Now that bitcoin is more valuable in most countries, that shouldn't be a property it should be an investment, those who see bitcoin as property should learn more or read more about bitcoin and how it works.
Almost all countries bitcoin is very valuable nowadays and even though it is banned in some of those countries. There are so many differences between property and investment and absolutely no relationship between the two, it could be that people think of bitcoin as property because it is capable of retaining value, but that is not the case in interpreting the two.

To me, bitcoin is an investment and also a treasure, I don't know if am wrong or right.
But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?
It's irrelevant to say bitcoin by any other name, whether it's treasure, property or gold. Bitcoins are unique by name and bitcoins will still be referred to as bitcoins. If asked and continue to be forced to ask, then bitcoin can be said to be the best investment that has a risk of price fluctuations.

Bitcoin is an investment in the future and could be a treasure in the future, and I disagree if Bitcoin is considered property because property is very much different from investing in Bitcoin, although both will indeed be our assets in the future but the way both work is very different, if we do not explore the crypto world maybe we can think of Bitcoin as property of the future, Because Bitcoin is also an asset of our future, despite the differences in our thinking but the purpose is the same.

Investment is a name suitable for Bitcoin, in fact, it is a currency as it was meant to be.

No currency is as volatile as bitcoin, if it becomes stable, I will agree with you. Until now, Bitcoin has been nothing more than a speculative tool, a tool to create a market that is manipulated, with high volatility, to attract all gamblers to join with the dream of getting rich quickly. Bitcoin is going completely in the wrong direction from what Satoshi created it.

For me, bitcoin is an investment and the thing I put my biggest trust in to get big profits and change my life. Honestly, I am also interested in other benefits of bitcoin, but if it's not profitable, I wont need those, and I believe everyone is like me. There's nothing wrong with treating it like a treasure, but others see bitcoin as a currency, and that's not wrong either. What Bitcoin does depends on the purpose of each person.

If it had no other benefits it would be just a Ponzi scheme so it is very important that bitcoin is much more than just an investment asset, even for those who use it just as an investment asset. Prospective bitcoin has is based on that it is an alternative financial system and it gives it a trust which in its turn gives bitcoin its value. It is not mandatory for everyone to understand it, but this makes bitcoin what it is and gives different opportunities for us all regardless of the depth of understanding.

But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?
I won't say anything about Bitcoin but I just consider this as an investment, nothing else. If someone calls it a treasure, then that was their take but because of the nature of Bitcoin, it won't help to change my mind either. A treasure is something that we can see hundreds or thousands of years from now but if we talk about Bitcoin, never we can say that way.

Of course, we can't say it will just be for a short period of time but also we can never think that it will last for many years. Investment is a name suitable for Bitcoin, in fact, it is a currency as it was meant to be.

Good Day medium, there is something I will want us to be aware of since bitcoin is a life-changing investment some people are taking it as property, I say this because I overhear someone making a call and saying he has 2BTC and that's is his property.
Now that bitcoin is more valuable in most countries, that shouldn't be a property it should be an investment, those who see bitcoin as property should learn more or read more about bitcoin and how it works.

what do you call BITCOIN?
Bitcoin is the future, the future of money. Whatever perception you have about bitcoin is due to the use case that you engage in. If bitcoin provides you an opportunity to invest, bitcoin will be viewed by you as an investment opportunity but it does not still change the original purpose which it was created for which is;
to be a payment option...

You can invest in bitcoins now because of the volatility that has created room to make profit from buying bitcoins, but if that is the only perception you have about it, When in the future bitcoin prices are no longer as volatile as they use to be, you may become discouraged holding bitcoins in general because what you know it for is no longer as it used to be.

As you invest in bitcoins, still try to engage other uses and functions. To achieve Satoshi's dream and prove that his innovation is successful, use bitcoins also for some transactions when you can.

You have it wrong OP, it is not an investment. Satoshi Nakamoto developed it to be a payment option... not an investment option. Go read the White Paper on Bitcoin and see what Satoshi calls it.

Like "cash" or fiat currencies... people can trade with it (Forex markets) but it is primarily supposed to be a currency. Anything you own.. can be your property... so it does not have to be a house or a piece of land.  Tongue
I would say "asset" is the best word. Dollar could be an asset, stocks could be assets, gold, oil, wheat, house, building, car, anything could be an asset as long as you are investing into it and have a reason for putting in money and how you plan to make a profit from it. At the same time, I believe that you shouldn't really invest into cars of course, not a viable option in many nations but at the end of the day crypto is an asset just like all the others.

It means that you could invest, and use it if you want to, but if you plan on buying and making a profit from it then you are doing the right thing and you should be profiting from it as well.

Bitcoin is currency.
I mean bitcoin is money.
Anyone that has money can call it their property.
Anyone that has money can call it their treasure because they treasure it.
So, there is no contradiction anywhere. The most important thing is to own bitcoin, you can call it whatever you want thereafter.

