Bitcoin Cash will soon die and "bleed to death" in the market especially once Bitcoin gets into the price discovery mode. To me it is obvious that Roger Ver is giving away Bcash 'cause he just want to create more awareness to a shitcoin. I don't give a dime on that, in fact I think he knows it's crypto is garbage, so he wants to get any pump he can squeeze from the market.
We can't just say it as a hype without proper description. If it is a hype in the market bitcoin cash wouldn't have reached its peak and this couldn't have created the controversy of which is the true bitcoin. Even after the controversy it is stated that bitcoin cash will not grow high. What happend further made people get astonished. It grew higher and higher and got to be one among the altcoin with good trading volume through different exchanges. Upon these elements I believe bitcoin cash too got some potential and it isn't a garbage coin.

I think its much better to educate people on how to use Bitcoin and tell them what benefits they can get instead of giving it for free because for sure they will just dump it to get the free money and forget about Bitcoin. With this, we can achieved the mass adoption for Bitcoin in just a few years from now. Although giving out Bitcoin to everyone is a also a good idea to increase its awareness but not beneficial in the long run.

Why don't we have people doing this for btc adoption. This would encourage newbies like us. https://www.cryptoinfowatch.com/roger-ver-gives-away-free-bitcoin-cash-believes-it-would-be-worth-5000-in-future/
Easy to say but that's not the reality. People here are not working their ass off just to give free bitcoin to others... And this idea won't encourage newbies, rather they'll just depend on people giving bitcoins. This is not how it works. In order to receive bitcoin, work for it. You don't depemd your money to others. You are not a beggar, begging for free bitcoins.

This guy is one step ahead of us, and we bitcoin community really need to also take lots of step to promote bitcoin, which I am sure that if Mr. Satoshi was still available and has not gone into hiding, he would have been the first person to actually be doing things like this, but now that he has left the system of bitcoin for us to handle, and having built a very strong community down, I think we need to start doing things like this too to create awareness for it, because what I see this bitcoin cash guy just doing is to try and create awareness, what he is doing is simply just a marketing strategy which I believe will actually work to some extent and may even make people buy more f the coin in addition to the free one that he has given them already.

I will not commenting on BCH and Roger see, I will focus my comment on bitcoin. Of the few people who ask me about bitcoin, they just want to buy bitcoin for profit in the future. But note that there are many people buying bitcoin for profit in the future, but not many people using bitcoin as a means of payment, not many countries have good bitcoin laws. Where do I want to go with my comment? The truth is that many years have passed, but in terms of seeing many countries legalizing bitcoin we are still very far from seeing this happen. A real adoption would be to see all countries in the world legalize bitcoin, a real adoption would be to see banks accept bitcoin without problems.

Bitcoin is like the first generation of successful digital currency developed and the rest of cryptocurrencies belong to Bitcoin's family tree. First and foremost, you should never think or ever describe Bitcoin as an orphan. It is the only crypto coin that had a massive success without launching or hosting an ICO to raise funds to support its blockchain network. The only way that can increase the adoption of bitcoin when people understand what bitcoin is and its true purpose.

Talking about give away bitcoin has done it first when bitcoin isn't as expensive as it is now. Moreover, Roger Ver did
give away BCH because he wanted to take a shortcut so that BCH can hype.Bitcoin doesn't need to do things like that for
adoption. Because bitcoin is very valuable now, so it's easier to accept. Bitcoin only needs government support to make
mass adoption faster.

I understand if someone would make his shit coin as a giveaway but I don't see why someone will giveaway bitcoin to everybody like giving candies in holloween. Bitcoin is an independent coin whereas it could make its price so high that no altcoins could surpass, by the way, I hope you know that bitcoincash is just a pork of bitcoin, meaning, it wouldn't exist if not for bitcoin.

You think just giving bitcoin freely away would help in the global adoption of cryptocurrencies? No way, what people need is to get to know the shortfalls of the current financial payment system then get to know the solution that blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies offer. Only then would they reason up to accepting to use bitcion instead of fiat currency. Shilling has never been the solution.

So the man is giving away $5 and $1 worth of BitcoinCash and that is the ticket he has to land in the news. I am not against giving but to me this can be another waste of time. Roger Ver is the man you have if you think that Bitcoin is the fake one and the real one is on the other side of the fence. I now realized that BitcoinCash must still in the early years of its history since giveaway like this reminds me of the popular faucets back in the 2010-2012 days. I am not a fan and friend of Roger ver and I am not planning to be one.

I have not followed this altcoin. When he says BCH, is this ABC, or SV? Or is vanilla BCH still a thing?

I seriously doubt the comment is worth the dollar he wants to give. As for magical growth, i doubt it. Everytime an altcoin launches, it plummets after a very brief peak. If it survives this plummet, i has a little chance to get this kind of growth, usually temporarily, and often from pump & dump. But this altcoin has already been a while out. I think this altcoin once reached 600 or so, zero from those that used their already bought bitcoin from that forked into this, of course people sold it and price went down again. And it seems to have remained around there. Its price might go twice or trice from what it is now, but 1000x? not gonna happen. So thing your dollar might become 3, as the best scenario. More probably it ill go 50¢. But because its "free" i guess it doesn't matter. Its just marketing, paid advertising, direct to potential clients.

