Accepting bitcoin involves risk of price volatility for most of the companies so they will use third party services to accept bitcoin payments which will just sell whatever they will receive to convert into fiat, this will not help for bitcoin's price growth. And there are many companies which are doing same but i haven't heard about any insurance company taking insurance premium in bitcoin although it is possible.

Good day! i'm currently working on a life insurance company and I'm wondering if there is a company in the world that offers an insurance policy where in you can pay in bitcoin? I think it will be a good idea because it will be more convenient to pay in bitcoin. What do you think?

I don't know if there's a life insurance company that accepts bitcoin. But If you're working in that company what if you suggest to your boss that they try to accept bitcoin? It's a nice Idea. right? Just a suggestion. What if many bitcoin user will join in your insurance company and you will receive a promotion.

I do not think this type of service exists anywhere. At first I thought you wanted to suggest the idea of getting an insurance for your BTC wallet. You can implement BTC as a payment method fir sure, that would bring others' the curiosity about Bitcoin too maybe.

I don't believe those services will exist at all, maybe some, untill the bitcoin price stabilizes and doesn't drop and rise for  couple of hundred dollars. Businesses don't want to take that risk right now because of those price drops, probably in the future when the price changes aren't that significant, we could see a lot more services like that that work with large quantaties of bitcoin since now bigger businesses mainly use bitcoin for fast small transactions.

when i saw the subject i though a plan about insuring people's bitcoin holdings in their cold storage specially since you said you work at an insurance company! because that would have made sense (not a good idea though).
but paying your insurance money with bitcoin is like paying for anything else with bitcoin, as long as you can find people who are willing to spend their bitcoins and not just hold it as an investment it is a good service.

You mean accept as currency or insure the safety of bitcoins? first one is not even accepted by the small and online shops even games not yet accept bitcoin at least not the majority.
Insuring the safety of money is in the banks area of expertise and since bitcoins in bank vaults or in your home small vault both are equally safe there is no need to insure your bitcoins.
This also goes back to the usual exchange to fiat first and then use that cash to pay such companies story Smiley

I don't know any company as of now that accepts Bitcoin as payment and no company can afford to because of the price volatility first, then Bitcoin is not a official currency they shall be breaking the laws of the country in which they operate if they were to accept. As much as we all Bitcoin users would love, to have something like this, it would create a pain in future as the contact would be declared void and your claim would not be honored so I would be careful to do such transactions, even if the company allows.