But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?
If Bitcoin is said to be a “treasure” it has a deeper meaning because it is in limited supply and difficult to obtain, similar to how treasure is a rare and valuable item.

In my opinion, why do many people like using Bitcoin as an investment because as a form of digital currency it has potential and can be used as an investment opportunity in the future, but what must be considered is that its value can fluctuate at any time.
I would guess that using it as currency is something most people feel terrible about because we know that it is something that will gain a lot of value and that means if we spend it then we are going to end up being sad about it when the time comes and it doesn't really look like we have enough like we used to.

So, if I spend 1 bitcoin at 25k+ right now and buy a car, then when the price becomes 100k per bitcoin then I would be upset because I could have bought 4 cars with it, that is the sad part about it. This is why I believe that we shouldn't have done this, it was a bad choice and we should have avoided that as long as we possibly could and that is why people don't spend it too much.

It is true, the original purpose of bitcoin was not created as an investment, but today it is and is considered an investment rather than a currency or a method of payment. I know some people want to turn bitcoin into a currency rather than an investment, but this is very difficult. Honestly, I also don't want to spend my bitcoins during this period, I just want to accumulate as much as possible because I believe the value of bitcoins will be huge in the future. It would be really wasteful to use bitcoin as currency and spend it on our daily expenses.

If I look at Bitcoin in general it is still considered a type of digital asset or cryptocurrency rather than a form of property or commodity and if I am not mistaken it operates outside of traditional legal and regulatory frameworks.

What is a property?
It is a thing or things which someone or a group of person owns. Propreties can either be an asset or a liability as such if someone sees Bitcoin as a property they are not far from reality.
 (....)
Lack of context from OP, we don't know if the meaning of "property" OP wants to say is the physical establishment or real state something or on another side is it's real Bitcoin and the "property" there is the physical backups of the keys of the wallet or maybe it is a hardware wallet, we don't know.
Or maybe we can also relate here to some real state properties are for sale using Bitcoin as a payment method, maybe that's an example.

An investment is an asset which can be added to one's portfolio be it online or offline as because Bitcoin can be addressed as an asset it can also be attributed as a property. Both properties and investment can possess both online and offline representation. So both can be used to describe Bitcoin which means it can be referred to as a property as well as an investment.

Not sure if this is a problem because of translation, but I don't think bitcoin is a property. For me property is a house or an apartment, something tangible I can live hin. It's specific to one fixed location and there can't be other people owning it if it's mine. Also it can't be traded quickly without lawyers involved in the deal. That's why bitcoin is a currency and an asset for me, which means its an investment. A treasure for me is something you find which is rare and there is no real value to it. Maybe in the broader sense bitcoin is treasure, but for me a treasure is more some gold jewelry you find hidden in the basement from your great great grandparents. A good thing for looking at bitcoin as a treasure would be that we are not going to give it away easily. A treasure usually has a high value to us and we wouldn't sell it cheaply.

To me, bitcoin is an investment and also a treasure, I don't know if am wrong or right.
But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?
Bitcoin is just Bitcoin. Simple as that.

Some might call it an asset, some might call it an investment, some might call it a scam, some might call it a treasure, some might call it a shitcoin, some might call it the way they wanted to, but Bitcoin is just Bitcoin and I will call it Bitcoin.

People call Bitcoin different things because of it's properties, and I understand that. It just that, I can't see Bitcoin as a treasure, or whatever. An asset or an investment is the closest thing that I can call to Bitcoin, but other than that is a no-no.
Bitcoin existence have served alot of purposes in the lives of traders and investors. Occasionally, it have been the sources of incomes in most families and they depends on it for their daily meal and existence on earth. Let's take a proper view from OP side, Bitcoin can be seen in all categories you mentioned because it's very important in the space and there's more chances of gaining enormously from it whenever it triggered the bull signal. It can be called whatever names you choose to give it because it have already served an essential tasks in your budgets.

I totally believe that he is referring to Bitcoin as his investment just as you see it but in a word he understands. If that person is referring to Bitcoin as his property I see it as an investment because having a property is also an investment that earns you profits over the years. The beauty is that that person owns 2BTC if he doesn't value Bitcoin he wouldn't be holding a whole 2BTC you do know that 2 BTC is life-changing in many locations right? so regardless of how people refer to it other than scam  Grin its ok.

Anybody can of course call bitcoin as their property or whatever they like to label/name it as long as they own them and have the keys with it, it's all the same thing and there's no need argue about how we should call it. Now let me ask you OP, aren't your investments your property too? And treasure as well? I certainly hope that your answer is yes.

It's up to you to describe what bitcoin is, but for me bitcoin is a currency and an investment asset.
I'm not going to say bitcoin is a treasure because in the end I have target and time frame to put it on the market. This means that the bitcoin that I have today are for sale in the future even though I am willing to hold them in the long term, for example the next 4-10 years.

Bitcoin is indeed very difficult to predict especially regarding its price and future, but this asset tends to be monitored even if you don't connect your wallet to the Internet. So I'm just going to say bitcoin as currency and an investment asset, that's all.
