start purchasing things on steam. it is super easy

Did you adopt Bitcoin to enable you to buy games online via Steam and were there any restrictions why you could not buy games previously with the other payment methods? I know that the age limits on certain payment option is a barrier for some people. Please start your own thread and give us some insight into your first experience with Bitcoin and how you heard about it.

When big companies like Steam enters the market, adoption will increase. The thing that interests me the most is, were there any barrier to entry for these people before, and what motivated them to start using Bitcoin over other payment methods. ^hmmmm^

Bitcoin has grown rapidly in the videogame industry. But there are still some things to do, since there are already many online video game store that accepts Bitcoin. I hope the console manufactures (PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox) will do the same later, because we not only need the game. We also need the consoles

Well regarding Xbox (and anything microsoft really) you can buy stuff with BTC already. I am sure down the road the rest will follow Grin

Forgive me, I'm totally forgot about that. Microsoft has already accepts Bitcoin as a payment method Grin

The one connection I would love to see that will never happen, is getting Blizzard Entertainment on board.
Just with World of Warcraft it would allow more fluid exchanges and create dynmics like PvP betting or player purchases. Have not played in years but know bitcoin could benefit, its just convincing Blizzard it would help their bottom line.
Gaming industry looks to go virtual as the next big step I believe and bitcoin needs to beat the front gate when that happens to solidify its self.

I am with you on that mate.... I desperately want them to incorporate Bitcoin into StarCraft. I would like to buy personalized skins and play PvP {1on1} games against people for money. It will be

absolutely awesome if they offered Bitcoin prize money for the top players and also players in the top 3 positions in the league rankings. There are limitless opportunities for Blizzard to incorporate

micro payments into their games... Grin

Little out of the scene but was reading a article about CS:GO skins in relation to gambling and sales. Had no idea about this aspect of gaming and thought it was a pretty cool concept for wagering on games or making some side change.

Keep waiting for Blizzard to create something new I can be a early adopter of as opposed to dredging up my Rogue at lvl 80 I think to play catch up. Saw a add for a game for the xbox but it looked like a kids game, which was dissappointing. Need a strategy, worlds game to grab on to.
