The stock market is 70% overvalued ... crash now inevitable

Author Charles Dickens' classic, A Tale of Two Cities, begins this way: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness ... ."

According to one stock market analytical firm, GMO, today's market behavior resembles Dickens' book, which was published in 1859 and was set during the time of the French Revolution some seven decades earlier.

As the firm noted, in recent days much of the investing and financial world was focused on a meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, attended by Federal Reserve chairperson Janet Yellen. But GMO analysts were watching other things and events happening in the market.

In August, the firm noted in its monthly report – reproduced in part by Zero Hedge – that Shiller P/E, a respected metric for measuring U.S. equities valuation, surpassed 27. Given that normally its range is somewhere slightly above 16, it appears that valuations are looking a bit larger than they should be.

What's more, GMO noted, the last time the Shiller P/E was above 27 was in October 2007, "and we all know how that movie ended," the GMO report said.

'A tale of mediocrity, at best'

And though no one at the analytical firm is saying that the nation and the world are set to experience another Great Recession and near-meltdown of the global economic order – and nothing is written in stone saying that stocks are not allowed to become more expensive – "we continue to maintain our bias against U.S. stocks," the firm said in its report.

At the same time, the firm said, it was tracking a widening disconnect between fundamentals of the U.S. economy, corporate America and their stocks. "It really is a tale of two cities," the analytics firms said, "one of mediocre fundamentals versus a meteoric rise in markets."

In assembling some relevant metrics pertaining to the overall health of the economy and some top-line/bottom-line figures from the S&P 500 index, the firm looked at gross domestic product growth, productivity and household income, in addition to some others like revenue and earnings for U.S. stocks, just to round out the assessment.

"It is a tale of mediocrity, at best," the firm wrote in its report.

After that, analysts contrasted those metrics with actual market returns of the S&P 500 Index spanning the past five years. "Truly meteoric," the firm wrote, adding this caveat: "As an aside, we at GMO have always been leery of drawing too many investment conclusions from staring at economic data–we are more valuation-oriented, after all–but even we are struck by the divergence."

Cool

You may need to invest cause , it has a higher value than other alt coins, in terms of when it will be converted to real moneys. And also it has a lot of investors now. People continues to get attached in earning bitcoins and investing on it.

Yes, I agree with you. Despite the fact that now there are many different alternative coins, people most of all trust and invest in bitcoin.
Growing popularity is the main reason for investing in bitcoin now.

Because many companies are now investing to bitcoins.we can make it too. Bitcoin has a higher value in the market nowadays. We can go with the rising value of it. And there are many ways to spend it just like what the real money does.

Beyond subjective opinons there are many objective facts that support the future development fo this currency.

- Since the huge 2008 crisis, millions of people know that banks & usual financial assets (bonds, funds, stock...) are not such a safe place for your money. Some have been buying Classic Cars, Collector watches, or real estate...But BTC, not being tied to banks or to the financial big players is obviously strongly needed by those who want a completly new alternative for their money. People have much less trust in banks, retirement funds, currencies and governments than before ; hence, as a consequence, the considerable and steady growth of the BTC market value in the last few years.

- The fact that the BTC doesn't go through your bank account is obviously an irreplaceable advantage from a privacy standpoint - in a post-Snowden world, many "ordinary" people are not keen on having their expenses and income spied and monitored all the time, and their "spending profile" being sold to/by the GAFAM & the like.

- There are also a large number of whealthy people who find the BTC extremely useful to "optimise" their tax situation - considering that most governments, whilst pretending the opposite, do nothing to make life difficult for big companies and for the "1 per cent"...

- My understanding is that the cryptographic nature of the BTC makes it very resistant to hacking. Even though I know that in theory, one can track and follow each BTC, it demands so much time and man(/CPU)power to do it on a large scale that in the real world it doesn't happen, or almost never.

- The transfer speed seems by far higher than bank transfers, especially cross borders, and this criteria, associated with the irreversibility of payments makes it very unique and precious for some kind of (legal or not so legal) business.

- Also, the BTC cannot be "printed" ad libitum by State central Banks, and since the demand will be growing for the reasons here above, the market price of BTc has to rise.

These are the main reasons why I am very confident that the BTC is still undervalued on the market. Of course, some of us have concerns about the future of BTU (and possibly other "competitors"), but the majority of experts and competent people, even when they disagree on the reasons, seeem to think that the current "bumpy" period of time will come to an end, and the situation will remain in favour of the BTC.
I would not be surprised if the value went much beyond the current level, and of course beyond the record peak reached in the recent past.
[Of course, I am not a financial analyst (do they know more than us ..??) and my opinion cannot be considered as an advice or recommendation. It is common sense that every one should do their own homework an decide themselves what to do for their investments, based on their own judgment.]

It's up to you of course. Bitcoin is above the $1,000 range and if you want to see your money grow then I would suggest that you have a little bit of of research on the trend patterns that Bitcoin has. When you research the trend pattern you could see if Bitcoin will go a certain direction, anything could happen though. Eliminating the most risk possible is what you should do.
I would invest at $1,029.00.

At $1035.00 I would say it's a major bargain. I am buying as much of it as I can.

Yes true, good idea, 2 weeks ago the price was still $1100, I believe this is a great opportunity to be able and a good thing, because 1 or 2 more months again we will get profit. I'm also going to buy as much as I can.

