I feel very inspired right now. I just came across a video in which there's a Bitcoin ATM in the country! I feel so glad to see how Bitcoin is getting adopted. This proves that after all, our promotion of bitcoin is helping in spreading the news. And we aren't planning to stop the promotion anytime; we're even planning to hold more seminars to help people know about bitcoin. Now, one of the advantages of this Bitcoin ATM is that anyone who doesn't know what Bitcoin is and sees it would ask what the machine is used for, and from there, it just keeps spreading!!! Watch the video here to see how it works. BTW, What progress is happening in your country? If none then try doing more in favour of bitcoin (for countries that find bitcoin legal).
I don't really see it as adoption, it's more like enabling the Nigerians to get some BTC in an easier manner. A little but sweet development for BTC in your country, and I'm happy to know you've now got an option to purchase and sell in a physical way.

It is just the beggining maybe we cannot literally say that it was an adoption, if more and more people become aware about bitcoin they will probably try to buy some of it and maybe share the news with their friends or in social media. In this case we can generate mass adoption and finally if more and more people buy bitcoins to the price of bitcoin will go up.
The information about bitcoin is spreading all around the world as time passes by it is reaching every person who is using social media where almost all of the promotion is being held there since there are actually lots of users in social media as of now. In my country, using cryptocurrency is not illegal nor legal, so we are free to use bitcoin on our own. We can also really convert our own bitcoin into fiat into some online banks who are accepting bitcoin without any taxes to pay.

As for our country, really not sure if there are already Bitcoin ATMs here, but as far as I know, there's none yet. But I know that there are a lot of people already know it because it came a few times on the news, some of the merchants here are accepting bitcoin as payment. Not bad, right? This will be a start of the bitcoin era and this will be a great part of our lives Smiley
For me, bitcoin ATM is not that really relevant because of why we should promote ATMs if we can really access bitcoin using our phones with the internet also. Everywhere you are, you can really access cryptocurrency, maybe they are thinking that it is very convinient when they buy bitcoin with that ATM but it is less hassle when you buy online using your device while you are at home or wherever you are.

In my country, the government is showing no interest for cryptocurrencies which makes the people feel like bitcoins are just a bubble and not actually a source for investment. There were some random news on some official new channels asking people to stay away from investing into digital assets like bitcoins or anything like this. This might always be demotivating several people who would like to start their career with bitcoins but the country does not support them.

Individually, I have tried to educate most of my friends and family members about bitcoins and some have started getting deeper into the field but yet there are some who would only follow what the government says and would stay away from investing into such assets.

BTW, What progress is happening in your country?

In our country, Bitcoin is already legalized and for years I don't see any development to it.

Scams all over the country are not uncommon and to be honest, even common lines of scammers are still effective here. That is the reason why a lot of people do not want to use or even invest in cryptocurrencies.
now the name of cryptocurrency is bad because I see many who have misused cryptocurrency for bad actions so people are also very difficult to accept cryptocurrency anymore, cryptocurrency should be able to have a good reputation so it will be very easy to make the legality of its use and some countries do transactions using cryptocurrency.

I wish it was the same for me. Streams to purchase bitcoin are limited/expensive, and regulation is very unclear on how its taxed etc
The very vague way in which its mentioned from time to time in parliament and misconceptions which aren't challenged mean that many do not wish to put in the time to research bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general

The news about the Bitcoin ATM is not new in the news. There will be huge advantages of bitcoin when that news popped up in nowhere. But I think its not the thing. Bitcoin will surely be adopted globally, its only waiting for a great catalyst for it to explode in an instant. There's so many fundamentals that we should look at. Like ETH blockchain 2.0 . And other leading crypto currency like XRP.
Including the natural news coming, like corona virus spread. Overall, Bitcoin will hit its dynamic price we only don't know when, and we still waiting for that the fact that theres so many people trying to predict its coming price that cause people to believe and make them buy in that causes sudden pump on the market.
And most of us are waiting for bitcoin halving, thus it attract investor in? We'll see.

I'm glad to see that bitcoin is now slowly getting be adopted by many countries. All the people who are tireless in explaining the concept of bitcoin to other  non-crypto people, their efforts are now being paid off. In case of our country, they know about this cryptocurrency thing but they don't care and they just keep telling their citizens to be careful in using cryptocurrency.

