I agree with your opinion, there is no element of gambling in bitcoin. maybe those who think gambling are the ones who incur losses when selling bitcoins not in good times and they are affected by market news.
During the early days of bitcoin into usage, gambling industry contributed to the major circulation. This lead to the misunderstanding and people started to think that bitcoin is gambling. In one term it has gambling as well bitcoin gets related, both has the highest risk in it. Our responsibility is to make clear about the reality.

How about we define the word 'gambling' to the context of casino. We will limit it to the significantly low chance of winning. Now compare it to investing to bitcoins. Yes the market value of BTC is unstable but you know you could wait before trading your bitcoins to fiat. They are similar in the way that they both face risks. But I rather face the risks of bitcoins than to the casino's.

I think what people are poorly trying to say is that trading cryptos is gambling at some point. You cannot predict everything (i.e China Ban) so there is a huge luck factor playing around. But I agree, Bitcoin itself is not gambling.

Bitcoin is very far from gambling. Gambling is betting on something to get a value which is high and there is a risk of losing everything that you have betted. There are many types of betting, you can bet if a price will go high or low. From this you are risking something.

In bitcoin, you are only investing your time. But some websites let you gamble your bitcoin. These now depends on the person using the bitcoin. There are no risk earning bitcoins and this is the reason that bitcoin is far from gambling.

I agree because I categorize gambling and gaining an asset different, yes assets can devalue but over time Bitcoin has gained value over the long term, gambling you win or lose - mostly likely you lose since the odds are stacked against you.

Bitcoin is a currency. Not gambling for cryptocurrency world's sake! What's wrong with these people? Well, maybe that's what they heard from others who were might engaged in gambling online using bitcoin as bet and prize.
Hopefully, someday, these people might be enlightened about what really a bitcoin is.

Depends on how you will use it. If it's for payment, it's a currency. If you will invest or trade it, then we can say it's a gamble since you are placing your money or btc for that matter into a rise and fall game. But I see Bitcoin as an investment which will make my dreams come true... 😉

They're just uneducated people about ways on how to earn bitcoin. Maybe they just think that gambling is the only way to earn some. If they just only know the wonder of this forum, on how to use it, how to earn bitcoin out from it via campaigns, then maybe their notion towards bitcoin will eventually change. There are actually lots of ways on how to earn bitcoin aside from gambling, betting or any sort of games through this link: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/100-ways-to-earn-bitcoin-1777912 and let them know about this.

Bitcoin is not gambling but many gambling uses Bitcoin so many consider it's gambling.
We can't consider bitcoin as a gambling, because bitcoin and gambling is a different thing, we can just use bitcoin to bet in gambling to earn bitcoin but it is not the same.

I think the substance of what the OP wanted to say was if investing in bitcoin was a gamble, and with that i will say NO because it's consistently grown back up no matter the tumble in its price. There seems to be a global revolution for the demand of bitcoins and this has catapulted it's growth significantly within a short period.