Investing in bitcoin is good but invest only that amount that you can afford to loose as no one knows what will be the scenario in future and if you put huge amount in it and if bitcoin fails or under performs then it will make you to go through huge losses so diversify your investments in different products.
is true even if bitcoin a potential investment, but the risk will continue to be viewed bitcoin has fluctuated. certainly if you're not ready to lose you'd panic if the price falls

The final end of course bitcoin seen as a very good investment. the price is so fast up and down makes people interested in investing when the price drops. Well, I think many are waiting for the price of bitcoin is under $ 1000, so that they can buy bitcoin in large numbers.

Price has started to move up now so I don't think the price will go below $1000 in coming days as everyone is expecting the price of $1200 in next couple of days so if you want to buy then you can afford to buy even with today's price.
In few days, I wanted buy some bitcoins when it reach 850$. I see bitcoin price in 950-990$. But I decide to waiting some days. Now the price increase more than 1000$. My chance for getting some of bitcoin with my expected price is losted. It is unfortunate. I think i will await more. I changed my decision. I will buy if the price will be 900$. I hope that the price fall to 900$.
Yes it is worth to buy Bitcoin at 800-850$, Because at present situation the price will go down below 800$. I hope this full year the price will fluctuate b/w 900 - 1200$. So if you get a chance to buy coins around 850$, it is good worth, But I am not sure you will get chance to buy Bitcoins at this price. If you buy more than 1 BTC then this price worth. If you are a small amount trader then I don't know how much profit you will get.

yeah bitcoin really very good investment for now because bitcoin price is very stable and good to buy and there is a huge number of people are going to increase its price too much faster in the near future and i hope we will be get a good profit from bitcoin .

Ok let me complete the Sentence. Bitcoin is a good investment now, because ... Bitcoin is the emerging digital currency which will be adopted by masses in the future. and currently very few people world wide know about this currency.

Bitcoin is a good investment because we are getting some benefits like price increase easy to use when we are buying things online that accepting bitcoin as payment.. bitcoin for me is always good to choose to invest and you can make more profit if you hold more bitcoins for a long time.
Yes bitcoin is really a good invesment . In my country we have an application coin.ph where you can pay bills and convert it to load. Then you'll receice an percentage of it. Aside fpr that you can easilly manage the value of bitcoin by converting it . And we all know that the value increase day by day so we can earn by investing on it.
I know that application that you are talking about, yeah it was really good but one thing I don't like with it once you have a balance in coins.ph in peso currency then you want to convert it into bitcoin their deduction percentage was in between 5% to 6%. But anyway, as long as the value of bitcoin now was in 1000$ dollar almost take the chance to buy it.

I would wait a couple days before putting money into Bitcoin because the price is volatile. Since Bitcoin just recovered from the dumps earlier this week, the price isn't at a right area to put money in.
A couple of days waiting isn't going to hurt a bankroll, considering the long-term value of Bitcoin is going to have people wanting to purchase at a high price. Once you purchase the coin try to have it remain inside a wallet so you could spend it when it gets more expensive.
That is how you are suppose to do with bitcoin. Since any time, we expect volitallity in bitcoin then why don't we take it as an advantage. This is the reason why I cash in some of my fiat savings last week. I bough btc at its lowest point for this month and I'm still holding it, waiting to hit its highest point again the will sell it to buy agin after ot volitile.

Bit coin is a good investment now, because the popularity of bitcoin is increasing day by day. If we invest in some other business we may loose our money, but investing on bitcoin is safer one. No body can cheat or stole bitcoin. I we buy bitcoin now it will help us for our future.

Investing in bitcoin doesn't goes fully risk free as there is certain risk associated with it too as we are not sure what will be the price of bitcoin in future so in that case its a risky investment to make but so far bitcoin has performed well so lets hope that it continues to perform in same way in future too.
Yes that is right. There is no risk free investment even on bitcoin. All kind of source of income involves risk that can lead us to positive or negative side but bitcoin seems will go higher in the next year because we can see now that the bitcoin is getting stronger and the one who will earn less are those people who will not invest now.

Bitcoin is good as an investment so a person who has money to invest can go for bitcoins as it can give him best returns in future but we need to make sure that we don't invest all our money in bitcoins as there is a big big question mark on the future of bitcoins.
Yup that is right, Don't be greedy in investing all your money because there is no assurance that bitcoin can survive for a long run. So it is best if we divide our money from investing in bitcoin and also doing some investment offline like building our own business to create back up source of income.
Yes, that's right! Investors here not have a characteristic of greediness this will eat you investment if become neglectful. Though, true there is no assurance for everything. That's why investors are risk taker, right? But still, at this point of time bitcoin was a good investment to do and let take the chance that wwe can afford to buy it unlike in the end it will be hard for us to buy it because its too expensive.

If you want to buy bitcoins then buy it now as price is comparatively lower at a moment and may be in next few years it will be much higher so at that time it will become difficult to buy even a small portion of bitcoins and that would be the best time to sell bitcoins.

with little capital even though it would generate a great income if you want discipline and patience in investing in bitcoin many people have proven that investing in bitcoin proved beneficial

Those were the early adopters who invested in bitcoins when the price was too low and now they have made enough profits from it but now with this price its impossible to make huge investment in bitcoins and there is also a risk that price can go lower in future.
