Yes it is but it just exposed negative sides without point out some positive impact of bitcoin. There are some countries or cities where people spend bitcoin to purchase daily needs such as in Arnhem, Netherland or in Japan. There are a lot of people could make a living or just extra money through bitcoin earnings, whether it is from mining, exchanges or trading which depends on cryptocurrencies to get money.

We have been listening to people say how shit bitcoin is for the last few years and yet bitcoin still  exist with even more powerful value, community and users. They keep on ranting how bitcoins are useless but what we are seeing right now is total different scenario. i would say the article itself is a garbage filled with rubbish and litters.

It has been happening on a larger scale now Bitcoin is the hottest thing in terms of investments, and in terms of people looking for a change in how they look at the financial system. Bitcoin as a whole is growing, so if you as non Bitcoin news site, or blog, or whatever, wants to attract a new type of audience, it will help that you dive into Bitcoin and start writing about it. In order to attract people to click on your articles, and raise your ad income, you have to come up with such bogus titles. Just let them bark as much as they want.

And I agree. There are many things with Bitcoin that may not really be perfect and that is just natural because Bitcoin is also evolving. As to its usage for gambling and money laundering, well, we have to understand that any currency can be used for that purpose so singling our Bitcoin may not really be fair. Hopefully, all of those valid points can be addressed by the Bitcoin stakeholders gradually.

While agree with some of the points in the article the whole fact that he took such a condescending tone is crazy. "Complete Garbage"? Come on. Then why is it worth $2500?

That's the issues with a lot of articles on the web these days. They are all taking a "click bait" or very argumentative stance. They want a group of people discussing and sharing their article just like this.

But your post is looks like more garbage to me. Bitcoin is a garbage? I don't think so. How come bitcoin is a garbage, the legit bitcoiners do know that bitcoin is helping people in a way, I mean bitcoin could help us if we want to help ourselves by doing it. I just can't accept that some of the people here are still posting nonsense like this. It seems that you guys dp need some attention to increase your post counts.

Indeed, let's respect every each opinion. For me bitcoins is not a garbage because actually bitcoin has made a lot of things for me. I think it depends on our perspective on how we will rate the bitcoin. It is matter of experience on bitcoin, if bitcoin frustrate you then you could say it's a garbage. That's my opinion.

I think the author wants to purchase more BTCs for him and that's why is hoping everyone will get rid of them... just joking of course, but I'm sure such articles must be paid by BTCs direct competitors, pure FUD as usual.

Yes, he might be right but if we all are great believers of this technology we should not listen or react to any of this column in any economic or news website.

No one can predict the future and no one can say who the cryptocurrency world will look like in a year or five years from now.

I agree, people does not see the same thing as other people saw it.  I can be frustrated using Bitcoin because my expectation on its scaling ability is high but then others can be contented and still praise that they are able to send money accross the globe without the use of any third party processor.  So I guess instead of us getting pissed on the article, why not we contemplate what the author is trying to say.

Well that is good opinions and all of peoples has opinions too, bitcoins has large of capitalization
 i don't think people who made investing into bitcoins with real money will be garbage

While this obscure writer makes some good points I still don't see how he jumps from "bitcoin is mainly useful for money laundering and gambling" to "BTC is complete garbage!!". Complete lack of logical consistency. Not even taking into consideration the almost 0 inflation rate, the brilliance and transparency of blockchain, the difficulty in mass political collusion and market manipulation and only factoring in the darkweb I see this as simply more reason TO use bitcoin.

1. ANYTHING can be used to gamble and launder money. These services are old as currency itself.

2. It adds to the fungibility of BTC in that these will always be services people will seek out, what this does is force the government's hand in regulation which will only drive up public awareness and confidence in the currency.

3. Over time it's been shown that BTC has actually IMPROVED these services and there has been since 2013 a federal regulatory body named EFC (SEC for e-coins) that successfully settled up with two known BTC scamming/gambling sites. Money laundering I know nothing about but I know BTC is virtually impossible to counterfeit and all transactions can be traced  if the feds truly wanted to. See: successful prosecution of silkroad founder. And finally BTC has actually improved quality control for SOME types of drug markets as vendors can all be reviewed and rated and also the usage of escrow.

Honestly, as a fairly IT saavy person here with no knowledge of linux or PGP", STILL a huge opportunity for people willing to do the research (real value in that the market is favored toward the smart stealing from the ignorant more than the rich stealing from the poor, something that will also help to stabilize and raise the value of the currency over time)

The author can have some valid points, but he mocks bitcoin fans, as he said. Bitcoin has surely a purpose, it's not only speculation, persons using bitcoin want to have an easy tool to make online payments anonymously.
An easy way to pay and receive payments for online freelancing jobs and similar tasks that didn't exist before. This author is just trying to sabotage bitcoin concept and usage.

Nope i think the article is garbage made by a paid writer from bankers to criticize bitcoin and destroy it's image. How can this digital crypto currency be garbage  if you earn from it double or triple your real regular job without even investing a single penny, well others do spend but they use it to trade and manage to earn double on what they've invested. I think this coin could potentially have a huge value in the future and it is not trash according to the article. Many people have started using it so as countries even institutional investors has also invested in it. Bitcoin is one of the most widely used payment method in local on online shops.

Possibility and calling bitcoin garbage is stupid anyway because no matter how bad things get its never all or nothing because we can still fight for improvements to the protocol to make it more useable.
