There is no doubt that the best investment currently is bitcoin, I use bitcoin as main investment because it is currently the most profitable and this trend will continues for long term.
It is really good to invest right now because for me, bitcoin nowadays really in demand and it increases every year, so I think in the next 10yrs it wll increases more and we should start to invest now than later. 
I think nobody can hold their bitcoin for 10 years. I do not think you should hold your bitcoin for too long because you can make a profit even if you just hold it in a short time
Bitcoin is the most popular and also most known crypto money. There are not many people who know for example litecoin or ethereum or even dogecoin. Maybe ripple a little bit. But many people is informed about bitcoin. Which make bitcoin more precious than other coins.

The segwit is one of solution for the problem block size on bitcoins, although this solution is still in debating but

Here in my opinion we should have both type of coins for the speed profit .
According to me buy the Bitcoin and invest the Bitcoin amount in the most stable and powerful altcoin like ETH , DASH , Montero , ripple , dgb etc and then left it with patience to wait to increase
Dash is like Doge, though stripped of all the fun of it
And unlike Doge, it comes with expensive transactions. Yesterday I tried to use it as a value transfer vehicle to move my funds from one exchange to another, and I had to pay 1 dollar in fees (well, three fourths of that were outright stolen by the exchange but still). When I received the amount transferred to my Bitfinex account (I was moving coins there), I tried to sell the coins (looking for a small arbitrage) and it was a disaster, mildly speaking. Ultimately, I was lucky to sell them and even book some minor profits (covering the fees with a bonus added), but it became as clear as day to me that Dash is just another shit coin that got hyped somehow. And what d'ye think, it lost one fourth of its value within 24 hours
