Criminals use more dollars than bitcoins. The currency can't help being used by criminals.

Exactly.  Criminals also use cash and regular banks.  Why the FUD title?  What is the point in saying it, spreads FUD.
yeah, criminals use all currencies, the media spreads nonsense to people and they believe it, it is sad to see that so much people think bitcoin is bad

Well, i'm surprised because that's what normal people know about bitcoin thanks to mainstream media who likes to publicize anything which is bad or controversial.
But, i think we can change people mindset if we try to correct if we happen to talk about bitcoin to normal people.

I hope that can be done in an easy way. Damage had been done and correcting it will be harder. Specially now that a lot of people are using the social medias to increase in number of scamming. How can we explain that kind of criminality.

It is only a rumor against bitcoin, no one have proof that bitcoin is used for crimes by criminals, maybe in the past in some places it was used for crimes, but now we do are not seeing any place where we hear about that concept the more we hear is bitcoin is a best currency for those who want to earn online money.

Seriously? Have you been living in a cave for the last five years? Dread Pirate Roberts only accepted Bitcoin, got life in prison and made world wide news. Mark Karpeles used Bitcoin to steal a half a billion dollars, also world wide news. I think we've heard a little about crimes revolving around Bitcoin.

first of all, bitcoin is a "Digital" currency not virtual Tongue, and secondly its accessible to everyone, whether a criminal decides to use it is upto them. It in no way endorses criminals.

I posted this somewhere else but it seems more fitting here.

Bitcoin seems to be the worst magnetic attractant for criminals since the prohibition era liquor business or the 40s-50s Vegas gambling business. Too bad Bitcoin didn't exist in the mid 20th century. The Chicago, New York and Vegas La Cosa Nostra would have loved it.

Bitcoin doesn't have to be illegal for it to be a vehicle for crime. Gambling isn't illegal but every gambling city like Las Vegas is a haven of other types of crime like illegal prostitution. Yes, that's right, prostitution is ILLEGAL in Las Vegas but it's the second largest industry after gambling.

It is bad that we call bitcoin as the currency of criminals, bitcoin is a currency of digital world and all of the digital businesses are dependable on bitcoin  and those who are not yet on bitcoin are shifting to bitcoin, there are more legit businesses on bitcoin than criminals, and more people are getting benefit with bitcoin rather than harms.

Yup, Bitcoin is not all about the bad thing. But if you said so, then fiat (physical money) is also for criminals. Because Bitocin and fiat, they're both money. If you just think about the bad side of a technology, then you would not understand its advantages.

I was told a similar thing by Citrus cash wherein a user send me fraudulent funds and I complained about them and this fraudster to the police. They then said that bitcoin is a currency that's used for illegal purposes. I just did not waste my time replying to them as they support fraudulent transactions and criminals and then blame bitcoin users. It's not necessary everyone uses this virtual currency for illegal trades. I earn coins by selling my gift cards, recharges and signature campaigns which is legal and hence don't care what others say or feel.
sometimes these people just feel like they know about everything and don't want to learn about something furthermore and will result having limited knowledge and limited capacity of brain to think about things deeper, and that's how fool people was made

Bitcoin is not used on a large scale by criminals, only a smaller number of criminals are suing bitcoin for their crimes, I think it is a currency for traders and for those people who do business online.

First of all "trading Bitcoin" is not a job. In 90% of all cases, it's simply overestimating one's own abilities with the prospect of a negative return. At least it's not productive in any way. Sadly the number of people that simply see Bitcoin as an illusional get-rich-quick scheme is increasing every day. These people don't understand nor care about Bitcoin as a decentralized currency at all. They are basically fiat heads that are just searching for the most volatile asset. So OP is hardly a respectable representative of the Bitcoin community.

That said it's pretty clear that most things that can be theoretically used for criminal acts are evil by itself. Think of thoroughly baked bread. You could use that as a weapon to kill people. Yet it rarely happens. The same is true for all kinds of money. Most people are just doing legitimate business with it, only few abuse it. Some people are evil, but not things.

ya.ya.yo!

This topic has been debated a million times already.. Bitcoin is not money for criminals, it empowers everybodies financials.

The thing about bitcoin and criminals though is that it does make it easier for them to transfer large amounts of money overseas. Boats packed with millions of dollars in bills are not needed any more and this can become a problem as law enforcement will stop even less of these transports.

Other than that, most kids are still buying weed with cash on the street corner, not using bitcoin.