That's pretty good progress. The existence of a bitcoin ATM means as a form of the many levels of transactions and requests, so it is placed in your country.
Well, the latest development in my country is that Bitcoin is recognized as a trading commodity, some well-known exchanges here are starting to register with official institutions that regulate trade. This is good progress, I think because it proves that bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are not entirely dangerous because the government also gives official permission for exchanges operating here.

Here in India, we are waiting for courts judgement against RBI's banking ban, hopefully it comes positive and will pave a way for adoption!

Hopefully you'll get a good news.
But in general I think that in general policies and attitude towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in whole are getting more flexible. Governments are their authorities have soften their view towards Bitcoin, especially those in western hemisphere and I hope that many countries would follow such example.
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general can't be avoided anymore, the question is only how they will be integrated.
Even several governments might find their own benefits from cryptocurrencies. There was time when bitcoins were not been used legally and most of the people who were been linked with bitcoins were been treated as criminals but times have changed now. People who are linked with cryptocurrency transactions might also work for the betterment of the firm and this might even benefit the governments.

Moreover, large scale projects have started paying tax even though they run on blockchain networks so the government can keep a track on those funds. This is changing a lot of things and I am sure that various governments would start regulating bitcoins by making some minor changes into the network.

Yeah, in my country quite a few people are aware of crypto but it is still considered as a way of doing some shady business.
if its Ok can you share some thoughts about that Shady Businesses?because we are in right computer age now i think everything in Internet knows good and bad about businesses here so how come that Bitcoin become in shady part?and besides it is your call to let your people know about the good things about bitcoin and not just the negative things.

That is one downside of an Bitcoin ATM, the fees are very high, I checked https://coinatmradar.com/countries/ and it seems that it is not listed yet, so this is fairly new in Nigeria. We have two in my country, we just have one as well this year and pretty much bitcoin is gaining ground here but I'm not sure if people are really using this ATM's around.

I'm not gonna use Bitcoin ATM's tbh. I can always opt to use direct transfer to my bank or instant cash out through remittances using the local custodial wallet.
Bitcoin ATM's withdrawal/purchase fees are quite high compared to the local wallet's cash in/cash out options.
Though, these ATM's can help Bitcoin adoption, but I don't think it could be used by a lot of people.

Opening only ONE Bitcoin ATM doesn't mean mass adoption. It doesn't mean anything,if you ask me.
Congrats on the ATM,but I don't think this news deserves much attention.
Anyway,It would be nice if there's more info about bitcoin posted somewhere around the location, where the ATM is installed. It's free local advertising of Bitcoin after all.I hope that more people in Nigeria would start using Bitcoin.

Not your Keys, Not your Bitcoins
Back in the days when crypto markets were going up like crazy seminars were held constantly in my city and country. Now you rarely see one, but I might just look to find some sponsors and organise some meet-ups. Thanks for the inspiration!

P.S. ATMs are multiplying in my city as well, especially in malls. Wink

Why is the machine in a secluded area? i think it would have been better to be in an open environment where as many people can see it, wherever that machine is in Nigeria, i doubt many people can see or take a note of it, anyways i never thought there would be a btc ATM in Nigeria at all, at least that should count for something, i guess this will make the few people who would come in contact with this machine curious and want to know more, so yeah, it is another step of spreading the btc awareness.

I live in Indonesia. Although not entirely bitcoin has the right to use here, at least Bitcoin can already be used as a combination that is very beneficial for the big businesses my company. In fact, I already have some projects that are in the same in Blockhain technology. And they are also projects that are quite superior in the outside and in the state. Bitcoin is only not allowed when we make transactions in cash. However, Bitcoin was passed as a futures investment in Indonesia.

It is a great news more and more country are accepting and adopting it.
It would be great to see more of Bitcoin ATM in the future and be like a normal ATM.
Just imagine how easy it would be for us crypto earners to convert our BTC into Fiat with those ATM.

One of the fastest-growing transactions today is with the use cryptocurrency, and most of the people are using now the bitcoin for transaction payment. That was good to hear that your country now is accepting the use of cryptocurrency because it is not less hassle to the people who have a lot of coins, and they want to pull it out and convert into fiat without doing too much transaction that lessens the money of the people. For now only few countries are accepting the use of it because most of them does not support the use of crypto because the market of it are volatile and also it is not accepted for holding too much number of users and security and still they need to implement a law to make a transaction limited to avoid having market problem.