Cryptocurrency giving campaigns are made precisely to increase the number of users, expectations and give movement to a certain project, I consider that allocating a certain percentage to a promotional Airdrop is good, but you cannot fall into excess, because when a resource is For free, people tend not to value it and the truth is that projects need capital for innovations and improvements, therefore, a good strategy is for people to adopt them for practical benefits or to create business networks.

haha, this was very funny. both the article and Roger are obviously trying so hard to advertise the shitcoin called BCH. he says he is paying $5 to "his friends", yeah sure i am also paying $500000 to "my friends" no try to prove i didn't Wink then he is saying post your address for a "chance" of winning $1.

meanwhile BCH network keeps shrinking and blocks are still so empty that the average block size of BCH is around 50 kilobytes! and most of it is filled with nonsense spam.

why doesn't bitcoin do a similar thing you ask? it is because bitcoin is not centralized to have an owner to want to give away money to advertise it. bitcoin is also not a shitcoin desperate for attention like this.

Since the founder of bitcoin has left the community, yes you can call it an orphan.
If you want free bitcoin, there are faucets, back in 2010, bitcoin faucet could generate BTC5, so you are too late 10 years to ask such question  Cheesy
In the real world, there is a saying; there is no free lunch. You should know the correlation with your demands.
Wake up, work or offering your skills to earn bitcoin, just simple as that.

Roger ver is the one who will benefit from the hype he created for his coin, we already have a lot of faucets for Bitcoin, and besides Bitcoin also started that give away when it is just starting out, we also have a lot of freelances that gives Bitcoin, one example is Cryptotalk, but if there's an organization or an individual that will do that, that will be better and will benefit the adoption.

Bitcoin is so decentralized and so popular that I don't think we need anymore effort just to promote bitcoin like Roger Ver is doing for bitcoincash. There are many faucets for bitcoins and many services that accepts bitcoins. There are many bitcoin oriented companies that are having a profit with the use and exchange of bitcoin, they would naturally promote it to increase there revenue. The remaining bitcoin community just needs to held together and mover forward together for bitcoin to succeed.
This only been done to those cryptocurrencies who are still growing their popularity but Bitcoin doesn’t beed that. Aside from the aforementioned, Bitcoin had already grown big which you can see in coinmarketcap so it doesn’t need a propaganda like that. The Bitcoin had been made available to the masses and the circulation had been fine aside from those who are hoarding.

So far, we can say that BCH coins have almost no value anymore and trading volume has decreased significantly compared to a few years ago, maybe Roger Ver gave a big prize to those who followed his social media. I think this is a good idea for Roger Ver by holding a prize event like this to get people to adopt shitcoin again.

Did anyone care to read the article posted by the OP,

Quote
In an industry where Bitcoin that was once worthless climbed to nearly $20,000 everything seems possible. That could be why Roger Ver, the former CEO of Bitcoin.com and an avid romoter of Bitcoin cash is giving away BCH to all his Facebook Followers.

Ver who recently relinquished his position as the CEO of Bitcoin.com wrote in a Facebook post that he would give out $5 worth of BCH to all his friends on the social platform. He added that those that are not his friends who are interested in the giveaway should post BCH wallet addresses under the comment for a chance to get $1 worth of Bitcoin Cash.

According to Ver, Bitcoin Cash, the fourth largest cryptocurrency by capitalization would easily be worth $5000 in future – that is 100,000 percent increase from its current value of just $303.

https://www.cryptoinfowatch.com/roger-ver-gives-away-free-bitcoin-cash-believes-it-would-be-worth-5000-in-future/

So that's $5 though, so that's $5 x 1000. So he is beating that his shitcoin could rise dramatically in the next coming years to be able to reach that $5000.

I don't know about you guys, but we all know who Roger Ver and his shitcoin was, although I won't deny that there's a possibility that it can get there, but I would rather put my money on bitcoin though. This is just marketing ploy for Roger so that many 'newbies' will fall for this trick and really thinks that it is really Bitcoin until one day they realised that Roger made them a fool.

I have came accross a similar topic that tells what if all people in the world would be given satoshis based on current supply, which basically the same as this one. I think the factors that would decide if people would accept your free cryptocurrency are as follows:

1. Amount Given - If the amount to be given is quite small that it's not worth it, then people may just ignore it and just get over it.

2. Hassle/Effort - Combined with the amount, if the effort to be given to cash it out, such as learning about private keys and such, outweighs the amount that one is to recieve, then maybe people would not be attracted and would not even bother to get the money.

3. Personal Opinion - If they have known already cryptocurrencies and somehow close-minded about the whole idea of cryptocurrencies not backed by anything, they might refuse it no matter what.
