I guess it is in many aspect in transaction i guess bitcoin is better and i believe it is just today and no doubt when bitcoin become more popular it will also conquer the visa in the coming years because it is more applicable to be use all over the world like others no doubt about that i guess it is really happening.
I see bitcoin much better than WU in any aspect, first of all the fees, The outrageous large % fees is much better than WU compared to BTC, as well as the open market allow transfer of payment without the need for offices like with WU. No ID's are needed and no restrictions, you can exchange the BTC to cash as much as you need through many various ways.
I think we should not compare bitcoin will Western Union, because bitcoin is a universal currency while Western Union is a payment method and we cannot compare both of them. Will i think bitcoin performs better than western union in terms of fees bitcoin is lesser, Somehow western union bacame a traditional payment method of many people specially overseas workers.
Fee calculation is a bit difficult and complex with Bitcoins. First you need to pay the transaction fee, while sending Bitcoins from one wallet to another. On top of that, you need to pay commissions and currency conversion charges when you sell your BTC for fiat.
Lmao western union is literally out of business in my place. The fact that they charge a shit load of fees on top of their slow transfer and verification is annoying as hell. Bitcoin is a million times better than WU since its faster and not to forget, we decide the fees.
Of course bitcoin is better than western union and also we are very near to bear Paypal . Western union it's hard to find offices in my country other wise we have to reach bank. Western union needs physical effort, more waiting period compare to bitcoin and high transfer charge. But PayPal giving security while buying thinks fro another country but bitcoin not so it may be the reason still PayPal above bitcoin
I believe you can also send money with WU online. It's a great solution for sending money to another country. Now that we have bitcoin, we don't need WU, right? Well with the ultra high fees that's only rising in bitcoin, I think Western Union is a viable option again.I don't know where you live, but I've fund many in small kiosks and supermarkets. They're not easy to spot though.
Certainly at present btc is better than Western Union considering the times and its simple to do it. You can transfer btc right form you place within minutes it shall reached . Though now it takes time since due to many unconfirmed transaction but on lb if you transfer within wallet its within second.

It all depends on the bitcoin rate you are getting and if it works for you to send in Bitcoin at a cheaper rate then yes it's better. Only problem is with bitcoin if you don't send a high enough fee it may get clogged up in the blockchain for days, whilst western union guarantees delivery within a certain time frame but can be quite expensive.
This is comparison of two different things because bitcoin is currency and Western Union is money service. To my opinion bitcoin is better because it's more convenient and easier to use, you can send bitcoins to someone without leaving your house but having in mind current fees it's not cheaper than Western Union anymore.

Make it simple. If your son or daugther is 1000 miles away, traveling and their car dies, that is Western Union time. If you want to send your son or daughter spending money for the week 1000 miles away, that is Bitcoin time.
But that value is converted in US Dollar, which means Bitcoin alone can't compete with Fiat as of yet. If you counted all the US$ transactions from Visas, Mastercards, Paypal, and Western Union it will dwarf what Bitcoin has. Sure Bitcoin has defeated Western Union but we all know only a less of the population is using the remittance center now because they prefer other methods such as bank wires and online deposits, which is a lot cheaper and quicker than Western Union.

Bitcoin had been a better means of sending money than western union My brothers based abroad sends money via bitcoin while I converted the bitcoin into my local currency through a currency exchanger avoiding the stress of stringent identification process of receiving money via western union.
How did you converted the Bitcoins to fiat cash? Did you used Localbitcoins? I would be surprised if you had used LBC, because they also have quite stringent identification requirements. Also, what about the vendor commissions in LBC? They can be quite steep, ranging from 3% to 5%.

Yes true, bitcoin is better than western union, if we compare the costs, then the bitcoin is cheaper, the security side of the bitcoin is also better, I'm sure western union users will switch to bitcoin if they already know the bitcoin.
