I often fantasize about our future without central banking. I wonder about the implications though. Although many governments don't use the money properly, I do believe in central government and some level of socialist ideas.

I wonder if having central governments will be possible in a world where Bitcoin is the norm.

"I often fantasize about our future without central banking."

This will not happen within our lifetimes. It simply just won't. Well, the odds are astronomical. See, most people who were raised on cash are always going to want it. Life won't make sense without it. The final Bitcoin will be mined in 2140 and I think this would be a perfect time to kill fiat for good. Tongue

Bitcoin can give us freedom in financial aspects, and also can give us freedom to make some savings in the near future.
However, if we just going to be well determine unto it we can really become free in many things.
Yeah you have a good point. Bitcoin gives us freedom and also opportunity. By entering in the bitcoin world, we can earn some profits and eventually become our job. I can say bitcoin can be the key for us to success.
The opportunity that bitcoin gives us is actually a blessing. The job that we can work in the bitcoin, can gives us a money that we can use in our daily lives. We just need to do is work hard.

Just like my godfather said to me when I was explaining to him the bockchain. I'm lucky that I'm one of the people who first know the technology because in the future when this technology is well developed enough you can make this as a requirement in resume and you can keep your altcoins and bitcoins that you've bought in a cheap amount but expensive in the near future.
Working hard and patience will pay off.

Freedom has many definition. But since we are talking about bitcoin, yes it is freedom for us, simply because we have the right to choose which forum we are going post. Bitcoin gives us the right to express our opinion. We also have our freedom to communicate our ideas  (power to post a message without hindrance) we can manage our own time. That are some of the  bitcoin's freedom in my iponion

I've checked the thread date and make me realized where I have been to this past few years (2014). Freedom may present at those days as bitcoin is just starting making its name but now (2016) that freedom may just a myth for more and more countries has legalized bitcoin and implemented rules and regulations. I don't say it's a bad thing either.

It takes off the definition of bitcoin being decentralized.
I loved that fact and dont want to change it. Being regulated might be okay but somehow it will still go there.
Someday if our own countries will regulate it too then taxation will come and tax is not freedom. It is actually the definition of being imprisoned in your country.
Decentralized means the system is fair, we do not need to trust the 3rd party which are controlled by people because they are not
perfect and they can steal our money. Of course it will be regulated because that's the purpose why we have the government, but we are
hoping there will be no strict regulation that we will loss the essence of decentralization.

As the world's poorest men and women are suffering from the oppression of their governments of taxes and other calculations with salaries, but also a really small salaries, the bitcoin can give liberty from theft by the authorities with the men and women pockets.

A beginner's guide to bitcoin

http://www.coindesk.com/information/

 Bitcoin is Freedom
 ---------------------

Bitcoin is Freedom from oppression, exploitation & tyranny by Banksters.

From cradle to grave we have all been financial debt slaves through the debt based fiat currency schemes that should have long ago been outlawed.

Bitcoin offers People an avenue of Safe Haven that assures a fiscally disciplined currency.

Bitcoin is vastly superior to traditional fiat currency schemes.

Bitcoin brings all Peoples Freedom by forcing Decentralized Monetary Competition, and by doing that it will eventually force governments to become fiscally disciplined with their monetary matters, or suffer monetary failures repeatedly until they do.

Bitcoin will ultimately free governments from their Bankster Masters (each countries Central Bank) when governments finally re-learn to print and issue their own debt-free currencies, while abolishing their existing Central Banks powers and controls over them. This will hopefully occur as the present system fails and governments finally realize they hold all the cards, not the Banksters.

So simply put:

 Bitcoin is Freedom

I totally agree with you. Bitcoin really is freedom. But, the government also does love the banks because with their help, they can control a huge number of people all over the world. So while i agree with you on some parts, I don't see the government letting go of the banks. It just won't fit. But, i love freedom. Freedom from the chains that ties us from the way the system works today.

I think maybe that's going over the top a little bit, LOL. The thing is that every single service that comes out there makes using cryptocurrency easier or more acceptable to the common Commerce person drama takes away a little bit from that anonymous and decentralized core. I mean the exchanges have to use the database to keep track of users and balances. Other websites have to keep track of data and there's a loss of decentralization.

When we say Freedom, it has many definition, it can be spiritual, material, and others. But since the topic was Bitcoin is freedom it occurs in Financial Freedom, were it can be true if the person will take this seriously, and once you achieve this financial freedom it means you are also definitely rich. Basically it is true getting bitcoin is like freedom, freedom of transaction, manage it, for anything and others according to what we want. But about the freedom of Bitcoin i still doubt it for all countries, maybe in some countries still can't be said using bitcoin is freedom, maybe there are still rules and restrictions on using bitcoin to everyone.

Sounds really good, that bitcoin would be freedom. But the freedom ended in taxes. And banks are already working on cryptocurrencies.

They are not actually into crypto's but they are adopting the blockchain technology. But I have read some banks that they are trying to adopt bitcoin and some other major alt coins. This is a good news though because they will add demand to bitcoin but the bad thing is bitcoin will be taxed and we can't live with freedom anymore.
Because of their action we are known in the world, still there are who does not fully trust banks and when they put their money in banks it will not gonna grow like the rate we are seeing in investing in bitcoin. They can copy the blockchain technology but they can never fully run it based on the bitcoin system as we are decentralized and they are the opposite.

Not "we" but bitcoin itself, we are the ones that are using it though through our actions bitcoin is doing great. And for those people that are not trusting the bank it's still up to them, we can't guarantee or we don't have an idea if they are totally giving a shot to bitcoin or any crypto currency. And I agree with you, blockchain based on bitcoin is the original.

Instead of banning bitcoin because it is a threat to the traditional banking system, the government find a way to benefit from this by regulating it so that they can still get a share of our transactions. I know that tax may sound bad but we are also benefiting from the taxes and our government cannot function without its blood which are the taxes.

Being a citizen of the country, we are still oblige to pay whatever taxes are due from us from our income since it is part of our duty. Sometimes, it is just hard to pay taxes when we see that only a few benefited from it like the corrupt politicians or agencies.

What is up with you guys about hating taxes? For people who don't know Bitcoin earnings are also taxable under income tax, and if you are earning Bitcoin even online it is taxable within your country. The point about paying taxes is you become oart of your country in terms of development and progression. Not sharing your part of the burden will only hinder the development of your own country it will even create a ripple effect that will soon affect you.
