Bitcoin has grown rapidly in the videogame industry. But there are still some things to do, since there are already many online video game store that accepts Bitcoin. I hope the console manufactures (PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox) will do the same later, because we not only need the game. We also need the consoles

The one connection I would love to see that will never happen, is getting Blizzard Entertainment on board.
Just with World of Warcraft it would allow more fluid exchanges and create dynmics like PvP betting or player purchases. Have not played in years but know bitcoin could benefit, its just convincing Blizzard it would help their bottom line.
Gaming industry looks to go virtual as the next big step I believe and bitcoin needs to beat the front gate when that happens to solidify its self.

Autumn Radtke mentions in her speach on Virtual Currencies that Blizzard

is strongly against Virtual money being used outside it's games

Besides Kinguin, there's also G2A that's accepting Bitcoin, they've done this for a pretty long time.
And I think The Humble Bundle also accepts Bitcoin.

Bitcoin for betting on video games makes a better match to me.
It is being tried out by several companys that are banking on it to be successful.

they should add micro transaction in bitcoin too, i mean those transaction that happen in-game, it would be neat as a new way of payment

my idea for example was about having as a resource for an RTS, some altcoin, so why you play you earn coin that are used to build your stuff, only by winning the match you can retrieve those coin as a reward

Bitcoin is a perfect fit for MMOGs, because it provides a much more frictionless on-ramp gateway for purchases of in game currency. In addition, depending on the implementation it can also offer maximum transparency and security regarding ownership of game assets. There are already some independent games that use Bitcoin-based tokens as an in game currency. But I think these are only the earliest attempts of utilizing Bitcoin in this sector.

In future, I would expect big game projects joining the Bitcoin scene. The coming virtual worlds will be directly connected to the real one at the currency level. This will have positive growth effects for the MMOG market and Bitcoin alike.

Hey don't be so pessimistic. How are you sure that it will never happen?

I'm pretty sure that if bitcoins gain global adoption, Blizzard would too. I tried suggesting it to Garena as well but so far, they have ignored me (well of course, coming from a stranger).

Bitcoin is a prefect match for virtual goods like video games. Good start but hopefully it will expand further into other areas in our day-to-day life, like F&B, gas station, etc...

Well even though it's nice to see about how you could withdraw your earning in BTCitcoin now (on Kinguin) and exchange it to GM and other digital currencies or vice versa (Gamecredits), it still lacks something. Recent BTCitcoin payment implementation in steam is really great but more platforms should embrace it if it's going to make it known much better. For instance does online platforms that you need to buy certain premium privileges could have a good impact since users have to keep on using it, something like nexon platform might be good (for instance Warrock game needs this).

I don't think bitcoin in the gaming industry should be looked upon in any way different than any other section. It's known that the game industry is
in fact large and that will bring in extra popularity on the side of bitcoin, but so do all others, so i dont really consider it of such importance, altho it is very welcomed.
Steam accepting bitcoin was a surprise and a handy thing, because i use it a lot, but the real section where i see bitcoin going a step forward is gambling and not gaming.

Actually the only valid position on your list I would consider to had great impact on price and boosted BTC credibility is Stream acceptance.
Kinguin and similar service - G2A are great, but they are not that widely known nor used as Steam. And this Gamecredits company looks like gone into a dead end by creating their own altcoin...

By Huobi!(www.huobi.com).

BItcoin acceptance and the implementation of blockchain are expanding over a large quantity of fields around the worlds and the videogame industry is not the exception. During the last weeks a bunch of related news were released, from bitcoin payment acceptance to a universal videogame cryptocurrency exchange.

Kinguin:

  • The platform, whose mission is to provide sellers and buyers from all around the world the possibility to trade video games at a fair price, has quickly become the largest alternative marketplace to Steam. Kinguin has been accepting bitcoin payment since last year, however recently, they announced that merchants can now withdraw earnings in BTC as well, something no other platform has implemented yet. This conversion process is done by BitPay.

Gamecredits :

  • Last month the company released GameCredits (GM), a universal cryptocurrency that can be used across a variety of different games and platforms. The company also offers the first exchange that allows customers to transfer fiat currencies, such as the USD, into GameCredits (GM) or vice versa along with exchanging them with other digital currencies like BitCoin.

Steam :

  • Steam, developed by Valve Corporation, is the largest videogame marketplace in the world, receiving millions of users on a daily basis. In the last week of April, Valve announced that Steam is now accepting bitcoin payments through the processing service BitPay. With this policy the company seeks to offer payment options in less accessible areas of the world.
